The price was indeed not cheap. Seeing Luo Qiao took a fancy to it, Lu Yichen told the salesperson to make out the bill and went straight to pay for it. Since their engagement, Luo Qiao had stopped fussing over such matters.
After all, even if she did fuss, Lu Yichen wouldn’t let her pay, so she simply stopped worrying about it. However, she also hadn’t skimped on preparing things for Lu Yichen in her everyday life.
While Lu Yichen was paying, Luo Qiao took Stone to browse around elsewhere.
When Lu Yichen found them, he whispered, “I asked, and there are two more in stock. I bought them all. You can bring one to Grandma later and take the other back to the second courtyard. It’ll be convenient for you.”
Luo Qiao hadn’t expected this man to be so considerate. Fifty-seven yuan each, he didn’t even blink before buying three. She couldn’t help but be moved.

But in his heart, he thought he’d tell the salesperson to reserve two more for him when they get restocked—one for the second courtyard and another to keep at his quarters. He hadn’t given a thought to his father-in-law at all, haha!
On her way out, Luo Qiao also bought two bags of milk powder on the second floor, planning to visit the hospital to check on her cousin after lunch.
When they went, they directly carried two rice cookers, thinking to head to her eldest brother’s place after visiting her cousin. They couldn’t just show up empty-handed; they wanted to lend a hand.
Upon arrival at the hospital, Lu Yichen and Stone didn’t go in, waiting outside instead since it was indeed somewhat inconvenient with all the maternity patients around.
Right at the door of the ward, Luo Qiao could hear the chaotic noise and children crying out loud. She frowned, wondering how they could rest well amidst such noise.
Entering, she saw an infant from the next bed crying, with the man trying to soothe it while the woman, seemingly frustrated by the crying, looked in bad spirits and said to her husband, “Why hasn’t the food from home arrived yet? I’m hungry enough as it is, does your mother not care for your child anymore?”
Luo Qiao sympathetically glanced at the woman in labor and walked further inside.
Sister Jialin was drinking porridge while her mother-in-law held the baby, and her brother-in-law was preparing milk. “Is that Qiaoqiao ing over?” Song Shiya asked.
Luo Qiao looked towards the baby, “Hmm, I came to see how Sister Jialin is doing.”
Song Shiya glanced at her daughter who was drinking porridge, “The doctor came to check earlier and said there’s no major issue. She just needs to recuperate during her confinement.”
Luo Qiao nodded and observed the situation in the ward, then whispered, “Aunt, would it be better to switch to a single or double room? It’s so noisy here; Sister Jialin and the baby won’t be able to rest properly.”
Song Shiya shook her head, “I asked; even the four-person rooms are considered good. There are six-person and eight-person rooms too. We’ll just endure it for a bit. The doctor said we can leave the hospital in two more days if there are no issues.”
After hearing this, Luo Qiao didn’t persist. After all, current conditions couldn’t pare to those of the future.
Just as Luo Qiao was about to say something else, she felt someone pulling her. Turning around, it was the woman in labor from the next bed. Luo Qiao asked in bewilderment, “Is there something you need?”
The woman lifted her head to look at Luo Qiao, “Could you let my son have some of the milk powder you’re holding?”
This was the first time Luo Qiao had encountered such a situation and couldn’t help but smile, “This is for my nephew, and it hasn’t been opened yet. If it’s urgent, I can sell a bag to you at the original price, and I’ll buy more for my nephew later.”
The woman’s eyes dimmed slightly, “We’re going to open it to drink anyway. Please be kind, just give a little to my son. Look, he’s been crying out of hunger for so long now.”
Song Shiya bristled at someone coveting her grandson’s nourishment, immediately saying, “What’s the matter with you, rade? Are you specifically targeting us? Earlier, my son-in-law already lent you four spoonfuls of milk powder. You said your mother-in-law would e and return it. Now you’ve got your eye on the milk powder my niece brought for her nephew.”
