So much information ca flooding in all at once that Yae-hi found it difficult to process. She just stood there, stunned, letting each system announcent sink in one by one.
‘Lili and I were already very close, so maxing out her favorability isn’t surprising. But Moon… we’ve only t twice. Why would her affection rise so drastically? Could it be because of Alicia? It wouldn’t be the first ti. When I cured Aurora before, Fiat’s favorability also soared. Moon is Alicia’s personal guard and the third-in-command of her organization, her attachnt to Alicia must run deep.’
Thinking that, Yae-hi nodded to herself. In any case, the first mystery was solved.
Next ca the second… The generous rewards. The reason she had received them was because she had broken through the level cap.
‘The key that allowed to do that was completing the foundation stage of the Green Emperor’s Longevity Technique.’
Just mastering the foundation had given her such incredible benefits. If she were to master the interdiate and advanced parts as well…
‘Wait, I don’t even have the interdiate or advanced parts! How am I supposed to train them?!’ Realizing this fact, the corner of her mouth twitched involuntarily. That so-called reward was just a beautiful pie drawn in the air, no guarantee she’d ever get a real bite of it.
Of course, having already tasted its sweetness once, Yae-hi wasn’t the type to simply walk away.
‘The real question now is… where do I find the other two parts?’
The first part of the Green Emperor’s Longevity Technique had been obtained through Alicia’s storyline quest. Logically, completing the entire questline should at least yield one more book.
But then another issue arose, if there were truly only two books, where would the last one co from? As she pondered this, Yae-hi suddenly lowered her head and looked at the Chaos Roulette.
‘Training to the Third Stage granted a hundred extra days of life. If nothing goes wrong, the third spin of the Chaos Roulette should cost forty-nine days of lifespan. If I only spin once, I’d still be making a profit… Wait, no—profit, my a̲s̲s̲! It’s obviously trying to tempt into spinning it again!’
And she wasn’t wrong to think that. Comparing the lifespan gained from each level of the Green Emperor’s Longevity Technique to the lifespan consud by each use of the Chaos Roulette, spinning it once did seem profitable.
However, could she really get what she wanted in just one spin? She seriously doubted it. If it were the Great Destiny Roulette, she might still have so confidence. But this damned Chaos Roulette? That was another story.
The first ti, she had drawn the Blessing of the Goddess of Fate, and turned into a girl because of it. The second ti, she had drawn a nearly useless Epic Equipnt Enhancent Manual.1 Clearly, Yae-hi’s Luck stat didn’t an much in front of this cursed roulette.
However, both the Chaos Roulette and the Lucky Lottery Tickets possessed one remarkable special trait.
‘These tickets and the roulette could even save my life in a critical mont.’
At present, Yae-hi had a total of eight2 Lucky Lottery Tickets and one chance to use the Chaos Roulette. In other words, she carried nine items in total, each acting like a personal charm of protection.
Among them, Lucky Lottery Tickets were rare and hard to co by, so naturally, the Chaos Roulette had higher priority when it ca to usage.
“Sis!” Lili’s joyful voice broke Yae-hi’s train of thought. Following the sound, Yae-hi turned to see Alicia’s eyelashes trembling slightly before she slowly opened her eyes.
“It feels like… I just had a very long dream…” Alicia murmured, still half asleep and dazed.
By then, Lili had already rushed to the bedside. She grasped Alicia’s hand tightly, her voice trembling with emotion. “Sis, I was so worried about you!”
It was Yae-hi’s first ti seeing Lili wear such an expression. That unrestrained, heartfelt emotion shining through her eyes was truly captivating.
“Lili… and my Child of Destiny…” Alicia glanced first at Lili beside her, then at Yae-hi, her face filled with confusion.
She had rely fallen asleep…
Suddenly, mories of what had happened before she lost consciousness returned, sending chills down her spine. Just as she was about to muster her strength to resist the earth energy, she realized that everything inside her body was perfectly normal, there wasn’t the slightest sign of abnormality.
“I’m fine? How could I possibly be fine?” Alicia exclaid in astonishnt.
“Of course you’re fine! We practically dragged you back from the gates of death!” Lili huffed, her tone both angry and relieved.
The excitent of relief gave way to heartfelt frustration. They had been safely hidden here, and all Alicia needed to do was rest and recover, but she just had to be impatient, rushing to restore her power in one go!
Lili clearly wasn’t happy about that. If not for Yae-hi’s tily help, she truly didn’t know how they could have saved Alicia. Even if Alicia had survived, she would have been left permanently crippled.
“I…” Alicia faltered, not knowing what to say. After all, she had been unconscious the entire ti and had no idea what had transpired.
“Sis, it went like this…” Lili imdiately began explaining everything to her.
As Alicia listened, her beautiful face twisted in shock, nearly contorting from disbelief. When she finally looked at Yae-hi again, her eyes were filled with both gratitude and relief.
This Child of Destiny truly was her blessing! Without her, Alicia might have died twice over already.
“I really don’t know how to thank you,” Alicia said softly. But just as the words left her lips, she suddenly felt a chill run across her skin. Looking down, she realized she was as bare as a newborn.
Her face instantly turned crimson, her body trembling ever so slightly. Still, she didn’t scream like a shy maiden. To Alicia, Lili was family. And as for Yae-hi… If Yae-hi wanted to look, she could let her.
Though it was undeniably embarrassing, so what?
“Why are you being so polite? Honestly.” Yae-hi brushed back a strand of her hair and smiled.
Helping Alicia was, in a sense, helping herself. After all, to gain Alicia’s favor was to gain the world. But truthfully, even without such a bond, Yae-hi would still have acted to save her. She simply couldn’t stand by and watch another person perish before her eyes.
Hearing that, Alicia lowered her head even further, as though to hide her shyness, or perhaps the tears welling in her eyes. This ti, she had nearly lost everything again. Fortunately, Yae-hi had pulled her back from the brink once more.
Fear lingered in her heart, mixing with a storm of gratitude, joy, and guilt that threatened to spill over. Overwheld, her emotions burst free.
Seeing her like this, Lili couldn’t hold back any longer and wrapped her arms tightly around Alicia. Tears welled up in both their eyes and finally slipped down their cheeks in unison.
Outside the cave, Moon leaned silently against the stone wall, her pitch-black eyes glimring faintly with moisture.
