Everyone burst into laughter again, and Qi Junrui didn’t feel embarrassed: "I was just afraid they’d mess up our relationship, so in my haste, I fell for Xiao Ye’s trick."
Xiao Ye wanted to say something but was glared at by his second sister.
He whispered, "She’s already protective even before getting married. Truly, girls are outward-bound."
Luo Qiao smiled, watching her children engage in their silent battle, and served Xiao Ye his favorite duck blood: "You know you can’t win against them, yet you still provoke them. Just eat."
Xiao Yu reached over with his bowl: "Mom, I want some too. I’m the youngest son in our family."
Luo Qiao glanced at her youngest son: "How old are you now? More childish than when you were little."
Xiao Rui also reached over with a bowl: "In front of our own mother, just do what makes you happy."
Lu Yichen reached over and took a colander, scooping a ladle for each son: "Eat up, this is a good deal."
Yanyan and Yueyue couldn’t hold it in any longer. Their shoulders shook, and finally, they couldn’t help but laugh out loud; even Luo Qiao couldn’t hold back her amusement when she looked at her son’s expressions.
Xiao Ye looked at his bowl and then at everyone: "Laugh, laugh, even if it’s not graceful, this is my dad’s love. You all envy me."
Luo Qiao laughed even more: "Xiao Ye, do you want your dad to love you more?"
Xiao Ye dared not be stubborn now: "Mom, please spare your son."
The room erupted in hearty laughter.
Rong Daniang went out and brought in the big lobsters from the stove: "The lobsters are here; everyone, try some. I’ll go get the dipping sauce."
Luo Chen got up: "Grandma Rong, you sit down, I’ll go get it."
When Luo Chen was ready with the sauce, everyone put on disposable gloves and dug in, giving thumbs up: "Fresh."
After eating, tidying up, and chatting a bit in the living room, they got up to bid farewell.
Luo Qiao prepared a lot of fruits for Luo Chen and Qi Junrui to take home for their families.
Not long after they left, a lawyer called to report the progress and explained the situation over there.
Luo Qiao felt soft-hearted upon hearing the pregnant woman’s situation, so she said, "Not pursuing legal liability is fine, but after he recovers, he must clarify the facts in front of the villagers and publicly apologize to us."
Lu Yichen glanced over after hearing Luo Qiao’s words, but he thought, whatever his wife wants is fine, as long as it makes her happy.

Actually, this is one aspect. She sympathizes with everyone except the driver, and secondly, she doesn’t want to damage Lu Yichen’s reputation; consider it her showing kindness, for the unborn child’s sake.
They are still in the hospital now, so even if things are handled, it will be dealt with in a month or so; anyway, she has entrusted the lawyer to handle it, so she doesn’t bother.
As for the police station, Lu Yichen called back, and sent people to investigate. Wait for the results, then decide. He distinguishes between public and private, just like Chai Gang; if he’s good, no problem. If there’s really an issue, he definitely can’t stay in that position to let his family act recklessly.
Luo Qiao checked the time: "Brother Chen, tell the kids to get some rest early; we’re going to my godmother’s place for New Year’s visit tomorrow."
