“?” Suddenly questioned, Lili looked a little puzzled.
“Yes. I have sothing I want your help with. Are you free?” Yae-hi asked again.
Lili lifted her gaze at her, then looked toward Alicia.
The latter nodded. “Moon and Nectar are here. It’s fine.”
“Alright.” Lili withdrew her gaze and took Yae-hi’s hand. “Do I need to return to Aoma Village with you?”
“Yes,” Yae-hi replied.
More accurately, not going back to Aoma Village wasn’t an option at all. Considering those Apostles might strike tonight or early tomorrow morning, she naturally hoped Lili would co with her imdiately.
‘The Fifth Apostle was already that troubleso. If the Fourth and Third Apostles show up too, I’m done for!’ In reality, her worry was unnecessary. The group of Apostles had already left the Jade Empire and gone off to wreak havoc on the Sky Empire instead.
All that remained for her to deal with was a ss, though not the worst kind of ss.
“Sis, I’ll co right back after I finish things over there.” After speaking to Alicia, Lili turned to Yae-hi again.
“It’s getting dark. Let’s depart.” The danger level of this mountain range differed greatly between day and night. Nightti was far more perilous. She herself had no issue traveling alone, but bringing Yae-hi with her made things significantly harder.
After all, protecting soone and charging ahead alone were entirely different matters.
Neither of them dragged things out. Once they decided to go, they left imdiately. Before long, the cave was left with only Alicia.
“Little Hi grows at a speed that’s downright astonishing… so this is what it ans to be a Child of Destiny.” A faint smile appeared on her lips as she whispered to herself. Her expression then gradually turned serious. “Four or five more days, and I can take back what belongs to . Brother… no, Richard—just you wait!”
From the mont he attacked the underground maze and tried to kill her, Alicia had severed all ties with Richard completely. The two of them were already locked into a life-and-death grudge.
At the sa ti, in Jade City…
An extravagantly luxurious beast-drawn carriage slowly rolled out from the royal palace. Inside the carriage, Bishop Gurant, draped in a white robe threaded with gold, leaned back against the soft seat, his face openly filled with unrestrained joy.
Although he had long known this outco was possible, the mont it truly happened brought him a dreamlike sense of fulfillnt. It felt as though his entire being had been filled with delight.
“Praise the Goddess!” he suddenly raised both hands high and shouted. Yet not a trace of devotion could be seen in that expression. In this age where the gods no longer walked the world, many things had already decayed.
“This world no longer needs the old ‘gods’… We are the gods of a new era,” Gurant said with a smile as he lowered his hands. A faintly deranged fervor flickered in his expression.
anwhile, inside the Church of Light, the High Priest was apologizing profusely to Passat. His groveling posture was no different from that of a lowly servant, and he practically radiated eagerness to serve Passat at every turn.
In response, Passat only curled his lips into a cold, dismissive smile. Soone like this might be good for flattery, but absolutely unreliable for anything else.
‘A girl with a true heart like Irene is the only kind worthy of staying by my side!’ The elegance of that single hamr strike had left a deep mark on Passat’s heart. “I’m absolutely going to make her mine!” He brushed aside a strand of golden hair and declared with sudden confidence.
At those words, the High Priest’s eyelids and mouth twitched at the sa ti, his heart filled with bitterness. ‘It was . I clearly made the first move, I approached Passat first, I spoke with him first… so why did that little vixen swoop in ahead of !?’
He dread day and night of forming ties with the prestigious Aslan family. Yet this Passat had inexplicably beco infatuated with the vicious, violent fox who had assaulted him. And treated the High Priest’s loyal hints with nothing but cold laughter! It was utterly incomprehensible!
Elsewhere, Irene lay on her bed, letting out a soft sigh, her small face filled with worry. She now knew exactly where the man she hamred ca from, and she recalled the Aslan family’s influence across the southern continent. “If I lose the Saintess position over this, I’ll just have to find another solution.”
As for whether she regretted sending Passat flying with that hamr, of course she didn’t regret it one bit. What was done was done. Regret would change nothing. She only feared that losing the position of Saintess might deal a fatal blow to what she needed to accomplish. Other than that, she could not be bothered.
“What should I do…” At that mont, Irene felt an intense headache coming on. Without the Saintess position, she could not enter the Holy Land. That place was one ordinary people could never enter. That place held the very thing she had long dread of obtaining. Unfortunately, it now felt farther and farther away from her reach.
“Ugh, I don’t want to think about it anymore!” Irene yanked the blanket over her head, agitation filling her heart. At that mont, a person suddenly ca to mind. “If that bad girl were here, it’d be great…”
The “bad girl” she spoke of was undoubtedly referring to Yae-hi. That scourge of the empire feared nothing, had endless wicked ideas, and if she were here, she would definitely co up with a solution!
‘Bad girl, hurry and co help !’ Irene had never before longed for soone’s help this much. Unfortunately, no matter how loudly she cried out in her heart, the far-away Yae-hi could not hear her.

“It’s just gotten dark.” At this mont, Yae-hi and Lili appeared outside the Phantabeast Range. Yae-hi sounded relieved.
Lili nodded lightly. “We didn’t run into anything troubleso, so we saved a lot of ti.”
On the way out, they had only encountered a few low-level beasts with no sense of self-preservation. Lili had sliced through them as easily as chopping vegetables, so they never beca an issue.
“It’s deserted out here. We can’t even find a beast-drawn carriage. Why don’t we wait here for one to pass?” Yae-hi suggested. She absolutely did not want to run all the way back to Aoma Village, she would break her legs doing that.
Lili considered it briefly. “Yes, let’s wait for a carriage.” The distance to Aoma Village was still quite far. Even if she ran at full speed, it would take ti. And while she could make it there quickly, Yae-hi definitely could not.
The difference in their abilities was still very obvious. So after a brief mont of thought, Lili accepted her Little Hi’s suggestion. The two of them waited by the roadside for less than five minutes before a luxurious beast-drawn carriage approached.
“This one will do.” Yae-hi said as she put on her mask.
“Yes. It should be quite comfortable to ride.” Lili did the sa.
The mont they spoke, two dark figures appeared in the middle of the wide road. The carriage driver’s heart lurched sharply when he saw the sudden silhouettes. He imdiately assud it was a robbery.
After steadying himself slightly, he whipped the reins and accelerated straight toward them. In situations like this, running them over required no compensation!
Just as he believed the speeding carriage would send the two black-clad figures flying, the beasts pulling the carriage skidded to an abrupt stop. Their bodies trembled uncontrollably, as if they had encountered a natural predator.
“To Aureole Town, for two passengers.” At the sa ti, Yae-hi tossed over a small pouch of coins, which landed squarely on the panic-stricken driver’s lap.
