"Are you doing this on purpose? Do you know how much trouble I will get into...?" Mo Jun chattered away in his car as he glanced at the woman sitting in the passenger seat.
Ella calmly fixed the scarf around her bandages before putting on her shades.
She was dressed in a soft elegant dress and nobody would be able to tell that she pulled a ’princess stunt’ by climbing down the window half an hour ago.
"I will treat you later."
"What treat? Your man will turn into a midnight feast if he knows about this..."
Ella gave him a silent look.
Just one look yet Mo Jun shut up almost imdiately.
He was afraid of Adrian but he couldn’t also deny the fear he held towards Ella.
The way she helped him throughout almost made it seem like she had everything under control, from the beginning to end. Like she knew everything and she could predict everything.
Other than that, she was the only person who had stood by him in the mont of difficulties despite their differences in the past so sowhere along the way, they had established a form of camaraderie.
So, if she wanted his help, he would definitely step forward to help her, even if it risked his life. Because the situation Ella pulled him out from was no less than death itself.
"I don’t get it... The security in the Eve Mansion is so tight. Who did you hold hostage to escape so easily from there?" Mo Jun muttered as he opened the car door for Ella.
Ella paused for a mont, frowning before she replied, "Myself."
Mo Jun stood dumbfounded while Ella stepped inside the grand hotel in front of him.
It was only when she almost disappeared from his sight did he recover his senses and chase after her.
And truth be told, even before Ella’s rebirth, Adrian’s guards would let her have his way if she threatened to hurt herself, let alone now when they indeed treated her as their Master’s wife.
If she threatened to have her way, they would let her get by. At most, they would just inform Adrian.
But Ella was not afraid of that. Before Adrian got to her, she would finish what she was here for.
...
Inside a VIP room of the grand hotel.
A woman stood by the window, donned in a bodycon dress that seed two sizes small. It hugged her body snugly, enhancing her curves in all the right places.
One could not say what she was thinking but two of her fingers constantly twirled her hair strands absent-mindedly.
’Click’
The door opened and Esther straightened up.
"Ah Jun... you are finally here..." Esther ran a hand to smoothen her bodycon dress as she spoke without turning around, "I knew you would not forget just like that. I always knew you loved the most."
Esther’s voice wavered, "When I received the ssage that you want to et here, I just knew you couldn’t continue to act anymore. You must be sick of acting like you hate , right?"
Esther gripped the windowsill and continued in an ever-so touching voice, "In fact, these few days I have been reflecting on my actions. I was led astray back then... I shouldn’t have been with others..."
"Thinking about it, you are the one who has been by my side all this while. I still rember how we t. I rember hiding and seeing you being scolded by your father... and you running into a corner to cry..."
"And then I dropped a handkerchief for you, knowing you didn’t want to be seen being so vulnerable. Nobody has probably seen that side of you..."
"We have been together for as long as I can rember. But these days, you don’t even look at ..." Esther sniffled, "I was wrong in the past, Ah Jun... If not for Ella wreaking havoc on my life, why would I..."
"Why would you sleep with your fiance’s subordinate?" A crisp voice cut Esther off.
Esther froze.
In one split-second, she whipped around and glanced at Ella, "You.. What are you doing here? It was obvious... obviously Mo Jun who asked to co here..."
"You didn’t answer yet. Had I not been wreaking havoc in your life, then you wouldn’t have slept with your fiance’s subordinate? Or would you have restrained yourself from having an affair with your sister’s ex? Or..." Ella took a pause as she glanced at Esther, "Would you have not flirted with your sister’s husband constantly?"
Esther’s face turned the deepest shade of green.
Standing in front of her was Ella. Even though her face and upper half of the body was covered in a scarf, she exuded an elegant aura that was just impossible to dismiss.
She was no longer the bum Esther used to look down on.
And for so reason, Esther herself felt small sharing the sa space with Ella.
The suddenly constrictive, almost conscious feeling took her aback, "I have nothing to talk to you about..."
"I’m not here to interview you, either. Nor do I fancy seeing you," Ella crossed her arms in front of her chest, "I just want to know a few things."
"What makes you think I will answer those?" Esther smiled smugly.
Ella blinked.
In a split-second, the door behind Ella opened and a horde of n walked in, led by two won.
In the blink of an eye, the two won grabbed Esther’s hands, kicking her down to her knees.
"Ah! You bitch..." Esther trailed off when she recognized so of the guard’s face.
Just as she was in a daze, there was the sound of reverberating footsteps.
Esther looked up in disbelief, "Ah Jun... Ah Jun, how could you be so ruthless to ?"
Mo Jun’s face was mostly indifferent, except for the small glint in his eyes.
However, he did not utter a word.
The room froze in silence for a long ti before Ella turned and nodded in satisfaction, "I expected you to speak up for her. You are stronger than I think."
In fact, there was surprise in her own voice as she said so.
