Luo Qiao finished packing, and it was already past ten o’clock. Lu Yichen had also called his aunt, saying he would bring someone home for lunch and asked to prepare a few more dishes.
When they were about to leave, Rong Daniang and Elder Rong came back, carrying a bag of glutinous rice cakes given by a friend.
They fetched another bag from the kitchen and divided some to take back to the Gu family, suggesting they fry or steam it in the evening for everyone to try.

The elderly couple smiled and saw them out to the front door, watching as their family left.
When they arrived at the Gu family home, they saw Lu Yiting standing at the front gate, and her son Kong Mingyang was ing out of the Gu Family Courtyard.
Seeing it was his second brother’s car, Lu Yiting was about to shout when she saw the second sister-in-law getting out of the car.
She exclaimed with excitement, “Second sister-in-law, when did you guys get back? Why didn’t my second brother mention it?”

Now Lu Yiting only had eyes for her second sister-in-law and niece and nephew, pletely ignoring her dear second brother.
Upon hearing the shouting, Gu Qianru rushed out without even putting down what she was holding in her hands.
Before she could even ask what was happening, she saw Luo Qiao walking towards the courtyard with the children, “When did you guys e back?”
Luo Qiao smiled, “We came back yesterday, specially brought the kids to spend New Year with grandpa and aunt.”
Gu Qianru hurried over and picked up Ye Zi who was closest to her: “Ye Zi, do you remember your aunty grandma?”
Luo Qiao carrying some items asked: “Aunt, where is grandpa?”
Gu Qianru holding Ye Zi couldn’t be happier: “Your grandpa is in the study, he must not have heard, or he would have e out already, e on, let’s go home.”
