As soon as these words were spoken, the few masters in the room were imdiately taken aback. They were already pleading on his behalf; if he continued speaking like this, wouldn’t he definitely be expelled from the school?
Doctor’s master, seeing this, angrily rebuked him in an attempt to stop Doctor from speaking further, "Doctor!"
At this mont, Doctor’s senior uncle, upon hearing Doctor’s words, imdiately widened his eyes, his eyebrows stood on end, veins bulged on his face, and he shouted angrily, "Old five, let him speak."
Although Doctor’s master closed his mouth, he still shook his head and glared, signaling Doctor not to speak.
Seeing his master’s worried expression, Doctor felt deeply grateful for his master’s care over the years. However, he thought, since things had co to this point, why couldn’t he express his thoughts before leaving? What was wrong with curing and saving people? The fault lay in the rigid rules of dicine King Valley.
Previously, when he wasn’t guarding the gate, he didn’t feel much about it. But these days, he had seen so many disappointed expressions leaving, simply because dicine King Valley couldn’t help; his inner thoughts began to change as a result.
His gaze was determined, he pressed his lips together and spoke.
"Honored masters, I don’t think I did anything wrong."
"These days I have been guarding the gate and have seen many patients turned away. I have been thinking, why do we, the people of dicine King Valley, learn dicine?"
"Isn’t it to treat patients? But our people from dicine King Valley don’t treat the sick, isn’t that very strange?"
"I don’t know who set this rule in dicine King Valley, but it is unreasonable."
Upon hearing Doctor question the rules set by the ancestors of dicine King Valley, the faces of the five masters in the room turned dark. The doctor’s master further reminded his disciple not to speak anymore; this was practically provoking the ancestors of dicine King Valley, "Doctor, stop talking."
Doctor’s senior uncle’s hands on his thighs trembled slightly. He growled lowly, "Let him speak. I didn’t think he had so much bottled up inside him."
Although the faces of the masters turned even darker, Doctor saw this but still chose to speak.
"It’s often said that the people of dicine King Valley have great dical skills, but I doubt it. There are very few patients we can see here in dicine King Valley. Without patients, how can our dical skills improve?"
"Perhaps we are not even as skilled as the doctors in the pharmacies outside? They see patients with various conditions daily, but we cannot."
"Take that family of three outside, for example. They just want us to confirm whether the child was poisoned. It’s unfortunate that my dical skills were insufficient, and I couldn’t determine it."
"But the doctors outside clearly stated that the child was poisoned and would not live beyond two months. Though they could not detoxify, they could still identify the problem."
Upon hearing Doctor’s words, the masters began to ponder. Among many disciples, Doctor’s skills were not the best but above average, yet he couldn’t diagnose the illness. Could it be, as he said, that the dical skills of the people from dicine King Valley are inferior, and not as good as the doctors outside?
"Honored masters, I have said all I need to. Now I will leave dicine King Valley. Thank you, masters, for taking care of over the years." With that, Doctor kowtowed a few tis on the ground.
He wanted to say these words before leaving, hoping it would help the family of three outside. Maybe the masters would consider offering help because of what he said.
