The world went dark before their eyes.
Before the massive claw could even descend, an overwhelming pressure of wind had already crashed down from above.
Yae-hi and Lili felt as if a small mountain were slamming toward them at terrifying speed. Neither of them dared hesitate. They stomped off the ground at the sa ti, flashing away to the left and right like bolts of lightning.
In the next instant, the gigantic claw smashed down with a thunderous boom, cracking the earth apart as shards of stone exploded into the air.
Had that strike landed on a human body, it would have pulverized it into a mist of blood.
Unfortunately, no matter how powerful an attack was, if it failed to hit its target, it was nothing more than wasted force.
Yae-hi stood atop a massive boulder, her right hand raising her sword while her left clenched two Holy Spirit Shards, her cherry lips parting softly, “Holy Spirit Power, Holy Spirit Armor, full release.”
Before her words had even faded, the two Holy Spirit Shards in her hand erupted with blinding golden radiance. The light imdiately wrapped around her body, transforming into a pillar of brilliance that shot straight into the heavens.
At that mont, everyone on the docks was utterly captivated by the radiant pillar. Even from far away, they could clearly sense that familiar sacred power.
“It’s the Lord Angel!”
“The Lord Angel is fighting that sea beast!”
“Lord Angel, you can do it!”
“May the Goddess bless you!”
In an instant, the crowd erupted with fervor, a wave of fanatic excitent spreading uncontrollably.
Layna and the others decisively moved farther away, afraid of being swept up by the contagious enthusiasm.
On the uninhabited island, the pillar of light faded, revealing a maiden clad in golden holy armor, her presence akin to a valkyrie descended from legend.
It was Yae-hi, empowered by two Holy Spirit Shards. At this mont, her strength had been pushed to its absolute peak. In fact, it was not over yet. She took out a bottle of crimson potion and tilted her head back, swallowing it in one go.
The instant she finished drinking, Lili felt Yae-hi’s life aura abruptly drop by half. Yet her combat power surged upward in a violent explosion! Only now had Yae-hi reached her true strongest state.
Lili withdrew her gaze. Even as surprise flickered through her eyes, a pair of chakram materialized in her hands.
Her nickna was Dual Axe Lili. In truth, her greatest mastery lay with the twin chakrams. The axes were nothing more than a disguise. When she wielded the chakrams, that was when she was at her strongest.
“Lili, end this quickly!” Yae-hi pointed her long sword, now fully dyed gold by holy light, straight at the sea beast. Her strongest state could not last long. She could not afford for the battle to drag on.
“Exactly what I was thinking.” Lili nodded lightly as a violent aura surged out from her small body, instantly condensing into pitch-black battle armor.
On the other side, the sea beast endured the searing pain wracking its body and, for the first ti, truly regarded these two tiny beings before it.
No, at this mont, they were no longer ants. They were two sea beasts of the sa rank as itself. A sharp sense of danger flooded its heart. The fish-serpent sea beast threw its head back and roared, its mouth opening wide as powerful soundwaves burst outward, blasting sand and stone in all directions.
It was as if a Category Twelve typhoon had swept through the area. Yet no matter how fierce its roar was, it failed to make the two of them budge even a step.
Formidable enemies. They were absolutely formidable enemies. The sea beast’s eyes widened abruptly as a column of pressurized water erupted from its mouth.
Only then did Yae-hi and Lili finally move. With a light tap of their toes, they instantly evaded the incoming high-pressure water jet.
In the next breath, they stepped onto the air itself, weapons in hand, and charged toward their foe at breakneck speed.
The high-pressure water column drilled straight into the ground, punching through the rocky surface with a deafening crash and leaving behind a massive cavern. That single strike was terrifyingly powerful. But again, an attack that missed was utterly aningless.
Yae-hi gripped her sword with both hands and raised it high overhead as golden light blossod along the blade. Lily’s chakrams flashed, black radiance flickering across their edges. The two launched their attacks in perfect unison.
