All the preparations laid out until now were about to bear fruit. The treasure vault he had long dread of was finally within reach. In that mont, he felt like he was standing at the peak of life itself, his heart and soul filled with bliss.
“Greed?” Yae-hi sheathed the Dragon Abyss Sword and stood tall, though her face remained visibly pale. She looked as if she were barely holding herself together.
‘She’s totally spent!’ Those words echoed through the minds of every player present. A few felt an odd wave of lancholy rise in their hearts.
Though the Black-hearted Princess was far from a hero, to see such a dominant force fall to ruin still stirred a sense of pity and regret. Of course, that was only a minority opinion. Most people were basking in schadenfreude.
They had long held resentnt and disdain for Yae-hi’s tyrannical rule over Jade City. But more than that, it had always been fear. Now, watching this forr ruler et such a pitiful end filled them with joy.
“If one has no desire for greed, then what makes them any different from salted fish?” Yae-hi replied with a bland tone.
Vanessa let out a cold laugh. “Know how to write the word ‘poor’? That’s the price of your insatiable greed.”
Taurus nodded. “Your mistake was not having the power to protect yourself. Today, you’ll lose everything.”
“How pitiful, how laughable, how tragic, how absurd.” S.K.Y. stared at Yae-hi, who stood alone in the middle of the encirclent, the smile on his lips growing deeper.
Yae-hi remained silent, seemingly calm. She gave off the impression of a sage facing death with serenity. Aloof. Unbothered. Dignified.
At that mont, Taurus snapped his fingers, and the surrounding players all activated their livestreams. The pitch-black screens of the livestream channels flickered back to life.
The viewers who had waited patiently were t with a strange scene: a lone girl, standing like a proud snow lotus, encircled by a sea of shadowy figures.
They stared, confused. Hadn’t the Black-hearted Princess just unleashed a terrifying sword formation that wiped out every player? Why were there still so many present on the battlefield? Not only were these players still around, they seed even stronger and more overwhelming!
Seeing everything unfold exactly as she had predicted, Mira’s lips curled into a faint smile.
“Black-hearted Princess, you’ve never died before, have you?” Taurus fixed his gaze on Yae-hi.
She still said nothing.
“Heh, seems like this will be your first ti. Good. Very good! Black-hearted Princess, your first death won’t co from a monster, nor from an NPC, but by my hands—, Taurus!”
He pointed directly at Yae-hi, proudly declaring to the world his claim to her first kill.
“Heh.” At last, Yae-hi responded. She revealed a dangerously seductive smile. Her gently parted cherry lips released words dripping with contempt. “You lot really think you’ve won, don’t you? That it’ll be easy to take down? Seriously now, do you not even realize you’re just a bunch of vegetables waiting to be harvested?”
The mont her voice fell, silver light exploded across the scene!
