"Video ga? When did you even bring this with you?" Ella glanced at the man who had already started with the setup.
"I keep a few things in my car, just in case I need them for entertainnt."
"Of course," Ella nodded in understanding, 'Like those favoured comic books of yours?"
"What comic books?" Ronan asked.
Kade opened his mouth to speak but just then, he caught sight of Adrian who happened to look his way, sitting on the couch like an ice sculpture.
Kade gulped the words that had reached his throat, "Of course, it's so of those that Ella had shared with ."
As he spoke, he glared at Ella with a gaze that scread, 'If you say I read hentai, you read it too. Let's see what my brother thinks of your unique hobby!'
Adrian's gaze quietly landed on Ella.
Ella burst into harmless smiles, "Of course, it's the educational ones that my baby prepared for !"
After shrugging everyone off, Ella swiftly moved to the kitchen.
"Are you not playing?" Kade turned.
"I can join, if you are willing to starve later!"
"I will help you then," Ronan imdiately moved to the kitchen.
But Ronan had not even taken two steps when he froze, watching Adrian naturally walk inside the kitchen to stand beside Ella.
Ella looked at Adrian, raising a brow.
"I will help," The man swiftly grabbed the cabbage from her hand.
"Say, Ace, do you even know how to cook?" Ronan quirked a brow, "Last ti I rember, you were looking up the recipe of a pancake huh?!"
Thinking about it, Ronan felt like it had been ages since then. Back then, he had felt astounded seeing Ella and Adrian so llow with each other.
Now, the sight of them standing together in the kitchen did not look unnatural at all.
Ronan thought his words would punch cotton but surprisingly Adrian looked up and indulged him with a response, "Do you?"
Ronan shrugged, "Of course, I know how to cook."
Adrian's brows pinched together, his hand that had reached out to hold the knife, paused mid-air.
Now, this got Ella interested in the conversation as well, "I never imagined soone as busy as you to be skilled in culinary arts as well!"
The impression she had of Ronan from her previous life, all contained him serving the King Family diligently.
More specifically, he stayed by Adrian's side, followed all of Adrian's orders and did his bidding.
Back then, out of frustration, Ella would often label him as the 'King's family dog' because a couple of tis, he had seen through her ploys of harming Adrian or running away.
Ella had never seen Ronan having a life of his own, or let alone indulging himself in his interests.
But this life was proving to be different.
At the thought, Ella's gaze shifted to Ruby who was focused on the large screen, pretending to not pay attention, even when her head was slightly tilted to the side.
"I have had quite a long training period to get here so during that ti, I did pick up a few skills, other than my dical skills of course!"
At this mont, Adrian's phone rang.
The mont he answered the call, the laid-back air around him shifted to sothing solemn.
He felt a soft nudge on his hand when Ella grabbed the cabbage from him.
As he looked at her, the girl softly whispered, "Go, do your work. I will look for you once lunch is ready."
"Hello, hello… Second Master, can you hear … Is this godforsaken phone not working? Second Master, it's urgent ah… those traitorous directors..." Ji Yan scread on top of his lungs on the other side.
But there was no response from Adrian.
Because suddenly, the man was surrounded by a gentle shower of spring flowers.
'Go, do your work. I will look for you once lunch is ready.'
Such simple words yet Adrian couldn't quite comprehend the warmth that wrapped around his heart, refusing to fade away even after Ella had looked away from him.
Ella had just reached for the knife when she felt a firm hand positioned behind the back of her head.
Before she could utter a word, her head was angled and her lips were captured.
The abrupt kiss stole all her breath away and her eyes widened, feeling Adrian's tongue tracing the rims of her mouth, trailing and pushing deeper as if he was trying to completely dominate her.
She kissed him back gently but just as she was about to close her eyes-
"Oh my god, my poor eyes! Why were they not poisoned before this?" Kade, who happened to turn around at this mont, scread as he coiled back on the couch with his hand clutched on his chest.
Ronan grimaced quietly.
Ella's face flushed as she suddenly snapped out of her pink bubble.
Damn, damn, damn, did Adrian just kiss her in front of everyone? That even, not just a peck but one with all that… um… tongue?
No matter how thick skinned Ella was, she turned a bit red.
However, Adrian seed completely unfazed by the chaos he had caused.
Very calmly, he released her lips. Then, his fingers shifted from her hair to cup her face.
As his thumb stroked her cheeks, his face suddenly enlarged in front of her. Ella felt the cool touch of his lips falling upon her forehead.
"Alright."
By the ti Ella realized that his 'alright' was a response to her previous words, Adrian had already retreated into her room.
In a matter of a few seconds, there was a knock on the door and a bodyguard delivered Adrian's laptop and a couple more files in the room, as if he was on standby.
Ella sighed. At tis, she forgot his identity…
"Oh how the tis have changed…'' A calm voice sounded in Ella's ears.
She looked at Ronan who had started chopping the vegetables proficiently.
Ella narrowed her eyes and gave him a look before she looked over to the other side.
In the living room, Ruby and Kade were playing so racing ga together.
Ella looked at Ronan again.
"What?"
"What do you want from ?" She squinted. There was no guy that this petty guy left Ruby's side just to hel;p her out in the kitchen.
"Can't I just be here to help you-"
"No."
Ronan paused, "Have you always been this smart?"
"No," Ella deadpanned.
"_"
"Fine…" Ronan's movents slowed as he looked up at Ella, "You told her about it, didn't you?"
Ella queried a brow, "So what if I did? So what if I didn't?"
"You…"
"Early in the morning, you let yourself be dragged over here by Kade. Did you expect that Ruby wouldn't figure out that you had been outside for the entire night?"
"It's not like I wanted to," Last night, Ronan felt like Ruby was acting completely different from her usual self.
He had never seen her that fragile and vulnerable and for once, he did not know how to deal with her or what to do in that situation.
So as to not make Ruby uncomfortable, Ronan pretended like he did not see the tearstains on her face.
But he also couldn't understand why he felt so bothered by seeing her in that state.
Utterly helpless, he had texted Ella, thinking Ruby would be comfortable in her friend's presence. Then, he asked Ella to visit in the morning thinking Ruby needed rest.
At the end of it all, Ronan ended up sleeping in the car outside the apartnt building.
When he saw Kade tagging along with Ella and Adrian in the morning, he couldn't stop himself from coming over.
He couldn't quite put a finger on the feeling… but the thought of Kade and Ruby spending the morning together, Kade showing concern for Ruby, and them… ugh… it nauseated him quite a bit.
"At the end of the day, I am not quite sure of your intentions towards my friend so naturally, I will be wary," Ella dropped the knife and turned to Ronan.
"Do my intentions even matter..?" Ronan looked at Kade and Ruby who were playing the ga, sitting side by side on the couch.
Ella rolled her eyes, "Birds of a feather indeed flock together."
"What do you an?"
"Instead of jumping into conclusions, shouldn't you find a way to clarify things?" With that said, Ella busied herself in the preparations for the lunch, no longer paying attention to the doctor's tragedy.
By this point, she surmised that Adrian and his friends all possessed low EQs when it ca to their private lives.
The group had their lunch in peace.
But trouble ca knocking right after.
"You are…?"
The Old Butler of Main Mansion looked at Ruby with an amicable smile, "Is the Second Master here?"
Ruby imdiately realized that it was soone from the King family.
"Ruby, who is it…?" Ella's words trailed off when she spotted the old butler standing at the door.
