Aunt Lan Hua went next door with a purpose.
At that ti, the sound of diligent studying could still be heard from next door; classes weren’t over yet.
Seeing Alu in the courtyard, she called out, "Girl, co here for a mont."
Alu noticed Aunt Lan Hua calling her over and approached, feeling puzzled, as this neighbor often acted arrogantly, looking down on her as if she were a master.
Was the sun rising from the west today? She was actually smiling.
She walked to the doorway and asked, "Aunt, what’s the matter?"
Aunt Lan Hua glanced into the courtyard and, not seeing Li Chuntao, asked, "Is your mistress at ho?"
"Aunt, is there sothing you need from my mistress?" Alu inquired.
Aunt Lan Hua’s eyes darted around as she replied, "It’s actually nothing big."
"Aunt, if it’s nothing major, you can tell . My mistress isn’t feeling well and is resting in her room. If it’s nothing important, it’s best not to disturb her."
Upon hearing this, Aunt Lan Hua thought of what her younger daughter told her about being tricked into the mountains and knocking out Yang Daniu.
Li Chuntao must have been quite scared, which is why she locked herself inside.
Aunt Lan Hua guessed this had hit her hard, so she wouldn’t leave the house for a while.
So she said, "It’s nothing major, really. It’s just that my daughter Xiaocui wasn’t feeling well this afternoon. She’s lying at ho and can’t co over. I wanted to inform your mistress."
"I see, it’s fine. Your daughter Xiaocui and my mistress are on good terms. Let her rest at ho. She can co over after she feels better." Alu remarked with a smile, though she was pondering that Yang Xiaocui certainly had her own issues.
Claiming to be unwell, she went up the mountain. Although Alu didn’t follow Yang Xiaocui, she didn’t forget to check when Yang Xiaocui returned.
Alu saw Yang Xiaocui return with disheveled hair and also witnessed Aunt Lan Hua questioning her.
Today, she deliberately revealed to Aunt Lan Hua that Yang Xiaocui wasn’t at the Academy, and it indeed raised Aunt Lan Hua’s suspicions.
Now, this aunt was helping her daughter lie about it, indicating they were definitely hiding sothing.
What exactly were they hiding?
Alu thought to herself that once her mistress felt better, she would share all her observations.
"Well, thank you then," Aunt Lan Hua expressed her gratitude and went back ho.
After returning, she saw her young daughter bathing. She understood her daughter’s intent and let her continue. After her daughter finished, she entered the room.
"Xiaocui, it seems Li Chuntao next door was quite terrified too, locking herself inside and not going out. For a few days, we won’t bother with her for now; she probably won’t co out. After a while, we’ll find a way to involve her with Yang Daniu, and perhaps then, Yang Daniu will focus on Li Chuntao."
"Yes," Yang Xiaocui responded, now resigned to following her mother’s lead.
"As for marrying Yang Dong soon, I have an idea." Aunt Lan Hua leaned in close and whispered into Yang Xiaocui’s ear.
Yang Xiaocui widened her eyes in disbelief and asked, "Mother, do you think that’ll work?"
"Why wouldn’t it? Trust your mother, it’ll be fine."
