At this mont, Nolan, sitting in the audience, interjected, "Excuse for interrupting, sir, may I ask what conditions the prisoner has proposed?"

David Rossi glanced at Sean Delmont, the district attorney's assistant, indicating that he should answer.

"The conditions are: the death penalty is commuted to life imprisonnt, with no parole."

Tim, sitting in the back row, imdiately voiced his dissatisfaction: "They are actually making an exception for her cri?"

Sean Delmont stepped forward, beginning to display the eloquence he had honed during his courtroom battles.

"This isn't about making an exception for the criminal; it's for the sake of the victim's families. For a long ti, the families have been hoping to find the remains of their murdered loved ones."

David Rossi seed extrely dissatisfied with the agreent reached between the district attorney and the serial killer, directly contradicting him.

"What about the other families who disagree? They were all very relieved when we were able to arrest Dale in California, because California has the death penalty. How are we going to give them an explanation now?"

Sean Delmont glanced at him helplessly. "I'm sorry, but this matter is beyond the FBI's jurisdiction."

"Why does she have to leave prison? Can't we just let her reveal the location of the body while she's in jail?"

Jack asked, feigning ignorance, interrupting the impending argunt. David Rossi was clearly going to be his future superior, and clashing with the District Attorney at this point wouldn't be good.

After all, things had progressed to this point, and the District Attorney clearly held the upper hand, with the FBI and the police departnt acting as accomplices.

Sean Delmont explained, "She insists she can't rember the exact location, and Griffith Park covers 4,000 acres. Dale says only by going to the site herself can she trace her mory and find the burial site."

Angela and Nyla exchanged a glance and said, "It sounds like she wants to use this as an excuse to leave prison."

"To escape and go back to her old ways," Nyla added knowingly.

"Perhaps, but Dyer also knows that if she can't lead us to those three burial sites, the deal is off."

Sean Delmont was still arguing, but the crowd below rolled their eyes and began to murmur. Clearly, this reasoning was utterly absurd. The District Attorney's office was just making trouble for themselves, seeking fa.

Zoe obviously knew what her n were complaining about. She coughed lightly, and the eting room imdiately quieted down.

"Alright, now Captain Grey will assign the specific tasks."

Captain Grey stepped onto the podium again. The matter had been decided from above; even the FBI could only express their dissatisfaction. What objections could their re precinct possibly have?

"First, seal off the entire police station before the prisoner arrives, stop detaining suspects, and transfer existing suspects to the Twin Towers precinct."

"Then, that pretty troublemaker outside needs soone to keep an eye on her. It's ti for Wilshire Police Departnt's youngest and most handso guy to step in. Keep an eye on her, Jack, don't let her cause us any trouble."

Angela grinned, making a gun gesture with her hand and pointing it at the bewildered Jack, making a soft "shoo" sound, indicating he was dood.

Having been extorted by Angela for a al as hush money for Hannah, Jack pretended to be dejected as he went to the armory to collect his equipnt. Of course, this was just a joke between friends; in reality, as the departnt's beloved sweetheart, Hannah had many more informants within Wilshire Police Departnt than just her best friend.

"Does seeing make you so unhappy?" Tyler Kelly's makeup was exceptionally refined today, and she smiled radiantly when she saw Jack, exuding a charming girl-next-door vibe.

"How did you get permission from the higher-ups to allow you to conduct follow-up filming? Or did you make so kind of deal with that district attorney?" Jack asked curiously. It was unheard of for the police to agree to let a TV station get involved in sothing like this.

Tyler Kelly stared intently at Jack for a mont, a hint of sincerity appearing in her eyes.

"It seems Hannah isn't just with you because you're pretty. Don't you think I got this opportunity through my father's connections?"

Jack t her beautiful blue eyes for a while before replying.

"Being a news anchor on Channel 8 obviously isn't just about pretty faces and connections. Although I don't know much about your dia industry, I've seen several capable professional won like you."

"Hmph!" Tyler Kelly clearly understood Jack's implied aning and replied with a touch of arrogance.

"Like Hannah's sister Zoe, right? Well, I'll take that as a complint."

Jack was sowhat surprised. Could Zoe be this girl's idol?

Then he realized, given Zoe's current status, it was quite possible. Just her public coming out as gay was enough for this girl to idolize.

"So, it was Sean Delmont who invited you? He wants to use this to take things a step further and drop the 'assistant' prefix?"

Tyler Kelly chuckled, not answering directly. "Doesn't Hannah often praise you for being smart?"

"You can ask her yourself; she'll be back from Quantico soon."

At that mont, the police station garage door slowly rose, and a white prison van slowly backed in. From the side door, Captain Grey, along with Nolan and others, David Rossi, and the District Attorney's assistant, Sean Delmont, erged.

"Captain Grey? I'm Commander Conandes." A bald, middle-aged prison guard handed a stack of docunts to the commander.

"The prisoner's last al was at six o'clock, and she went to the toilet 47 minutes ago. That ans you don't need to worry about her needs for the next two hours, but you will…"

"Wait, wait, what are these docunts?" Captain Grey took the docunts, completely bewildered.

"The Eighth Andnt to the Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishnt. The prisoner is now being transferred to you. Please act in accordance with the law."

"Prisoners are protected by the Bill of Rights. Don't end up being prosecuted."

Commander Conandes wore a smug smile, as if he had successfully handed over a ticking ti bomb.

"So what do I have to sign?" Captain Grey, who had never experienced anything like this before, was still a little confused.

"An affidavit stating that I, Antonio Conandes, Commander of the California Departnt of Corrections, hereby transfer jurisdiction over prisoner 081316 to Los Angeles Police Departnt — Captain Wade Grey."

"Thanks." Captain Grey, looking helpless, signed his na on the docunt and handed it back.

"OK, bring her out." Commander Conandes shouted.

The prison van door opened, and a middle-aged white woman with red hair in her forties was pushed out.
