“The update rolled out rather quickly,” she murmured as she stared at her phone screen. Her tone carried a chill that exuded an unusual sense of pressure.
“A new Job: Pugilist. Interesting. Might be fun to give it a try.”
After placing her glass on the table, Lisa sat upright and crossed her long, elegant legs. Had anyone been present to witness this casual gesture, their blood would have surged uncontrollably, their rational mind overwheld by primal instinct.
In the end, they’d have beco little more than a beast, lunging forward without a second thought.
“Bring a terminal.” With a snap of her fingers, a neatly dressed woman in her mid-twenties appeared in the living room.
