Early morning.
After finishing a set of self-created Taiji outside, Yae-hi returned to the room, lay down on the bed, closed her eyes, and logged into the ga.
The morning air in Aoma Village carried a hint of chill. Inside the village chief’s guest room, two little girls were curled up together, still sleeping soundly. Suddenly, a figure appeared on the bed amid a soft white glow.
As if sensing a new source of warmth, the two little girls instinctively leaned over. Using both hands and feet, they clung to Yae-hi like koalas hugging a tree.
“I can’t move…” Their strength was astonishing, clamping onto Yae-hi’s body like a pair of iron pliers. “Forget it. I’ll just keep resting.” After struggling for a mont, she gave up helplessly.
Ti flew by, and an hour passed in the blink of an eye.
“Mmm~” Lili slowly opened her eyes, letting out a cute, lazy sound as her expression remained drowsy.
At the sa ti, Zerene’s eyelashes fluttered, and she gradually opened her clear, watery eyes as well.
“Good morning, Little Hi,” Lili said lazily.
“……” Only then did Zerene realize she was hugging Yae-hi, her small face flushing faintly red. Even so, she showed no intention of letting go.
“Good morning. Could you two let go of first? My bones are about to fall apart,” Yae-hi said with a look of utter misery. Being hugged to sleep by two beautiful girls was undoubtedly a blissful thing. But there was a prerequisite. Those two beautiful girls had to be soft and weak.
Unfortunately, whether it was Zerene or Lili, both possessed frightening strength. Being hugged by them unconsciously felt like having iron pliers tightening relentlessly around her body. It would be strange if that felt comfortable.
“Sorry, I didn’t an to,” Lili said, her pretty face reddening as she quickly released her limbs and shifted her body aside.
Seeing this, Zerene hesitated for a mont before imitating her and freeing Yae-hi as well.
“Did you sleep well?” Yae-hi asked as she got up from the bed and looked at the two of them.
“Mm, I slept really comfortably,” Lili said, nodding vigorously.
“Comfortable,” Zerene echoed softly.
Yae-hi reached out and patted Lili’s head, then turned to Zerene. “Did you rember anything?”
“No,” Zerene shook her head. Forget rembering anything. She had not even dread. She had slept straight through until morning.
“You’ve lost your mory, and you’re unfamiliar with everything around you. You might as well stay here for now and decide what to do once so of your mories return,” Yae-hi suggested.
After a brief mont of contemplation, Zerene nodded, her expression sowhat dazed. Seeing this, Lili imdiately felt a sense of crisis rising within her.
“Little Hi, I heard that for people with amnesia, giving their head a few hard knocks can help them recover very quickly.” She said it with a smile. Yet there was not the slightest warmth in her eyes.
“……” Zerene looked over. Her clear eyes were filled with undisguised surprise, along with a trace of hostility. She sensed an unfriendly aura coming from Lili.
“That’s a special asure. It shouldn’t be used lightly,” Yae-hi said. She had seen that kind of crude thod plenty of tis in over-the-top movies and TV dramas. In reality, even smashing soone’s head open would probably not achieve much.
After all, the human brain was incredibly delicate, nothing like old household appliances that could be fixed by giving them a few hard pats.
Hearing this, Zerene imdiately let out a sigh of relief. She had genuinely been afraid that Yae-hi would believe that little imp’s words and give her a round of knocking.
“When it cos to mory recovery, stimulation therapy is actually more effective,” Yae-hi said.
“Stimulation therapy?” Lili asked curiously.
“Yes. People with amnesia rarely lose all their mories. Otherwise, they would beco no different from a newborn baby,” Yae-hi explained.
Lili nodded. “So?”
“We can use fragnts of the amnesiac’s mories to find the things that left the deepest impression and stimulate the brain. By doing so, those scattered mories can be linked together and gradually restored. This process might be quick, or it might take a long ti,” Yae-hi said.
“Hey, is there anything you’re afraid of?” After hearing that, Lili imdiately turned to Zerene and asked.
“My na isn’t *hey*,” Zerene replied unhappily.
“Do you even have anything you’re afraid of or not?” Lili said, too lazy to argue and pressing on.
“……” That attitude made Zerene feel increasingly displeased.
The atmosphere at the scene instantly grew tense.
Yae-hi rolled her eyes, puzzled inside. Why did these two little ones seem to be at odds with each other?
“Let’s put the matter of mory recovery aside for now.” She reached out and gently patted both of their heads. Then she continued, “Zerene’s body hasn’t fully recovered yet. The most urgent matter is to heal her physically.”
“Alright,” Lili said, withdrawing her gaze and backing down.
Zerene obediently humd a soft acknowledgnt.
“No ti to waste. Zerene, lie down,” Yae-hi said as she stood up.
Lili rose as well, while Zerene complied and lay down.
“Alright, Li—Little Hi.” Hesitating for a mont, Zerene still followed Lili’s example and used Yae-hi’s nickna.
At those words, Lili’s small face puffed up slightly, irritation flashing in her eyes. ‘This brat is copying !’
Yae-hi, however, did not mind at all. After all, Lili was not the only one who called her Little Hi.
At that very mont, far away in the confinent chamber of the royal palace in Jade City, the Seventh Princess, Kastina, suddenly sneezed.
“Who’s badmouthing ?” she muttered in confusion. Inside the vast room, there was no response at all. “Is it just my imagination?” After glancing around, Kastina sat on the bed and gently swung her slender legs.
She looked extrely bored. “Hah… I wonder how Little Hi is doing.” Gazing at the wall not far away, she murmured softly.
***
Elsewhere, the Little Hi whom Kastina missed so dearly had already finished administering acupuncture to Zerene. While repairing her body, Yae-hi also absorbed that lightning energy imbued with profound laws.
After quite so ti, the golden bead within her body finished absorbing its allotted share for the day, releasing waves of dazzling light.
‘The lightning energy within Zerene’s body can indeed strengthen this bead. Although the effect is minimal, if this continues, it’s sothing to look forward to.’
“Mmm~ So comfy, I feel like I’m about to ascend~” At that mont, Zerene, whose body had been filled with life energy, suddenly let out a delighted sound that was all too easy to misunderstand.
It earned Yae-hi a huge eye-roll from Lili standing nearby. If she could, she would have loved to grab the soft flesh on the other girl’s belly and twist it hard!
“What, are your eyes uncomfortable?” Noticing Lili’s look, Yae-hi turned over with a hint of concern.
“Your eyes are the ones with problems!” Lili snapped, kicking out lightly and landing a not-too-heavy kick on Yae-hi.
The latter looked utterly baffled.
After finishing Zerene’s treatnt, Yae-hi led the two of them downstairs. At this mont, Angelica had already prepared breakfast.
Seated in the dining hall were Layna and the Fiat siblings, but Angelica’s father was nowhere to be seen.
“Good morning, Princess, Lady Lili, and this adorable little sister. I was just about to call you down for breakfast!” Angelica said with a smile.
“Good morning. Where’s your father?” Yae-hi asked casually.
“Father went out very early. There’s been a lot going on in the village lately, so he needs to take care of things as soon as possible,” Angelica replied.
“That’s hard work indeed,” Yae-hi said as she sat down, speaking while beckoning the two little ones to co over as well.
In Cathay, shared als were the easiest way to bring people closer together. Usually, after one al, even strangers would gradually beco familiar.
Sure enough, Zerene and Lili soon began competing over food, bickering with great enthusiasm. Seeing this, Yae-hi rely smiled faintly.
