The next morning, Luo Haotian called Luo Qiao.
Luo Qiao had just gotten out of bed and was ready to have breakfast before heading to the affiliated hospital. She had a pre-surgery consultation today and couldn’t afford to be late.
She had thought she would miss this surgery, but since she was back, she was not one to fuss about being tired. Professor Chang had high expectations for her, and now that she was back, she couldn’t let him down.
Lu Yichen changed his clothes and hugged Luo Qiao from behind, “Qiao Bao, aren’t you taking another day off?”
Luo Qiao said, “You know how tight my learning schedule has been this year, and besides, I don’t want to disappoint Professor Chang with today’s surgery.”
Lu Yichen kissed the top of Luo Qiao’s head, “You’ve worked hard, wife.”
Luo Qiao leaned into his chest and playfully asked, “Is there a reward?”
Lu Yichen whispered in her ear, “After you’re done with the busy schedule, we’ll work on having a baby.”
Luo Qiao turned around, wrapped her arms around Lu Yichen’s neck, and suppressed her smile, “What kind of reward is that?”
Lu Yichen cheekily said, “You’ve always liked kids, and last time you agreed not to oppose and just let nature take its course. Besides, you’re not lacking anything else; we just lack a little baby.”
Luo Qiao grabbed Lu Yichen’s ear, “You remember that quite well, don’t you?”
Lu Yichen, looking at Luo Qiao’s coy appearance and those peach-like lips, couldn’t help but kiss her.
Footsteps sounded from outside, “Qiaoqiao, you have a call, it’s from your father-in-law.”
Luo Qiao pushed Lu Yichen away and glared at him playfully, calming herself down a bit, she patted her somewhat heated face, “Auntie, I’ll be right there.”
After checking in the mirror that nothing was amiss, she made a face at Lu Yichen, then turned and ran outside; she was being more and more childish in front of Lu Yichen and had pletely adapted to life in this era.
The phone was still off the hook; Luo Qiao walked closer and picked it up, “Hello, Dad.”

“Dad, I’m really fine. I even have a surgery to perform today. I’ll head to the hospital shortly and will e see you at the factory once I’m done.”
“Okay, I’ll be waiting then.”
Luo Qiao didn’t ask how her father knew; she had a nagging feeling that her dad might have another identity.
After breakfast, Lu Yichen drove her to the hospital, agreeing to pick her up in the afternoon and have dinner at the Gu family’s place in the evening, as Old Master Gu had mentioned in the morning that he wanted to gather everyone.
Luo Qiao knew it was definitely because of the past few days’ events; her grandfather had something to say to everyone.
Lu Yichen was being increasingly childish, insisting on a farewell kiss from Luo Qiao before letting her out of the car, which left her both amused and exasperated. Seeing no one around, she quickly pecked his cheek like a thief, then opened the car door and got out.
Waving to Lu Yichen in the car, she said, “Drive carefully. No need to e over at noon; I’ll probably still be in the operating room. I’m going in now.”
Professor Chang looked relieved when he saw Luo Qiao; he thought to himself that she was a dedicated professional. Yesterday, when he called the Gu family, they had said she wasn’t back yet.
And yet, she was here first thing in the morning, which spoke volumes about her professional integrity, “Today’s surgery is very plex, prepare yourself mentally.”
Luo Qiao with a serious face said, “I did return a bit late last night, knowing today I’d have to perform surgery, so I rested early, don’t worry.”
Luo Qiao quickly changed her clothes and once everyone was present, they headed together to the wards to perform the pre-surgery consultation on the patient.
