Just as Kade reached out to hold the phone with both his hands, Ella released her grip on it.

When he stabilized himself, he realized that Ella was still standing in her spot, without looking the least bit bothered about her phone that was in his hand.

Kade’s face turned green at the implied ’such a pervert’ floating in the air.
In his disgust, he stepped forward, wanting to shove the phone in her hand.

In the exchange with Ella earlier, the conversation with Adrian had already popped open at so point.
Kade’s eyes only briefly road over Ella’s cringe and mushy texts but when his gaze landed on the texts from his brother, his entire body tingled over.
Goosebumps covered his body.
Ella had expected him to preserve his dignity and return the phone to her. So when he did not do that, she was curious.
So, she turned to look at him.
However, Kade stood there, rooted to his spot.
The guy was a little pale in face and he looked like he had seen a ghost.
Ella stretched her neck and peeked at her phone.
