Jack was startled, not only because sia had fallen into enemy hands, but more importantly because the bald man was wearing a red tie.

A red tie paired with a black suit, plus a conspicuous bald head — although he wasn't familiar with the face, , this outfit made it hard not to have so ominous associations.

"Nolan, you watch which floor the elevator stops at. I'll take the ergency exit. Tell over the intercom."

Jack rushed towards the stairs, turning back to yell at Nolan, leaving him standing there.

If the killer in the elevator was really the kind he suspected, things wouldn't end well today. Whether this world had accidentally glitched and stitched the ga in, or it was simply a movie adapted from a ga, an ordinary policeman like Nolan didn't even have the qualifications to be cannon fodder.

Only by relying on his system skills could he fight against those guys whose settings were almost inhuman. Thinking this, Jack ran down the stairs at top speed. Just as he was about halfway down, Nolan's unclear call ca through the intercom.

"Jack, the elevator's stopped on floor B."

"Is floor B a parking lot?" Jack hesitated, worried about losing signal if he was too far away.

"Uh, let ask....It's the morgue, Jack. Be careful, I'll be right down."

"Call for backup. You'd better bring more n down."

Jack's voice unconsciously tightened, and his steps beca slightly more unsteady. Although he was an atheist and not afraid of ghosts, those supernatural horror movies had always been his weakness. In his past life, when trying to woo girls, he'd say watching horror movies would scare them into hiding. With him, it might be the opposite, though the effect would probably be the sa.

Pushing open the heavy iron door, a chilling coldness washed over him. Jack, Glock in hand, moved forward step by step in the dim light.

Why did the morgue use these dim, old-fashioned fluorescent light tubes? And why did they have to have one or two old ones flickering in the corridor? The atmosphere was undeniably terrifying.

He searched cautiously, his heart pounding. Never before had he so vehently hated the extraordinary sensory abilities the system had granted him. The flickering fluorescent lights, the feeble whirring of the old exhaust fan — all these, combined with the faint stench of decay mingled with the slls of disinfectant and formaldehyde, made Jack's adrenaline surge. 'Who should he see tonight? The day he'd arranged with Zoe hadn't arrived yet.

That damned killer, so professional! He couldn't even find sense sothing wrong except it being too smooth of a converstion.

He thought he'd been careful enough, but he'd still fallen for it. He needed to reflect on his actions; things had been too smooth lately, he'd gotten a little cocky.

snap!

Just as Jack was about to turn a corner, he stepped on several shards of glass. Looking up, he saw a fluorescent light tube broken in half overhead. A chill ran down his spine, and he instinctively sank to the ground.

A silent kick flew through the darkness, striking him squarely in the abdon, followed by a barrage of knee and elbow strikes, from his lower abdon to his stomach, then to his chest, culminating in a final blow aid directly at his vulnerable Adam's apple.

Thud!

The nurse's elbow barely touched Jack's throat, her slender forearm firmly gripped by a large hand.

"Now it's my turn, isn't it?"

A cold glint appeared on Jack's face, his initial fear completely gone. He had been holding the gun with both hands, his mind slightly distracted by the atmosphere, and by the ti he realized what had happened, it was too late to defend himself. He could only crouch to dodge the fatal blow to the groin. However, the subsequent blows were no match for his defenses, and he didn't bother dodging anymore. He anticipated the final fatal strike. During his sparring session with the accountant, he had realized he was no longer the weakling with a physique barely over 10; his solid muscles gave him exceptional resilience.

The nurse's — or rather, the female assassin's — attacks, seemingly aid at vulnerable areas like the chest and abdon, caused only slight pain and didn't even force him to take a step back. The Glock remained firmly gripped in his left hand.

Jack retaliated with a silent knee strike to the groin, and the female assassin instantly passed out. This proved that fatal blows to the groin weren't limited to n; a groin kick was equally effective on won.

Shaking off the slightly damaged body cara from his chest, Jack casually crushed it with his foot. Next, it was ti to properly repay the other bald man.

After handcuffing the seemingly skilled female assassin, most of his fear had dissipated. Now, the most important thing was to rescue sia; nothing could stop him from getting the reward. He'd even already decided how big a refrigerator to get for his kitchen.

Coming back to his senses, Jack, gun in hand, moved quickly along the wall, rounding another corner, and finally heard so noise outside a coroner's office.

Peeking quickly into the room, Jack's heart finally settled. Between several stainless steel autopsy tables, the bald man in a suit stood with his back to him, holding a disc-shaped bone saw, interrogating sia.

Now, Jack was completely relaxed, because the back of the bald man's head was clean; there was no distinctive barcode.

"Tell the password, or I'll cut off your ears first, then your fingers."

"Put down that thing in your hand, or I won't hesitate to blow your bald head off!" Jack walked through the coroner's office and appeared at the door of the autopsy room in the back.

The bald man snorted coldly and pressed the buzzing bone saw in his hand against sia's carotid artery.

"Put down the gun, or you'll only get a corpse."

Jack couldn't help but chuckle. Here's a little-known fact: circular saws used to cut plaster and bone move in a reciprocating motion. They can handle hard plaster and bone, but they can't do anything with soft skin. Even if this killer pressed down, he could only leave sia with a red mark on her neck.

Too lazy to explain this kind of knowledge to this guy, Jack unloaded the magazine from his Glock and placed it on the stainless steel autopsy table next to him. He assud a fighting starting stance and waved provocatively at the bald man.

The bald man grinned maliciously as he stood up, tossing aside the bone saw he was holding. He leisurely removed his black suit, loosened his red tie, and slowly turned his neck, the cracking of his knuckles echoing.

This guy looked about the sa height as Jack, but much more muscular. It wasn't so obvious when he was wearing the suit, but now that it was off, you could see his shirt taut with muscles so much that it was almost impossible for the buttons to stay on.

"Did your mother feed you protein powder instead of formula when you were little?"

Jack continued his taunts, seemingly taking two steps back in feigned nervousness, but actually just trying to keep the man away from the fallen sia.
