Lian Yeye ca rushing with news, saying that Old Master Lian had been carried back.
"Yeye, what happened?" Lian Manman asked Lian Yeye.
"Sister Manman, didn’t I go ho to feed the pigs," Lian Yeye glanced at Lady He on the kang, and said.
"Second aunt, didn’t you hear what Yeye said? Why aren’t you moving?" Lian Manman asked Lady He again, upon hearing from Lian Yeye that Old Master Lian was in trouble, Lady He was still sitting on the kang without any intention of leaving.
"I..." Lady He pondered for a mont and then slowly got off the kang to put on her shoes, "Then let’s all go together."
"You go back first." Lian Manman told Lady He, "Aren’t you afraid of my grandmother scolding you? No one’s working at ho, and you’re out wandering."
"I’m not wandering." Lady He mumbled, "The old lady doesn’t have the ti to scold now."
"Fourth aunt, you all will go back to see the old master, right?" Lady He asked Lady Zhang as she put on her shoes.
Old Master Lian went out upright and was carried back horizontally. Regardless, they must go and have a look.
"We’ll go." Lady Zhang replied.

After Lian Yeye finished speaking, she rubbed her own face.

Lady Zhang’s face showed so hesitation.
"Fourth aunt, Sister Manman, are you going over?" Lian Yeye asked.
Old Master Lian had been carried back on a door panel, and Lian Yeye was sent to deliver the ssage. How could they not go and see?
"Mom, let’s go, let’s get my dad." Lian Manman said.
The group ca out of the Pickled Vegetable Workshop and sent soone to call Lian Shouxin and Wu Lang over. As soon as Lian Shouxin heard from Lian Yeye that Old Master Lian had been beaten by the Woo Family Brothers, his face imdiately changed.
"Dad, keep calm." Lian Manman whispered, "That’s a word from my second uncle, take it with a grain of salt. Let’s not jump to conclusions, let’s go to the old house, ask properly, and figure it out first."
The Woo Family Brothers were known to be unreasonable, but there had been no word of them actually using force. Old Master Lian was quite elderly, and Lian Manman didn’t believe the Woo Family Brothers would really dare to take action against him.
Moreover, with Lian Shouren and Lian Shouyi present, and the Woo Family Brothers also being two brothers, how could they allow Old Master Lian to be touched by others? They’d be really useless if that were the case.
Lian Shouxin, Wu Lang, Lady Zhang. Lian Manman brought along the servant Xiao Fu and maid Xiao Xi and headed to the old house. Lady Zhao remained working at Lian’s Shop, and only Lian Yeye tagged along.
Lian Manman hadn’t co to the old house for a while. Entering through the gates, she couldn’t help but take a good look around.
On both sides were pigsties, on one side were Lian Yeye’s family’s three pigs, all grown very stout. On the other side, wood was piled up, and in a corner, there was a makeshift shed built with wood. The shed door was open, revealing that the ground inside was covered with so wood, and on top of the wood was a tattered door curtain.
Lian Manman tugged at Lady Zhang’s sleeve, directing her to look at the shed.
Lady Zhang glanced over, her expression a bit complicated. Mother and daughter both understood; that was surely Lady Gu’s den. Lady Zhang had a soft heart and couldn’t bear to see people suffer, but Lady Gu had done too many bad deeds and deserved her fate.
North of the pigsties was the vegetable garden. The vegetables had been harvested, leaving so vines here and there. On one side of the garden, so vines were haphazardly piled, while on the other side, there were neatly hanging strings of air-dried tobacco leaves.