Yae-hi’s sword cleaved down from above, golden light flooding the sky like a celestial river pouring down from the Ninth Heavens. Lili’s chakrams danced as jet-black energy erupted in full, surging upward like a chasm spewing forth abyssal power.
One was light. One was darkness.
Powers that should have stood in opposition instead fused flawlessly together, crashing down upon the sea beast in an overwhelming deluge. In that split second, a colossal explosion erupted, shaking both sky and sea.
Light and darkness detonated together, the violent shockwave expanding like a stellar halo and sweeping every loose object on the uninhabited island clean into the air.
If the fish-serpent sea beast’s roar had been a Category Twelve typhoon, then Yae-hi and Lili’s combined strike was nothing less than a Category Twelve tornado.
At this very mont, even the sea itself was forcibly carved into a spiraling vortex by the shockwave.
“Ah!” Angelica clung desperately to the cracks in the rock, struggling to withstand the residual impact, her body wracked with agony.
“Roar!” At the sa ti, an enraged bellow burst forth from the center of the explosion.
It was clear that the fish-serpent sea beast had not perished under the combined strike of Yae-hi and Lili.
Neither of them showed any surprise on their faces. Trying to eliminate this sea beast with just that single attack had always been wishful thinking. Everything was proceeding exactly as expected.
The dust was swiftly blown away, revealing the fish-serpent sea beast covered in wounds. Its once-proud scales had fallen away in large patches, erald-green blood continuously spilling out and turning the massive crater into a pool. A foul, fishy stench spread through the air, enough to make one retch.
It stared at Yae-hi and Lili floating in midair, its eyes shot through with bloodshot veins, its grotesque face twisted into an unmistakably human expression of rage. The fish-serpent sea beast was truly furious.
As a sea beast, it should have been the undisputed king of these coastal seas. Unrivaled. Yet these two unknown intruders had driven it into such a miserable state.
Sha. Rage. Hatred. Resentnt. Just as it was about to vent this storm of emotions, Yae-hi had already shot downward like an arrow loosed from a bow.
Lili followed closely behind, the chakrams in her hands flashing with piercing, icy radiance.
Seeing the two closing in at high speed, the fish-serpent sea beast felt both angered and amused. These tiny creatures actually dared to engage it in close combat. It was nothing short of laughable!
(I will let you witness the true power of the King of the Coastal Seas!)
Its grotesque face seed to radiate that very ssage.
Yae-hi had no way of understanding whatever it was trying to convey. Gripping her sword with both hands, she struck down imdiately like a bolt of thunder.
The Sword of Eternity replica, its blade gleaming with golden light, drove its sharp tip viciously into the exposed flesh where the fish-serpent sea beast had lost the protection of its scales.
Imnse holy power poured in without restraint, flooding its body in a violent surge.
At that mont, the fish-serpent sea beast felt as if its entire head were about to explode. That power behaved almost like a living thing, launching a ferocious assault within its body, especially concentrated around its head.
It experienced an excruciating agony as if every nerve were being severed one by one.
“Roar!” The fish-serpent sea beast let out a shrill, miserable howl, then rolled its enormous body, attempting to crush Yae-hi beneath its bulk.
Sensing its intent, Yae-hi imdiately yanked her sword free, kicked off its body, and leapt high into the air.
At the sa ti, the fish-serpent sea beast’s back slamd heavily into the ground, making the entire island shudder as if struck by a violent earthquake.
But it was not finished yet. It swiftly flipped over, and its long, thick black tail whipped up a towering wave, hurling it toward Yae-hi and the Lili who was about to seize the opening to attack!
The two exchanged a glance and nodded in unison, their figures flashing. They actually charged straight into the massive wave.
With a deafening boom, the wave that blotted out the sky crashed violently onto the uninhabited island, causing an even more intense tremor than before.
Angelica imdiately spat out a mouthful of blood as her body suffered heavy damage. Fortunately, the life energy Yae-hi had left within her was still abundant and quickly healed her injuries.
“What kind of terrifying battle is this, exactly…” Supporting herself against the rocky cliff, she looked toward the distant battlefield that had been reduced to utter ruin, her expression filled with shock as she spoke.
