Xue Zhiyi motioned to An’an, signaling him to follow him out, giving the family of three so space.
An’an followed Xue Zhiyi out.
After breakfast, Xue Zhiyi applied so dicine and then fell into a deep sleep.
He didn’t wake up until dusk, and as soon as he woke up, An’an called him away.
It turns out Xiaoxiao had prepared a special al to thank Xue Zhiyi.
As soon as Xue Zhiyi entered the room, he slled the aroma and asked while walking in, "How’s the child?"
"All better! Just like before, so lively. See? On the heated bed, he just fell asleep." Xiaoxiao said happily.
Xue Zhiyi nodded, then was invited to the table by Yang Ming. Yang Ming then said, "Divine Doctor Xue, we owe it all to you this ti. My wife and I didn’t know how to thank you, so we borrowed your place and made a table of dishes."
"Yes, really, thank you so much this ti." Xiaoxiao quickly thanked him as well.
Xue Zhiyi sat down and looked at the table full of dishes, suddenly rembering the last ti Xiaoxiao eagerly made him food.
He smiled slightly and teased, "I don’t eat spicy!"
"..."
"Too salty won’t do either!"
Xiaoxiao was a bit embarrassed being ntioned. Last ti, she indeed wanted to punish him a bit, but who would have thought he was so clever, she didn’t get him, yet got herself instead.
She awkwardly laughed, "This ti, it’s made sincerely, not salty or spicy!"
Xue Zhiyi was just joking around, and he then picked up his chopsticks, saying, "Then let’s dig in!"
"Alright, let’s eat." Xiaoxiao said while also inviting An’an to sit.
After everyone settled down, Yang Ming stood up and poured tea for both Xue Zhiyi and himself.
"Divine Doctor Xue, I’m toasting you with tea in place of wine, to thank you for helping us this ti."
Initially, he wanted to use wine, but Yang Ming considered Xue Zhiyi’s injury and his unsuitability for alcohol, so he used tea instead.
Xue Zhiyi politely stood up as well, and their cups clinked together and they drank it all, sowhat resolving past issues.
They sat down, and everyone started eating. Xiaoxiao asked, "Divine Doctor Xue, will there be any aftereffects for the child later?"
This was Xiaoxiao’s biggest concern. The child seed fine now, but she was afraid of future problems.
"Rest assured, the child won’t have any aftereffects after detoxification, but..."
"But what?" Yang Ming and Xiaoxiao said in unison, showing their anxiety about the matter.
"But can you two not call Divine Doctor Xue at every turn?"
Xue Zhiyi was helpless. He didn’t want to hide his identity, but he didn’t want everyone everywhere to know either!
"Then how should we address you?"
Xue Zhiyi thought for a mont, then said, "Just call Brother Xue."
Although he was older, his ntality wasn’t aged, and he didn’t want to be called the old man.
Despite so internal grumbling, Yang Ming and Xiaoxiao agreed and started calling him, "Brother Xue."
This al was the most enjoyable one they had shared since they’d known each other.
Every prior al had always been so awkward, mainly due to Xue Zhiyi himself.
After the al, Little Liufu happened to wake up, and Xiaoxiao busied herself with caring for him, while An’an was occupied clearing the dishes.
Taking advantage of this gap, Xue Zhiyi patted Yang Ming on the shoulder.
Yang Ming looked at Xue Zhiyi, only to see him gesture towards the door, indicating for him to go outside.
Though unsure of what Xue Zhiyi wanted to talk about, Yang Ming followed him out.
