The next day, Lian Manman and Xiao Qi had just finished breakfast when soone ca to report that the Shen Family had sent a sedan chair to pick up Lian Manman and Xiao Qi to go up the mountain.
"Ninth Master ca with the sedan chair and has already been invited to sit in the front hall. Aunt Luo, who ca to invite the girl last ti, is also here..."
Upon hearing that Shen Qian had co, Lian Manman couldn’t help but put a hand on her forehead, knowing in her heart that Shen Qian was certainly worried she would make up an excuse not to go at the last minute, so he simply ca along. It was a sign that he was determined to take them up the mountain.
With Shen Qian in the front yard, naturally, Lian Shouxin and Xiao Qi were there to entertain him, while Aunt Luo was also invited into the house.
"Our girl specially sent , and asks you not to mind the heat and to do your best to co to the garden and keep her company," Aunt Luo said with a smile as she greeted Lian Manman, handing over a card. "Our young lady specifically wrote an invitation for you."
The first ti Lian Manman was invited to et, Shen Jin formally had Aunt Luo deliver an invitation. Later, when the two beca familiar, and it was agreed they would visit often, the invitation was no longer needed. Now Shen Jin specially wrote an invitation again for Aunt Luo to give to Lian Manman, adding extra courtesy to Lian Manman, perhaps fearing that Lian Manman would find an excuse not to go today.
This ti Shen Jin used Washed Flower Paper again, but instead of last ti’s Jasmine Paper, she used Peach Blossom Paper with a pink background.
Lian Manman took the small card, opened it to see Shen Jin’s personally written sincere words, inviting her to gather at Nian Garden.
Now that it had co to this, it would be unreasonable for Lian Manman not to agree to go.
Lian Manman went inside to change into a goose-yellow spring gown and skirt, pinned two small pearl flowers into her hair, and also placed the hairpin given by Shen Jin beside her temple. After tidying herself up slightly, she ca out of the room, said goodbye to Lady Zhang and Lian Zhizhi, and followed Aunt Luo to the front yard with Xiao Xi and Xiao Qing.
Arriving in the front yard, she saw Shen Qian and Xiao Qi already waiting in the courtyard.
When Shen Qian saw Lian Manman, his long, narrow eyes imdiately narrowed into a smile.
"Manman, Master Chu will be giving a lecture later, why don’t you co to Xiao Shan Ju, I’ve prepared a seat for you," Shen Qian ca up, exchanged greetings with Lian Manman, and said with a smile.
Lian Manman just smiled and said nothing.
Entering Nian Garden, Xiao Qi went with Shen Qian to Xiao Shan Ju. It was not early, and Master Chu was waiting for the two of them to start the lesson. Lian Manman, on the other hand, followed Aunt Luo directly to Lotus Pavilion.
Today, Shen Jin was wearing a red spring gown, her complexion looking sowhat better than the day before. She held Lian Manman’s hand, which was no longer so cold.
"As soon as I finished eating, I was looking forward to your arrival..." The two sat on the couch, and Shen Jin, smiling warmly, looked at Lian Manman and said. Naturally, she noticed that Lian Manman was wearing the hairpin she had gifted her today, and understood that Lian Manman no longer held any grudges, which relieved her and made her happy.
The two did not ntion the previous day’s events again. After chatting and laughing for a while, Shen Jin took out her needlework, and Lian Manman removed a pouch she had sewn herself. The two young girls compared their work and talked about needlework.
After playing for a while, Lian Manman prepared to leave.
"You simply must stay for dinner today," Shen Jin said to Lian Manman. "There’s nothing much happening at ho, and you’d just be doing the sa things if you went back. You have your mother and sister at ho, but I am alone here on the mountain."
Hearing Shen Jin say this, Lian Manman nodded in agreent.
"...I’ll go check on Xiao Qi and be back," Lian Manman told Shen Jin.
Knowing that Lian Manman was concerned about Xiao Qi’s studies, Shen Jin didn’t stop her. She called over a maid at her side and asked her to take Lian Manman to Xiao Shan Ju.
With Shen Jin’s maid leading the way, Lian Manman, along with Xiao Qing and Xiao Xi, headed towards Xiao Shan Ju. Exiting the Lotus Pavilion, they walked along the lotus pond towards Xiao Shan Ju. Not far away, in a pavilion by the pond, Sixth Master Shen was fishing.
Lian Manman was slightly surprised, thinking that Sixth Master Shen should have already returned to the Prefecture City.
Perhaps hearing the commotion from this side, Sixth Master Shen lifted his head and glanced over at Lian Manman.
