The sea surface gradually returned to calm.
Lili and Yae-hi landed on the island together, their gazes turning toward the glowing object not far away.
With light, asured steps, the two approached it. The closer they got, the more intense the mysterious aura beca. At the sa ti, there was another powerful presence, faint yet unmistakable.
Toward this presence, Yae-hi felt an inexplicable sense of closeness.
“I’m sensing danger,” Lili said softly, her expression solemn.
“Really?” Yae-hi blinked, asking in confusion. She clearly did not sense anything similar.
“It feels like sothing extrely dangerous is wrapped inside,” Lili nodded, her expression growing even more serious.
“….” Yae-hi felt even more puzzled by that statent. ‘There is a very obvious gap between Lili and in terms of strength, but when it cos to perception, there shouldn’t be such a big difference…’
With a Luck value of 666, her sensitivity to danger far surpassed that of ordinary people. At tis, she could even foresee danger before it happened.
“That sea beast probably appeared in the sea shore waters because of this thing.” Recalling the fish-serpent sea beast’s earlier agony, then combining it with how it had fled in apparent relief, Lili arrived at that conclusion.
Yae-hi strongly agreed with her. After all, under normal circumstances, why would a sea beast willingly co to such a barren area with sparse mana?
“It probably thought it was sothing tasty and swallowed it,” Yae-hi said with a wry smile.
If Lili had not been there today, she alone really would not have had any way to drive off that fish-serpent sea beast.
“The intense pain in its stomach made it lose its sense of direction, causing it to dash around wildly before ending up here to rest on this uninhabited island.” Lili analyzed the situation briefly and felt her guess was likely very close to the truth.
“That’s very possible. It really did look like it was in a lot of pain earlier,” Yae-hi said.
“How should we deal with this thing?” Lili frowned slightly as she looked at the glowing object.
Because it was wrapped in a sphere of light, it was impossible to see what was inside. On the outside, arcs of electricity crackled and snapped, filling the air with sharp sizzling sounds and giving her an extrely dangerous feeling.
“Why don’t we get closer and take a look?” Yae-hi suggested. She did not sense any danger at all and could basically confirm that the object was harmless to her.
Lili hesitated for a mont, then nodded in agreent, ‘With here, it shouldn’t be a problem.’
The two cautiously approached the glowing object. Along the way, none of the dangers Lili had anticipated appeared.
At last, they stood directly in front of the glowing object. It was sothing shaped like a gigantic egg.
It radiated a powerful aura that made one’s heart tremble. Its surface crackled with flashing arcs of electricity, the air snapping and popping with sharp crackles as it was violently ionized.
“What are you trying to do?!” Seeing Yae-hi suddenly reach out, clearly intending to touch the lightning arcs, Lili hurriedly stopped her.
In her eyes, those lightning arcs were the most dangerous part. Far more dangerous than whatever lay inside.
“These lightning arcs contain an extrely profound power of destruction. You absolutely must not touch them!” Lili said sternly.
Hearing this, Yae-hi tilted her head slightly and asked in confusion, “But I don’t feel any danger at all. Could it be that my strength is too low, so I can’t sense it?”
“That’s possible.” As she said that, a wave of doubt surged in Lili’s heart. Those lightning arcs were openly releasing a dangerous aura. Yet her little Hi seed to genuinely feel nothing at all…
And Lili did not believe Yae-hi was the type to be careless or dull-witted.
‘Sothing’s strange. There must be sothing strange.’ Lili raised her head and carefully studied Yae-hi. The more she looked, the more beautiful she seed, until it beca impossible to grow tired of looking.
“Is there sothing on my face?” Yae-hi asked, touching her cheek.
“N-no, nothing! Forget it!” Lili hurriedly turned her head away toward the glowing giant egg. “This thing is really hard to deal with. It’s giving a headache.”
Yae-hi also looked at the glowing egg and said softly, “Then I’ll try touching it.”
Before figuring out what was inside, she truly could not feel at ease. Who knew whether this might beco a new disaster? It might even be more troubleso than that sea beast. If they did not resolve it now and it suddenly erupted later, it would be far too late.
After pondering for a mont, Lili shook her head. “I’ll try first.” As soon as she finished speaking, she released Yae-hi’s hand, stepped forward, and reached out with her small hand.
Before she could even get close to the giant egg, a bolt of lightning suddenly shot out and struck her hand.
“Uwaaah!” In the next instant, the girl’s shrill cry rang out across the island.
Seeing Lili’s entire body wreathed in crackling electricity, Yae-hi acted without a second thought and rushed to help. She placed one hand on Lili’s shoulder. It was an action driven purely by instinct.
The mont that pale, jade-like hand touched her shoulder, Lili’s mind went blank with a single thought: *Oh no.*
An attack she herself could barely endure was sothing little Hi could never withstand. Disaster felt inevitable. Yet, the outco she feared never ca. Those electric currents seed to be irresistibly drawn toward Yae-hi, transferring entirely from Lili’s body.
They then rapidly rged into Yae-hi’s body. The entire process was extrely fast. So fast that Lili barely had ti to react.
At that mont, Yae-hi only felt her body crackling, slightly uncomfortable. But that sensation lasted barely two seconds before disappearing.
What followed was a system notification. Her lightning-attribute resistance had increased. At the sa ti, an additional strand of profound, mysterious power appeared within her body.
“As expected, it has no effect on ,” Yae-hi said with a smile. Hearing that, and seeing her smile, Lili was completely dumbfounded, her jaw nearly dropping.
The lightning arcs that had caused her so much pain were absorbed just like that by Yae-hi. How was anyone supposed to believe that? After all, there was a huge gap in their strengths!
“How did you do that?” Lili asked in shock.
If she were not already sowhat used to Yae-hi’s astonishing feats, she would probably have been staring wide-eyed, jaw hanging open long ago.
“It just happened naturally,” Yae-hi answered honestly.
“That’s incredible. You must have so kind of special physique!” Lili said enviously. Other than that, she could not think of any other explanation.
“My physique is indeed a bit special.” Yae-hi nodded, then turned her gaze back to the glowing giant egg. “We can talk about my physique later. For now, let’s deal with this thing first.”
“Mhm.” Lili nodded lightly. Since her little Hi was not afraid of those lightning arcs, there was nothing left to worry about.
Yae-hi reached out once more. Before her hand even touched the glowing giant egg, the lightning arcs eagerly wrapped around her body, surging and pouring into her without restraint. In the next instant, her lightning-attribute resistance skyrocketed at an astonishing rate.
At first, that crackling sensation made her feel slightly uncomfortable. But once she grew accustod to it, it beca extraordinarily pleasant. It was as if every part of her body had been activated, bringing an intense, blissful sensation. So comfortable that Yae-hi nearly let out an embarrassingly cute sound.
On the other side, Lili was completely stunned. Because the lightning arcs surrounding the glowing giant egg had been absorbed entirely by Yae-hi in the blink of an eye!
“Ah~” Finally, at the mont her lightning-attribute resistance reached its peak, the beautiful girl could not help but let out a soul-stirring cry.
