The string of destiny felt too real to dismiss as rely an illusion created by magic.
The ssage carried such deep resonance with the power of the ’law’ of ’cosmic order’ that Lia could tell it had so truth to it.
"What is even going on?"
This ssage not only shook Lia to the very core, but it also made her feel perplexed about what was happening around her.
"Are you trying to imply that this scene is a mory captured from a possible alternate tiline? Are you trying to imply that if I were born untalented and were born as a failure, my parents would have loathed ?"
"That’s bullsh*t! I will not fall for such an obvious trick!"
As if reacting to Lia’s defiance, the scene around her changed once again.
This ti, Lia found herself standing in the academy library that she had often visited in her student days.
"No, I didn’t kill Kira! It has nothing to do with !!! Get away from !!"
"Let go! I haven’t done anything wrong!"
Bound with chains made up of powerful frost elentals, a familiar version of Lia was shouting at everyone desperately to prove her innocence.
But to her dismay, no one believed her!
Raji, who had bound her with chains of frost, was standing nearby with a cold expression on her face and wasn’t saying a single word; Kira’s dead body, sliced in two perfectly cut pieces, was on the floor not too far away and was leaking blood continuously.
Fade was staring at his dead girlfriend in shock and disbelief while Link, Riya, and Rio were all absent from the scene.
All the students nearby were either pointing their fingers at her or were whispering to each other while looking at her with imnse disgust on their faces!
Just when it seed like the situation was about to escalate, a grimoire flew out of sowhere deeper in the library, and a wave of miasmic corruption swept the entire library, forcing Raji to retreat to save the other students.
Lia, who was at the center of it all, got enveloped in thick miasmic corruption and got teleported away by a teleportation circle that appeared beneath her feet out of nowhere!
Seeing this scene, everyone started cursing Lia even more as they all beca sure that she was indeed the real culprit, as she had ties with miasmic corruption!
"That book... I know it... that was the book Rio snatched from that day..."
Seeing the entire scene, Lia couldn’t help but be shocked.
She had never even thought in her dreams that the book she had casually taken out of the library that day would turn out to be a sinister miasmic grimoire capable of forcing an SS-ranker to retreat.
The scene resonated so much with the strings of destiny that Lia couldn’t even confidently say that it was all fake; it seed extrely real as all of these events resonated with her soul greatly!
Before Lia could adapt to all of these events, the scene changed once again as she found herself standing in a dark throne room.
The teleported version of her that was covered in miasma constantly thrashed around madly to try to get rid of that miasma, but like a stubborn parasite, the miasma refused to let her go.
*AHHHHHHH!!!!* *AHHHHHH!!!!* *AHHHHHH!!!!*
The corrupted Lia scread at the top of her lungs due to imnse pain, fear, and desperation!
Her entire body twisted in various abstract forms as Lia felt like she was being destroyed from the inside out.
Her bones were crushed to dust, her muscles were ripped apart from each other one by one, and her heart was stabbed by countless needles made up of miasmic corruption over and over.
As if she had turned into a completely new being, her skin beca ash-grey, her hair beca dark purple, and her eyes beca pure white with no pupils inside them.
’Demonization...’
Lia was extrely familiar with this term and this process, as she had seen Jiang go through demonization during the final exams event in her first year of the academy.
’This is insane... How can this be even possible... Why would I turn into a demon... This is... this’
Lia tried to deny it over and over, but deep down in her heart, she realized that if she had never t Rio in this life, she might have indeed succumbed to the darkness residing in her heart.
Back then, it was really possible for her to kill Kira due to her overflowing jealousy towards her, and the outco of doing sothing like that would really have been very bad.
The scene in front of her felt so real and resonated with her so much that Lia almost started to believe that this kind of thing might have really happened to her if she had never t Rio in her life.
"Hoh? An interesting pawn has appeared..."
While Lia was busy thinking about various things in her mind, the situation changed.
An eerie and extrely uncomfortable-to-hear voice rang out in the throne room, grabbing the attention of both the real Lia and the demonized version of her.
The source of the voice was none other than the being sitting on the massive black throne.
The being had no proper form; the body was humanoid but covered in extre miasmic rot.
It was as if it were not a living creature but a dead body that had been rotting for a very long ti.
The creature had no facial features at all, as its entire head had been deford into an abstract form by miasmic corruption, and its entire skin had been molten away by miasmic rot.
The creature didn’t even have limbs, and only a single hand was still barely hanging onto the body!
That horribly deford and broken beyond repair body seed extrely weak and powerless, but the aura radiating from that body was so overwhelming that even the real Lia felt suffocated.
There was no doubt about the identity of that being; that being was without a doubt the one known as,
’The Current Demon King, Nebo Dahaka...’
Before Lia could gather her wits, the scene collapsed into darkness as another broken string of destiny floated to her side and gave her another ssage.
{Alternate Tiline: 2: Possibility 1: Gave up to despair and darkness; the possibility of this happening should have been almost certain!}
{Destination End Point: Slaughtered your kin, killed your father, tortured your own loved ones, and finally died a aningless death because of miasma. A truly pointless life.}
