Erlang refused to listen to Lian Shouyi’s words to divorce Luo Xiaoyan, and throughout the whole matter, he didn’t side with Lian Shouyi at all. Erlang was not good at talking, nor did he argue much with Lian Shouyi, but his actions clearly stood with Luo Xiaoyan.
Unable to persuade Erlang, Lian Shouyi could only continue his own commotion. But with Luo Xiaoyan’s family watching him, and so many Lian Family farmstead folks in Luo Family Village watching him, he was helpless, and no matter how much he fussed, he couldn’t stir up much trouble.
"Hasn’t it been eight or nine days already, still lying in bed, not going out, crying and cursing every day," Lady Zhao said.
"Is this matter still not over?" Lady Zhang asked.

"Mom, it seems that this ti we’ve returned, things won’t be peaceful," Lian Manman thought for a mont and said to Lady Zhang.
"Manman, are you saying that Second Master will cause trouble for our family?" Lady Zhang asked.
"Can he cause trouble for us?" Lian Manman sneered, "Besides, even now, even if he borrowed a few guts, he wouldn’t dare to cause trouble with us."
Of course, if Lian Shouxin acted out again, allowing Lian Shouyi to take advantage, there might still be so disturbance. However, this possibility was already very small.
"He looks like he’s about to be defeated, most likely he’ll co over asking my father to diate justice for him," Lian Manman said, "Second Sister-in-law might also co."
Lian Shouyi and Luo Xiaoyan knew they had returned, and likely both would think of coming over to seek support. How they talk and act will ultimately decide the outco of the struggle between the two, determining who wins or loses.

"Mom, it’s easier that you think like this,... but just wondering if my father thinks the sa," Lian Manman said.
"As for your father, definitely..." Lady Zhang said half-heartedly, hesitated a bit, then said, "What Erlang’s wife did was out of necessity. Your father should understand; ultimately, managing to keep him from gambling around was not easy in the first place."
"That’s true," Lian Manman said, "I hope my father thinks the sa."
Lian Manman felt a bit worried because she knew Lian Shouxin. Considering Lian Shouxin’s attitude toward Lady Zhou, she feared he might dislike Luo Xiaoyan’s actions towards Lian Shouyi.
"Now that they’re not here yet, we need to persuade my father first," Lian Manman said.
Whether Lian Shouyi holds Luo Xiaoyan or Luo Xiaoyan subdues Lian Shouyi, now is the critical mont. If Lian Shouxin clings too much to "filial piety" and refuses to adapt, he’ll inadvertently support Lian Shouyi, making it even harder to manage him in the future.
When Lian Manman said she would persuade Lian Shouxin, Lady Zhao and Lian Yeye stood up to leave. Lady Zhang and Lian Manman naturally tried to retain them.

No one stopped her. Lady Zhang and Lian Manman knew Lady Li wanted to avoid discussing the matter with Lian Shouxin regarding Lian Shouyi, making Lian Shouxin feel more comfortable.
"Was your third uncle talking to you all this ti at the front?" Lady Zhang asked Lian Shouxin.
"Yes," Lian Shouxin nodded, "Third Brother just went to the east courtyard."
"Then, you and Wu Lang must have heard about the matter with Second Master of Luo Family Village too?" Lady Zhang asked.
Lian Shouli had been talking to Lian Shouxin for quite a while at the front, so he must have ntioned Lian Shouyi’s matter.
"Yes." Lian Shouxin nodded again, his face turning a bit unpleasant.
"Manman just ntioned that they know we’re back, surely they’ll co asking us to diate," Lady Zhang said, "What’s your opinion on this, kids’ father?"
"What else is there to say? It’s a disgrace!" Lian Shouxin said.
"What can be done? He’s that kind of person," Lady Zhang sighed. The harm of Lian Shouyi compared to Lady Zhou was greater; he could disgrace himself outside, while Lady Zhou limited her issues within their own house.
"Dad, when they co later asking us to diate, we should first discuss internally to reach an agreent. Dad, which side do you support?" Lian Manman asked Lian Shouxin.
