In the Eve Mansion.
Dark clouds enveloped the lavish mansion and biting cold seed to seep into the bones of the people present there.
The servants all trembled in discreet corners as they watched the man who sat on the couch, his expressions unreadable.
On the coffee table, Adrian’s phone was placed with due respect.
And Adrian’s eyes had never once strayed far away from it.
"Second Master, why don’t you call Miss Yu?" Ji Yan couldn’t stop himself at this point.
Adrian did not respond as if the voice of any mortal couldn’t get through him.
Ji Yan wiped his sweat. He really wanted to cry. He couldn’t even bla Ella for this entire situation considering that his second Master himself gave her the permission to visit her parents.
Yet, now, he seed far from satisfied with Ella’s absence.

Everyone held their breaths as Adrian picked up the phone.
And in the next mont, the ice around Adrian cracked a little.
From his angle, Ji Yan caught a glimpse of Ella’s text.
[Ella: Baby, are you done with your work yet?]
Then Ji Yan watched his Second Master clumsily typing in 0.1 seconds.
[Adrian: Yes.]
[Ella: Then have your dinner, and sleep early. No matter what, you must not work at night.]
[Adrian: Mm.]
After that, the conversation went dead. And a few icicles grew around Adrian again.
Ji Yan almost shed a few tears: I still work for you, Second Master, but isn’t this unreasonable? What can a lady say after you text her ’Mm’?!

Riri and Lala, laying on the opposite couch, stretched their paws as they played lazily.
Suddenly, a huge shadow hovered over them. In the next mont, they felt themselves floating in the air.

Being picked up by their ’I might love you but I will rarely express it’ Daddy so abruptly, the two dumb kids blinked blankly.
Adrian looked at the both of them and turned towards the main door, "You miss her."

Ella couldn’t sleep at all. It was more than an hour past midnight but she kept tossing and turning.
At first, she reached out to her phone to call Adrian. But, eventually, she decided against it.
With Adrian’s sleeping patterns, it was better not to disturb him at this hour.
Ella got out of the bed and from her mory, she started exploring her childhood room. But after a few monts, she realized sothing.
Even though the room looked just the sa as before, many of the things had changed. And many things were replaced.
That included the old mini photo album she had once made for a school project. Ella cherished it so much that she had brought it back from school and stored it inside her closet. Yet now, it was no longer there.
Ella imdiately rushed back to her bed and squatted in front of the bedside table.
When she opened the lowest drawers, she found it empty. When she had first joined school, she had once brought a fairy thed slambook.
But she did not have any friends at that ti so she ended up filling the pages by herself.
In the end, she was too embarrassed to take it out so she stuffed it here.
But now it is gone too.
’Honk’
The sound of horns snapped out of her daze.
And it took her a mont to sense the commotion downstairs.
Ella imdiately rushed to the window in her room. When she looked down, she spotted a black car.
Ella’s eyes widened. It couldn’t be—
Ella imdiately turned around and sprinted out of her room.

There was a commotion in the Yu Mansion as the servants rushed around.
Mrs. Yu looked at her husband cautiously, "Is that really him?"
Mr. Yu nodded, "Don’t be so nervous."
Although he said that, the mont Adrian stepped past the main door, Mr. Yu held his breath.
But with one closer look at the man, the Master and servants of the ntion were all dumbfounded.
Adrian was dressed in a custom black suit, and he emanated the kind of aura that made people back off in his presence. However, what bewildered everyone was that...
This fearso man was holding a small puppy in his hand. And on his shoulder, a tiny kitten was curled comfortably.
The sight was adorable but too difficult to digest. Nobody could take this picture in reference to ’The Adrian King’.
And if the Yu Couple had not seen Adrian before, they would doubt that the person in front of them was not the sa man who was preceded by his ruthless reputation.
"Who is causing such disturbance at this hour? Do they have a death wish..." Esther’s disgruntled voice halted and her sleepy face imdiately lit up when she saw the person standing downstairs, "Mr. King?" Her voice ca out like an angel’s whisper.
However, Adrian did not look at her.
His gaze traced over the rooms inside the Yu Mansion.
Mr. Yu cleared his throat and stepped forward, "Mr. King, it’s your first ti visiting our mansion. Since you are here at this hour, please stay over for the night."
Adrian paused and glanced at the man.
Mr. Yu held his breath, suddenly not knowing what to say.
"Alright."
The mont Adrian’s words dropped, Ji Yan entered the mansion with a few boxes in his hand. The small coffee table was imdiately covered in the pile of boxes.
Mrs. Yu tugged at Mr. Yu’s hands, who in turn glanced at Adrian, "Mr. King, these are..."
