“Who’s there?” Inside the house, Micha asked warily.

Earlier, the outsiders had been running amok, barging into hos and leaving the villagers in misery. Even the church had suffered damage, leaving him on high alert for any stragglers who might still be lurking.

“It’s ,” said Yaeger.

The voice sounded familiar. Micha paused for a mont, then suddenly realized who it was. He rushed to the door and flung it open. “Lord Angel!” he cried, imdiately dropping to his knees in excitent.

“…” Yaeger was montarily speechless. She couldn’t shake the feeling that these zealots all had a few screws loose. “What are you doing down there?”

“Lord Angel, I can die without regrets now! The Holy Light of the Goddess is shining upon my life!” Micha’s eyes were misty with emotion.

“……” The corner of Yaeger’s mouth twitched. She truly didn’t understand how these people’s minds worked. “Whatever, that’s not important. I ca to discuss sothing with you.”

“L-Lord Angel…” Micha was stunned.

‘What did she an, not important!? This was the most important mont of my entire life!’ But compared to the Angel’s business, his personal feelings had to take a back seat. He composed himself, stood up, and respectfully invited Yaeger inside.

After closing the door, Yaeger got straight to the point. “I’m here about the holy water.” She laid out the problem: the high cost of containers, and the difficulties in distributing the product widely.

“Lord Angel, that’s not a problem at all! I swear I’ll find a way to resolve it perfectly!” Micha slapped his chest with confidence.

“One ice crystal bottle costs a hundred gold coins. That’s no small sum,” Yaeger reminded him.

“No problem! I can handle it!” Micha replied with gusto.

“I need one million of them.”

At those words, Micha blinked, did a bit of ntal math, then nearly collapsed. Even if they sold the entire church, they couldn’t raise that kind of astronomical sum!

“T-This, uh…” Cold sweat beaded on his forehead. His lips trembled, and he couldn’t even form a full sentence.

“It’s not like we’ll need that many right away,” Yaeger said calmly. “It depends on how the plague develops. If more regions get infected, we’ll make preparations then.”

Micha exhaled in visible relief.

“For now, let’s use the 30-copper glass vials for the nearby areas. We’ll worry about distant regions later. Go ahead and gather a thousand glass vials and ten barrels of clean water.”

“Yes, Lord Angel. At once,” Micha replied respectfully. He promptly stepped out to carry out the task.

“Let’s try to wipe out the surrounding outbreaks by tomorrow,” Yaeger muttered with a sigh as a wave of exhaustion hit her.

The fight with the Ninth Apostle had taken more out of her than expected. To be precise, it was the Divine Blessing skill that had drained her stamina.

“It works well as a trump card, but it’s flawed as a regular combat thod. Compared to Divine Blessing, the berserk drug is actually more practical.”

She was still missing one ingredient, then she’d be able to brew the berserk drug.

“Right. This is a port village… I might be able to find what I need here.” Her eyes lit up. The first person who ca to mind was Angelica.

Now that the villagers knew it was she who had brought the Angel to save them, they were coming to her one by one to apologize and express their gratitude. Her reputation had turned around so quickly, it was like flipping a page in a book!

At this mont, Angelica had beco the most respected native in Aoma Village.

Though Yaeger herself, as Lord Angel, held even higher prestige, she couldn’t afford to show herself openly. Doing so would not only stir up unnecessary trouble, but might also expose her identity.

“Once this is done, I’ll go find Angelica.” Having decided on her plans for the evening, Yaeger walked into the living room, sat on the couch, and began waiting for Micha to finish preparing everything.

At the sa ti, in the Adventurer’s Guild in Jade City, Taurus and his senior officers sat around a table, each wearing an expression so dark it could drip ink. The atmosphere was heavy. No one dared to speak.

“What’s the progress?” Taurus asked coldly.

With an impassive face, S.K.Y. pulled up his ga interface and opened several chat logs. After scanning them carefully, he replied, “Eighty percent complete. By tomorrow morning, the entire main force should reach Level 20.”

The group’s eyes lit up at the news, clearly surprised. Though they already understood the power of money, they hadn’t expected it to be quite this overwhelming.

A faint smile tugged at Taurus’ lips. The bad mood he’d carried finally lifted sowhat. ‘My invincible army has finally reached Phase One. Once I kill that Black-Hearted Princess and steal everything she has, I can move into Phase Two!’

At that mont, his mind brimd with visions of fa and glory—countless voices chanting his na: “Taurus!”

“Good. You’ve done well,” he said with a nod, tone indifferent.

The calmness of his words made it difficult to guess what he was truly thinking. But S.K.Y. understood Taurus well. ‘This guy’s ambition is no joke,’ S.K.Y. thought to himself, lowering his gaze.

Suddenly, Taurus glanced at him, a trace of disdain flickering in his eyes. ‘This guy really is like a dog.’

After being cursed up and down yesterday, S.K.Y. was still here today, acting like nothing had happened. It was pathetic. Taurus knew so people had no choice but to bow their heads to survive, but S.K.Y. clearly wasn’t one of them.

The eting dragged on for another half hour. Then, without warning, the system’s voice rang out.

It was a global announcent. Players all over the world heard that slightly cold voice.

Ding!

Attention players: The ga will soon undergo maintenance. Version 1.01 will automatically install in 30 minutes. Please log out manually within the next 30 minutes. Otherwise, you will be forcibly disconnected. Any losses incurred will be your responsibility.

The ssage sent shockwaves through the player base.

“It’s only been a few days, and they’re already updating the ga?” S.K.Y. said in surprise.

“Could they be adding new content?” Taurus blinked, intrigued.

Across the globe, players found themselves staring at the sky, taphorical question marks popping above their heads. To them, this version update felt far too sudden. There had been no warning at all.

Back in Aoma Town, having just finished her tasks, Yaeger heard the system broadcast and froze, filled with confusion and questions. Then, a wave of alarm rose in her heart, “What’s going on? Why is the ga updating today… And I don’t rember there ever being a version 1.01!”

In her previous life, every update had been a full version number. A 0.1 update like this had never occurred!

“What’s happening? Can soone—anyone—tell ?” Looking up at the ceiling, Yaeger clenched her fists, her face slightly pale. Clearly, both the real world and the ga world were changing in ways she didn’t understand.

The hall remained silent. No answer ca.

Holding onto a mix of shock and anxiety, Yaeger waited for twenty-nine minutes. Still, her most beloved, most respected Sister System didn’t respond.

“…Forget it. Everything will be alright.” With a soft sigh, she opened her ga interface and tapped the logout button. Then her avatar disappeared with a flash of white light.

Yaeger slowly opened her eyes, then rose from the bed and whispered, “Things just got complicated.”
