For seven relentless days, the forest beca a battlefield.
John pushed deeper into hostile lands, hunting monsters that once marked him as prey. His body had grown harder, heavier, and faster, but growth alone wasn’t enough—he wanted refinent. Precision. Evolution.
Tier 3 and 4 monsters no longer interested him. They died instantly, offering too little experience to matter.
Tier 5 monsters—territorial, cunning, vicious—were his true targets.
And he hunted them ruthlessly.
Day 1 – The Venom Serpent
The first major fight was a massive Tier 5 serpent coiled around a stone spire. Its venom could lt bone, and its ambush speed was terrifying—but John had long surpassed simple ambush predators.
The serpent lunged.
John slamd it into the rock with his tail, crushing vertebrae with a single blow. It writhed, but he finished it swiftly, tearing its skull in half with his jaws.
[EXP Gained: 3,900]
[Predator’s Instinct Lv. 5 → Lv. 6]
John exhaled smoke. "Next."
Day 3 – The Two-Headed Dire Bear
At dawn, he found a monstrous two-headed dire bear. Thick fur like iron wool. Claws built to split boulders. A Tier 5 apex predator.
Perfect.
The bear roared with both heads and charged.
John’s wings cracked the air as he dodged. Claws scraped his Scale Hardening, sparks bursting. He countered with a torrent of Dark Fla Breath, burning one head instantly.
The other roared in agony.
John tackled it, pinning it down, and crushed its skull beneath his hindleg.
[EXP Gained: 5,100]
[Dark Fla Breath Lv. 4 → Lv. 5]
[Level Up: 49 → 50]
[EXP: 0 / 55,000]
A satisfied growl rumbled in his throat. He felt himself sharpen, his instincts quicker, his fire hotter.
Day 5 – Refinent
He trained in the sky.
He trained in the forest.
He trained until his wings ached and fire burned raw in his throat.
He threw himself into combat against two more Tier 5 monsters—a stone-armored boar and a stalking shadowpanther. Both fell. Both fed his strength.
[Aerial Mastery Lv. 3 → Lv. 4]
[Predator’s Instinct Lv. 6 → Lv. 7]
[Scale Hardening Lv. 4 → Lv. 5]
His growth felt slower now, each improvent earned through blood and force of will. But it was real. Tangible.
He was close—so close—to breaking into Tier 6.
Day 7 – The Mountain Wyvern
By the final day, John challenged the most dangerous creature near his lands—a lightning wyvern nesting atop a mountain cliff.
Its wings crackled with blue sparks. Its eyes burned with territorial rage.
It shrieked, unleashing a blast of lightning.
John dove sideways, feeling static bite at his scales. He spread his wings wide, swooping upward, then dropped like a teor.
They clashed mid-air.
Talons against claws. Lightning against fla.
The wyvern tried to ensnare him with its tail, but John twisted, biting down fiercely—hard enough to crush bone. Dark flas erupted from his throat, engulfing the wyvern completely.
It fell, burning, crashing against the cliffside.
John landed beside the smoking corpse.
[EXP Gained: 7,400]
[Dark Fla Breath Lv. 5 → Lv. 6]
[Level Up: 50 → 51]
[EXP: 3,300 / 60,000]
He inhaled deeply, feeling the changes inside him—incrental, but powerful. His mana pool steadied. His muscles grew denser. His scales hardened.
He checked his updated status.

John nodded slowly. "Good... I’m getting there."
One more leap. One more breakthrough. Tier 6 was within reach.
But for now... after a week of constant battle, exhaustion crept in.
He returned to his cave.
The familiar rocky chamber embraced him like a protective shell. The air slled faintly of scorched embers and the faint musk of dragon presence.
John curled up, folding his wings around his body, and allowed sleep to overtake him.
But far away... sothing stirred.
Beyond mountains and rivers, in the distant west, the earth rumbled.
BOOM.
BOOM.
BOOM.
Each footstep was like a thunderclap.
A colossal creature—ancient, towering, a monster of prival age—walked through the wilderness. Trees shattered under its weight. Valleys trembled. The air bent around its massive fra.
Its eyes glowed faintly with predatory awareness.
It paused.
Turned its head.
And stared toward the east.
Toward John’s growing domain.
Sothing new had appeared in the forest.
Sothing young.
Sothing rising.
And it was coming—drawn by instinct, hunger, or curiosity.
John slept peacefully in his cave...
Completely unaware that a disaster-class predator was already on its way.
