Of course, he didn't need to worry about such security issues. After cleaning Hannah's attic, the two went back to Jack's house together, got so food, and chatted while eating at the table.

Chris, who ca from a military family, was very adaptable to different kinds of food. Even though Jack's steak wasn't of high quality, he ate it with relish.

"Are you short of money?"

Chris's question startled Jack. Following his gaze, Jack noticed the small, old refrigerator in the kitchen. The slightly worn refrigerator seed a bit out of place with the newly renovated kitchen.

"Ah, it's alright. My patrolman's inco is enough for my daily needs. My daily expenses aren't high. It's just that I recently took out a loan to buy this house, so I'm a little tight on cash. I need to replace these old appliances gradually. I don't like to have too many debts."

Jack suddenly rembered his treasure and handed him a USB drive.

"There are 30 Bitcoins in here. Handle them for when they've risen in value in two years. I'm joining the FBI soon and don't want them to find any problems with my finances."

Chris hesitated for a mont, then instinctively took the USB drive, looking sowhat constipated.

Currently, one Bitcoin is only worth six or seven thousand dollars. Seeing Jack's serious expression made Chris, who usually handles cash flow for hundreds of millions, feel quite uncomfortable.

"Don't look at like that. I'm entrusting my entire fortune to you."

Jack may be poor now, but he's confident. If he didn't want to attract too much attention, with his master-level healing skills, he could easily make money treating the rich, let alone organize a cult. His material needs are no longer so urgent.

"You don't want my money, and that trading company has just started operating. It's a bit unreasonable to distribute profits now. What if it's IRS money? Would you mind?"

Chris was a little embarrassed. The mystery Jack had previously displayed was so different from the life he was living now. He pondered for a mont and made a suggestion.

Jack's eyes lit up instantly. His previously nonchalant deanor vanished, replaced by a calculating expression. Who wouldn't want a legitimate inco? If there was any departnt in the US that could silence even the FBI, the IRS was definitely one of them.

"My friend in the IRS is in so trouble lately. He happens to have so connections in LA, so I can have him ask you for help."

Jack was sowhat puzzled: "What help can a regular patrolman like provide to the IRS? Besides, why would the IRS pay ? They have plenty of ways to get the LAPD to cooperate unconditionally."

Chris didn't say anything more, clearly confident in the matter.

"You'll understand once my friend in the IRS contacts you. As a supervisor, he has that kind of power."

Jack nodded, indicating understanding. He then brought up the investigation into the Kleiner Foundation. Now was the right ti; this criminal organization was about to temporarily lose its official support. If they didn't act now, things would beco complicated and dangerous once they colluded with so congressman.

Chris said he would give him the results as soon as possible and then took his leave. His problem was basically solved, and he was now preoccupied with his closest friend, Justin, hoping he could also receive treatnt soon.

A week later, Jack, who was about to leave work, received a mysterious phone call.

"Jack Tavelor? He said I can completely trust you."

Hearing the sowhat aged voice on the other end, Jack was slightly taken aback, then realized that "he" referred to Chris.

"Yes, that's right."

"I have a problem and need your help. I hope we can et privately. You can choose the ti and place, but today would be best."

"Uh…" Jack glanced at the ti; it was just 6 PM.

"How about… my place? 8:30 PM, we can eat and talk."

Anyway, it would be easy for the IRS to check his information, so he might as well be open about it; it would also help build trust.

"I heard you're a pretty good chef. I'm looking forward to tasting your cooking."

Sure enough, they had already investigated him thoroughly. Jack smirked and drove to Wegmans supermarket. He had to treat this cash cow well, so he decided to cook an expensive French al to show his respect.

That evening, Jack was busy in the kitchen while video chatting with Hannah. The sweet girl had been stuck in Quantico for almost three months, and the training was tough, but she still insisted on whispering sweet nothings to him every night before bed.

Unconsciously, after being separated for so long, Jack felt that their relationship had actually grown closer. This girl, taking advantage of the fact that he couldn't reach her, started to say all sorts of things on video. At this mont, the two were talking about her nesis, Tyler Kelly.

"That little bitch really hasn't tried to seduce you lately?" Hannah looked suspicious.

"Maybe she's given up? It's been almost two months. I haven't seen her since the New Year's Eve dinner. You know, I don't even have a TV at ho, let alone watch Channel 8 news."

"She must be plotting sothing. I know her too well; she won't give up easily."

Hannah seed quite resentful.

"I almost forgot to ask, what's so special about that girl?"

Jack, always eager for gossip, especially about those close to him, was practically munching on popcorn while Angela and Wesley were arguing.

"She stole my crown at the prom because I didn't have a date!"

Ah! What a grudge! Jack imdiately joined his girlfriend's tirade against the enemy; at this mont, he had to stand firm.

Hannah, still resentful, soon started whining to Jack again.

"Darling, you have to help get revenge on her."

"How? You give the ideas, I'll carry them out. We'll show her what we're made of."

Jack poured the prepared sauce and dry red wine over the pan-fried foie gras, put it in an infrared warr to keep it warm, and didn't stop talking, coaxing the little sweetheart.

Hannah pouted at his perfunctory attitude, but then her eyes lit up, and her voice beca even sweeter.

"Why don't you make her fall in love with you, and once she's spread it around, she can co with to the high school reunion. Then we'll humiliate her together."

Jack was speechless. What kind of third-rate Arican teen drama trope was this?

Shaking off the goosebumps all over his body, Jack tapped the cara lens of his phone with a spoon in annoyance.

"I think you've been away from ho for too long. Speak properly, that voice doesn't sound like you at all. If you keep this up, I'm going to have a good talk with Mrs. Anderson."

Mrs. Anderson, whom Jack was referring to, was Zoe's mother, Hannah's aunt. She was the only person in the Anderson family besides Zoe who could keep Hannah in check. However, with the increasingly complex relationships among them, Zoe had lost her forr assertiveness in front of Hannah.
