Outside the Black Horse Club, eight burly n dressed in black suits escorted a woman in a red dress along the red carpet, like stars orbiting around the moon.
This woman in the red dress was tall, with fair skin, straight long black hair, and delicate features partially hidden behind a pair of sunglasses. Her entire presence radiated an aura that warned strangers to keep their distance. One glance was enough to reveal she was no ordinary figure.
“Sister Red!” The male hosts greeting guests at the entrance bowed simultaneously and spoke respectfully.
This woman in red was none other than the very culprit who had once victimized Yaeger. If it hadn’t been for her desire toward Yaeger, the latter would never have been forced by Wenzel, nearly reaching a dead end. One could say that without Sister Red, the current Yae-hi wouldn’t have existed.
Nurous wealthy ladies greeted her warmly. Sister Red simply responded with a polite nod. As the owner of the Black Horse Club, Sister Red remained a deeply mysterious figure. No one knew where she was born, her real na, her age, nor her place of residence. Everything about her was shrouded in mystery.
With her bodyguards leading the way, Sister Red quickly arrived at her own office. Since this club was the main branch of the Black Horse Club chain, she occasionally visited to check on operations.
Seated on her office chair, Sister Red gazed at the plump young man standing before her. He was dressed in a black suit, shaped almost like an egg due to his round physique.
Though not particularly good-looking, he had exceptional business acun and was one of Sister Red’s most capable assistants.
“No recent troubles, I hope?” Sister Red leaned back in her chair, crossed her slender legs, and spoke to the plump young man. Her voice was slightly husky, carrying a uniquely attractive charm.
“Everything at the club is operating as usual, Sister Red,” the plump young man replied respectfully, bowing his head slightly.
“That’s good then,” Sister Red nodded approvingly. “Did Wenzel manage to catch that boy for ?”
Hearing this question, the plump young man felt slightly puzzled: Wenzel’s funeral rites had already passed, why was Sister Red still asking about him?
Logically speaking, the news of Wenzel’s murder and the destruction of Cathay’s Small Sword Group should have reached everyone by now. But after thinking it over carefully, he realized it was normal. A prominent figure as busy as Sister Red wouldn’t have ti to keep track of the fate of local gangsters.
After a brief hesitation, the plump young man spoke, “Sister Red, actually, this is what happened…” He succinctly summarized recent events.
Listening silently, Sister Red maintained a blank expression, though inwardly she was quite astonished. How had so many things occurred in such a short ti while she was abroad?
“Since their leader is dead, our cooperation with the Small Sword Group ends here officially. Additionally, find another suitable organization to collaborate with. You must capture that boy, Yaeger, for within this month,” Sister Red instructed indifferently.
“Understood,” the plump young man responded promptly.
Sister Red uncrossed her legs and placed her hands on the table, leaning forward slightly and resting her smooth chin upon her right palm. “Does the club have any new ‘goods’ recently?” she asked casually.
“We have a few new male escorts with decent appearances,” the plump young man smiled.
“No notable backgrounds or social connections?” Sister Red questioned further.
“None whatsoever.”
“Excellent. Arrange for them to go overseas tomorrow. Use the sa ship as usual and ship them out secretly,” Sister Red ordered.
“Yes, Sister Red,” the assistant nodded vigorously.
He was extrely familiar with this procedure by now. After all, Sister Red routinely dispatched groups of individuals overseas to expand her business abroad every so often.
“You may leave now,” Sister Red said lazily, waving her hand slightly.
“Yes.” The plump young man turned to leave but suddenly rembered sothing and looked back at Sister Red again.
“Anything else?” Sister Red asked.
After hesitating briefly, the assistant spoke again. “Sister Red, actually… sothing strange happened in the club yesterday.”
“Oh? Do tell.” Hearing the phrase ‘sothing strange,’ Sister Red’s curiosity was imdiately piqued.
“Last night, after the kitchen staff had left, one of the male escorts sneaked into the kitchen looking for food. Then he witnessed sothing utterly horrifying!” the plump young man recounted with exaggerated fright, as though he’d personally witnessed the scene himself. With such acting talent, it was truly a waste for him not to pursue a career in film.
“What exactly did he see?” Sister Red asked eagerly, her interest thoroughly aroused.
“That escort saw a green cockroach devouring a rat alive!” The plump young man shuddered involuntarily, his face turning slightly pale.
“What? A green cockroach eating a live rat?” Sister Red was montarily stunned, utterly baffled by such absurdity. It sounded like complete nonsense!
“Yes. At first, I didn’t believe it either…until I saw that terrifying cockroach myself in the kitchen! It was huge, extrely fast, and glowed green! I summoned many staff to catch it, but it evaded us every ti!” Recalling that strangely intelligent cockroach, the plump young man couldn’t help but shiver, fear creeping into his heart.
He wasn’t even sure if the creature could truly be classified as a cockroach anymore. It was eating rats now; who knew if it might start devouring people next?
After hearing this, Sister Red’s expression shifted dramatically. Behind her sunglasses, a sharp gleam flashed in her eyes. “Take to the kitchen right away!” she said, her voice suddenly charged with excitent.
Although slightly confused by her reaction, the plump young man obediently led the way. They quickly made their way to the kitchen, swiftly dismissing all staff mbers inside.
“No one enters without my permission,” Sister Red commanded as she closed the door behind them.
Once the kitchen door closed, the plump young man’s confusion only deepened. Nonetheless, he obediently remained standing guard outside.
Inside the kitchen, Sister Red’s lips curled upward slightly. She could sense a faint yet peculiar presence nearby. It was hidden underneath the cabinet.
