Lin Ping remained silent.
Wu Yue didn’t interrupt either, but after chatting with her elder uncle for a while, she got up to leave.
"Sis, I’ll see you out."
Seeing Wu Yue stand up, Lin Dan hurriedly followed, and the two left the house.
"Tell , what favor are you planning to ask for this ti?"
The Lin family lived in a tube-shaped apartnt block, which was relatively spacious. At this mont, Wu Yue stood at the bottom of the building, looking at Lin Dan with eyes that clearly said, "I know exactly what you’re up to."
"Sis, before the matter concerning Comrade Kang Yiyang, I’ve never asked you for anything. And even the few tis I’ve asked you to help get so information about him from Comrade Kang Yiyang’s younger aunt, you haven’t really helped that much."
Lin Dan felt wronged and looked at Wu Yue with a trace of resentnt.
"Alright, alright, I was wrong," Wu Yue said, feeling sowhat exasperated by her sister’s stare. Rubbing her forehead, she asked, "Is it that you want to take you to visit Yangyang?"
Almost imdiately, Lin Dan nodded vigorously: "You’ll agree to it, sis?"
Wu Yue sighed deeply, lanting, "Love certainly blinds people. If you don’t end up with Yangyang, I fear you might beco the second Lady ng Jiang."
Upon hearing this, Lin Dan responded, "I won’t cry!" She was determined to try her best, but if things didn’t turn out as hoped, feeling upset was inevitable—yet to the point of tears streaming down and crying non-stop? That would certainly never happen to her.
"We’ll see about that!" Wu Yue said with a smile, curving the corners of her lips. "Let’s et up after work tomorrow. Rember this address and we’ll et there at that ti."
Wu Yue took a small notebook from her purse and quickly jotted down an address. Then she tore off the page and handed it to Lin Dan: "Rember to be reserved, or else you might not leave a good impression on Yangyang’s grandma."
"Ah? Comrade Kang Yiyang’s grandma is in North City, at his aunt’s house?"
Lin Dan was surprised, her mouth agape.
"Is it that strange? The old lady is staying at her daughter’s place; what’s so improper about it?" Wu Yue rolled her eyes. "Besides, my friend Kang Li has three kids. You’d better not co empty-handed."
"Sis, aren’t you underestimating ? I’m not stupid; I understand the ways of the world." With that, Lin Dan snorted with a touch of pride and added, "I’ll buy the gifts, and you don’t need to spend any money!"
Wu Yue flicked Lin Dan’s forehead with her finger and said with a laugh, "I’m also visiting Kang Li’s ho for the first ti, so I won’t be stingy enough to arrive empty-handed. Moreover, with the injured party Yangyang there, how could I not bring sothing over?"
"Got it, got it. You’ll handle the pleasantries, and I... I’ll visit on behalf of Daddy to check on Comrade Kang Yiyang." Lin Dan felt her logic was impeccable as she clapped her hands decisively: "Sis, it’s settled then. We’ll do it this way!"
"Fine, you nuisance!"
Wu Yue said with a playful scolding, waving her hand: "You go back, I’m off." After opening her umbrella, Wu Yue rode away on her bike, leaving as Lin Dan watched.
The next day.
The courtyard.
"Why are you here?"
After receiving a call from the comrade on gate duty at the courtyard entrance informing her of a visitor, Kang Li hung up and imdiately ca over. Seeing Wu Yue and Lin Dan standing outside the courtyard gate with their bicycles, she approached with a smile and asked that question.
Wu Yue: "Yangyang got injured, and I took the chance to co over after work today to check on him."
"Comrade Kang, I’m here on behalf of my father to visit Comrade Kang Yiyang." Lin Dan really wanted to address Kang Li as "young aunt," but it didn’t seem appropriate,
