Major Goldbridge disappeared like a movie trick. One mont, he was there and the next he was gone.
Everything happened so fast that Major Lawrence stared in a daze, surprised.
’Huh?’ Major Kai blinked.
Major Potter also stared in a daze at the distant figure of the Federation Lieutenant.
Considering just how aggressively and enthusiastically this Quantum Shaper had attacked Major Lawrence with murderous intensity like he had no intention of stopping till the Gene Augur was dead just a mont ago, no one expected this.
’He escaped?’ Major Kai was still struggling to accept the reality.
’Did he really just escape? Just like that?’
Major Kai’s lips twitched.
Even in his years of experience first as a rcenary then as a rebel soldier, rising through the ranks and fighting alongside Ren Nora for the past year, despite the fact that he’d fought against multiple Federation D Rank Ascended, he’d never fought one like this guy before.
One common factor about the Ascended of the Federation Army was that they were always arrogant and condescending, looking down on any other army and soldier, especially rebels.
To escape in such a decisive manner, Major Kai struggled to accept just how shaless this guy was.
But in the end, he accepted it.
’This is war!’ His eyes glead.
A lot of responsibilities were on his shoulder this night.
Heck, the strange rcenary was the one doing most of the work tonight as his job was to restrain the most terrifying enemy till Ren Nora completed his Trial and Ascended.
Apart from the rcenary, he was the second person with the most responsibilities tonight, and his job was to fill the big shoes left by Ren Nora to command and lead the rebel army to victory against the stunned Federation Army.
From the way things were currently going, they were swimming and the rebel army was closer to victory than ever before but Major Kai knew that he couldn’t afford to be complacent yet.
There were still several roads to cross before claiming victory.
Afterall, it didn’t matter if they sohow managed to annihilate this entire contingent of the Federation Army led by General Sylvari Charr.
Unless Ren Nora managed to complete his own Trial and beco a C Rank Ascended, all of their effort was aningless because reinforcent was coming for the Federation Army.
Thinking of the Trial, Major Kai could not help it as he briefly beca distracted and worried.
’Can he do it?’ Major Kai’s eyes instantly narrowed as he ntally chided himself. ’Stop thinking of aningless things!’
’The General has his own part to play, I should focus on my own part!’
The mont he cald himself down, he looked in the direction of the distant Quantum Shaper that was outside the city borders, thinking. ’Should I pursue or leave him?’
The mont he had the thought, he rembered sothing else.
He turned his head and looked towards the still ongoing battle between Major ndez and the enemy D Rank Cyber Gladiator, then all the abilities that the Quantum Shaper just showed replayed in his head.
Major Kai’s brain whirred. ’Pursuing him outside and leaving Purgatory will leave us vulnerable’.
’Besides, that teleportation ability of his...’ he frowned.
’With the catalogue of abilities that he already showed, it’ll be very hard to kill him in a short ti’.
He made his decision as he turned to look at Major Potter. "Keep an eye on him, make sure that he stays outside the city".
Major Potter nodded solemnly, then Major Kai turned to look at Major Lawrence whose body was rapidly healing from the deep injuries on him.
"Can you still fight?"
"Hehe". The massive Whinged Rhino chuckled which ca out as a terrifying growl as he flapped his mighty wings with a grin. "Of course!"
That was all Major Kai needed as he turned his head to look at the distant Exo Knight Cyber Gladiator who was fighting against Major ndez.
"Good," he said, his eyes gleaming with murderous intensity. "Let’s kill him next".
Major Kai was determined to set the stage for Ren Nora’s Ascension.

He moved, Major Lawrence moved, Major Potter also moved.

A few minutes later...
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The air vibrated in a violent manner as 3 D Rank Ascended of the rebel army hunted the sole D Rank Cyber Gladiator of the Federation Army.
Hunting a D Rank Cyber Gladiator of the Exo Knight Specialization was not an easy task, but with their own Exo Knight to even the battle and negate the Class advantages of the enemy, the others found the job easier.
For this battle, Major ndez was the frontline attacker.
The massive 5 ter tall Legendary Knight of Chaos was like so God of War as the Exosuit continued entangling with the enemy’s Sir Lancelot for more than 20 minutes!
Both Exosuits were heavily damaged, bleeding damage in various important components, reducing their efficiency and power yet they didn’t stop.
They kept on fighting with ferocity and intensity.
With Warlord, the 2 D Rank Cyber Gladiators of the Exo Knight Specialization moved like dieval Knights, showcasing advanced martial arts.
Even with Major Lawrence and Major Kai joining the battle as support, it was not easy to break through an Exo Knight’s Exosuit.
Their defense was overpowered.
But in the end, the combination of the power of 3 D Rank Ascended breached the threshold and finally shattered the Exosuit.
CRKSH!
Sir Lancelot exploded into a rain of tallic debris, flesh, and blood!
But the Federation Cyber Gladiator didn’t stop, he still had so reserves of ADE.

The mont the Exosuit was destroyed the first ti, he spent 25% of his ADE in one go to create another one, leading to another long and intense battle.
Minutes later...
CRKSH!
The second Exosuit was also shattered, and finally the Cyber Gladiator with his ADE no longer enough for another Knight Exosuit beca exposed.
Major Kai, Lawrence, and ndez pounced like Sharks who slled blood.
They jumped the Cyber Gladiator!
The man tried to escape but with the Cyber Gladiator Class lacking a teleportation skill like NetRunners and Quantum Shapers, he was like a frog stuck in a well.
He was overwheld.
Major Kai dealt the final blow as the black dagger of the NetRunner stabbed into the brain of the target, fracturing his skull and destroying his brain!
The Cyber Gladiator instantly entered a vegetative state as all his biological processes as a Geneform gradually shut down.
He died standing.
The ti was 3:17am.