Slowly removing her sunglasses, Sister Red revealed a charming face, ripe and delicate as a peach. Yet even more striking were her unusual eyes. They were erald-green compound eyes!
“My dear little pet, you’d better co out obediently.” Sister Red approached the cabinet with graceful steps.
From beneath, a subtle rustling sound could be heard. Suddenly, a cockroach emitting a faint green glow, as large as a human palm, burst out from its hiding spot and rapidly flew toward the door, trying to escape.
Seeing this, Sister Red smiled elegantly. Opening her red lips slightly, she emitted a series of soundwaves inaudible to human ears, instantly covering every corner of the kitchen.
The large cockroach was undeniably swift, yet no matter how fast it moved, it couldn’t outpace sound itself. In the very next mont, the cockroach abruptly froze mid-air, completely immobilized.
“Hehe, indeed, it’s quite the oversized cockroach.” Sister Red walked over, picking up the motionless green insect and scrutinizing it carefully with her compound eyes.
At that instant, a startlingly human-like expression of fear erged within the insect’s eyes!
“So, you’ve gained sentience,” Sister Red murmured thoughtfully. “I initially assud this was a natural mutation, yet it seems this was artificially induced. But who could have done this?”
Gazing intently at the cockroach, her expression beca grave. “This person has abilities similar to the [Matriarch]… I need to return imdiately and report this discovery!”
After retrieving a plastic food storage bag from the countertop and sealing the green cockroach inside, Sister Red quickly exited the kitchen. “Contact our smuggling contact imdiately, we’re heading out to sea at once!”
Before the plump young man could speak, Sister Red had already given her command. He swiftly fell in step behind her, pulling out his phone to hastily make the call.
anwhile, within the ga, deep in the boundless ocean far beyond the Jade Empire, an island floated high in the sky.
Its na was Celestial Island.
At that mont, from inside a majestic palace swirling with ethereal mist, charming laughter echoed like silver bells. “Hehehe, as expected of myself! So effortlessly, I’ve created an external avatar capable of escaping the Heavenly Law’s restrictions!”
An exquisitely sculpted young girl, as delicate as jade and porcelain, gazed with satisfaction at another girl, equally beautiful, like her mirror image.
“Main body, will everything truly be alright?” the clone asked with a hint of concern.
Presently, Celestial Island was entirely confined by the Heavenly Law’s restrictions, resembling a vast, heavenly prison. When those restrictions might be lifted, no one knew.
Being outsiders, the island’s Celestials had little grounds for complaint. Surviving that great calamity had already been an enormous blessing for them. Demanding more might provoke rciless punishnt.
“Everything will be fine. Relax. After all, I’ve already latched onto Heavenly Law’s thigh. There’s no reason for Heavenly Law to harm ,” the barefooted girl in a flowing, silk-like garnt confidently assured her avatar, gently patting her shoulder.
“I sincerely hope so,” her clone nodded cautiously.
“From now on, your na shall be Zerene. Alright, Zerene, quickly sneak away from here and capture that individual connected to Heavenly Law for . With a tenth of my true strength, you’ll face no real opponents in this world. You have nothing to fear!”
The young girl stood proudly, hands resting on her waist, her face beaming with confidence.
“Understood,” Zerene replied calmly, smiling softly. “Main body, wish a speedy return.”
“Good luck, return quickly.” With a wave of her hand, a glowing portal instantly materialized beside her. “I’ve already opened the passage for you.”
“I’m off, main body.” Zerene nodded and swiftly leaped into the portal. In an instant, the portal vanished, and the young girl felt her clone’s presence disappear entirely.
“Hahaha, everything went so smoothly! It appears Heavenly Law is taking a nap,” the young girl laughed delightedly. Her avatar had successfully evaded Heavenly Law’s constraints, escaping Celestial Island entirely.
anwhile, outside Celestial Island, a flash of white light suddenly appeared in mid-air, revealing a petite, stunningly beautiful young girl cloaked in celestial energy.
“Hmph. Heavenly Law, so this is all you’re capable of?” Standing in an unfamiliar environnt and savoring the taste of freedom, Zerene sneered contemptuously, the corner of her mouth curling slightly upward.
However, before her words had fully faded away, the space around her suddenly trembled. Imdiately afterward, the air seed to solidify completely.
Zerene instantly beca alert. Looking upward, she saw that the starry night sky had suddenly been obscured by ominous black clouds.
‘No, these aren’t ordinary clouds…they are thunderclouds!’
Silver lightning twisted violently within the dark storm, emanating an ancient and overwhelming aura.
“A… A heavenly tribulation!? How can this be possible? I belong to the Celestial Race! Why am I facing a heavenly tribulation!?” Zerene cried out in fear.
Boom!
Responding to her panicked cry, a massive bolt of lightning as thick as a water barrel crashed down.
“Aaaahhhhh!” With no possibility of escape or defense, the lightning directly struck Zerene, imdiately eliciting a heart-wrenching scream.
In that instant, she was forcefully reminded of the terror of being dominated by the Heavenly Law. As the first lightning bolt dissipated, another golden-colored bolt swiftly descended.
“Heavenly Law! Big sister! I was wrong! I promise to never belittle you again, please forgive !”
Yet no matter how desperately Zerene pleaded for rcy, lightning bolts, each stronger than the last, continued relentlessly striking her small figure.
Finally, a black wall of electricity thundered down from the heavens, scorching Zerene until she was charred outside and thoroughly battered within, barely clinging onto life. Imdiately afterward, the tribulation clouds dispersed completely.
A small, frail figure fell silently into the endless ocean below, drifting southward with the ocean currents.
