As Ye Chen climbed up a hundred steps, the difficulty of the trial increased, and he slowed down a lot.

No matter how heaven-defying he was, he couldn't gain insight easily without his divine ability of heavenly comprehension.

Nonetheless, it was not hard, as the martial technique was extrely basic, called 'Origin Foundation thod.'

This technique's main purpose was to point out the basic flaws, such as small errors in Qi circulation, irregular breathing of spiritual Qi or even wrong grip on weapons!

However, there was no free lunch in this world and the sa went for this technique, as one not only had to comprehend everything but also had to train for half a year or more if they really didn't want any flaws.

If this ti was one or two months, no one could have cared; however, half a year was a lot for mastering the basics that would not affect the foundation too much. Not to ntion, as long as one was cultivated with high-grade cultivation techniques, there would be no major problems with the foundation.

So, although there were basic techniques like this available everywhere, no one cared, especially since there was no increase in strength or whatever.

Ye Chen also didn't think highly of this; however, it was because he had divine resonance arts, which encompassed all of the basics. So for him this technique was even more useless.

But no matter what, he had to comprehend as much as he could because only in this way could he gain an insight.

Of course, the insights he was gaining were just a tiny part and it was because the technique that appeared in his mory contained so of it.

If not, there was no way he could gain insight like this unless he spent a year mastering this technique.

As Ye Chen continued ascending, Li i and others faced the trial of ti with a hint of anxiety.

Ye Chen, after all, had failed the trial on the first step so they worried about what was behind, as he never revealed the answer.

Nevertheless, they all steeled their hearts and climbed on the four thousand and first step.

Swoosh!

Soon the next thousand steps lit up and everyone's eyes focused on them, wondering if they would fail to.

It didn't take too long and within a few breaths they got their answers.

"They also failed."

"Looks like the trial must be sothing challenging."

Everyone speculated as they saw Li i and others appearing before getting pushed back to the previous step.

But who would tell them that Li i and others also doubted, like Ye Chen, and destroyed the stone bed after so ti to check if this was really the trial of ti?

They also resented Ye Chen for not reminding them; nevertheless, they didn't waste ti and jumped into the trial once again.

Swoosh!

After a few breaths their figures appeared but this ti, like Ye Chen, they had cleared the trial.

"What? Is the trial easy or hard?"

"How could we know? Why don't you try asking them?"

"I don't want to die."

The disciples comnted with stunned expressions before looking at Li i and others who didn't hurry to climb further.

Well, they were not Ye Chen, and their life experiences were different. So how could they get used to a closed-door retreat even if it was for a day?

"Sister Li i, does each step add one day?" Wang Yiyi inquired unwillingly as she recalled how she was cast aside for days until her grandfather saved her.

"We don't know but chances are high," Li i replied with a serious look, after which she glanced at Ye Chen, who kept ascending further.

There was only one thought in her heart and that was if she wanted to stay together with him, then she must overco all of the hurdles.

Lan Ming's thought didn't differ too much; it's just she was more direct and willing to suffer if that's what it took to stand with him.

As for Su Ying and Wang Yiyi? One had a favorable impression of Ye Chen, while the other one was still slightly hateful, so their thoughts weren't the sa as them.

However, they understood if they wanted strength, they had to suffer from loneliness, so they also made a resolve to overco the trials no matter how much effort it took.

"Let's do this," Su Ying spoke first and then, without any hesitation, she climbed the next step.

"Yiyi, you go first and don't worry about failure. You are still a child and shouldn't face such trials," Lan Ming patted the little girl's head with an assured look.

"Mhmm, I will do my best," Wang Yiyi didn't reject her and after saying a few more words, she climbed the next step.

Now only Li i and Lan Ming were left, who gave each other a glance before climbing up the next step.

Each of them was filled with strong will; however, whether or not they can withstand the trial, only ti can find out.

"This is getting harder," Ye Chen muttered with a frown as he faced a lot of difficulties in gaining insight; there were even tis when he almost failed.

Yet he had only climbed up to three hundred steps of this trial.

If this was not enough, then the insights he gained were all fragnts, which ant he couldn't connect the pieces of insights together.

Nevertheless, he remained calm and continued to ascend.

Although slow, he kept climbing and solving the pieces of the puzzle the trial gave him. Soon he beca imrsed in this and forgot the ti.

Who knows how long it took but Ye Chen felt close to reaching sothing but no matter how hard he tried, he just failed to grasp it.

However, he priested and continued to climb the next steps while trying to solve the puzzle. Slowly yet surely the puzzle inside his head was getting solved and it was at this mont he grasped sothing.

What was it? A basic yet complete insight about breathing spiritual Qi.

For any cultivator, breathing spiritual Qi was nothing but a daily occurrence. So, no one cared about it, not even Ye Chen.

However, now he understood breathing spiritual Qi was not just so superficial technique.

In simple words, it was life linking to his mind, body, and spirit. It was harmony between heaven and earth. It was the authority to command the world. It was creation as every breath reshaped him. It was his presence; the realization he existed here and now.

The insights were all profound and basic; nevertheless, as soon as Ye Chen touched on these insights, a strange change took place in his body, especially the spiritual Qi he breathed instinctively, which beca purer, more abundant, and easier to control.

Ye Chen was a spiritual mountain and along with the changes in his body a few days ago, this should already be sothing normal and yes, it was.

However, only when he cultivated divine resonance arts! Which was a lot different than breathing instinctively, which can also help with recovery!

After gaining the insight of breathing, many things cleared up and the puzzle that had built up in his mind made sense.

Soon Ye Chen's speed of ascending increased and with each step he gained a piece of the puzzle, leading him into a mysterious state.

Just like this, he climbed up five hundred steps of trial and once again gained an insight.

What it was? Basic yet complete insight into Qi circulation.

With this insight, Ye Chen understood that the ridians aren't just pipes — they're rivers and just like how the two rivers don't flow the sa way, no two Qi should flow either. Then he also understood the harmony of yin and yang—where one doesn't force energy into place, they invite it to settle.

As he gained such profound insights, once again there were so changes that happened in his body, and although not much, they were effective, like he now knew all of his ridians like the back of his hand.

There was not even a need to look inside his ridians to see what was happening; he could just feel it.

However, this didn't stop here, as Ye Chen continued climbing, gaining more basic insights, which were contained in the mories of the Origin Foundation thod.

The next insights he gained were also the basic ones, such as posture and body alignnt, which helped him understand that the body is a temple and posture is how one honors it. He also learned that stillness was not the absence of motion but the presence of power.

The next insight was ntal focus, where he learned the mind doesn't need to be empty, but aligned; and the calst mind is not the quietest but the clearest.

Now the last basic insight was dantian nourishnt. Here he understood the dantian wasn't just a space or pot, but a seed that grows. He also learned that the core doesn't just hold power; it also nurtures destiny.

There were many insights that were hard to understand but they were what they were, and each of them ca with a benefit.

However, the biggest benefit was not this but the Origin Foundation thod, which was not too useful.

Why?

Because with the basic insights Ye Chen gained, the Origin Foundation thod worked a little differently!
