Only Mo Qiuyue’s walk was a bit strange; who knows who she learned it from. At such a young age, with her fra not yet fully grown, she had already started to sway her hips and swing her arms, giving off the air of a willow swaying in the breeze.

And Mo Qiuyue’s gaze kept drifting behind her, as if she was looking for soone in the crowd?

Gu Jinli followed her gaze and saw the back of her elder brother’s head, instantly understanding.

She silently cursed at Mo Qiuyue and, looking at He Sanlai guarding the entrance, said, "Your family’s 600 copper coins are about to fly away, aren’t you and your wife going to do sothing about it?"

She had told He Sanlai and his wife before that if the Mo Family ca to make trouble once, she would dock a month’s wages from both of them.

He Sanlai, having seen so many important figures coming to the Gu Family Workshop to celebrate, was utterly over the moon.

Oh, his God, the Gu Family was not simply having auspicious smoke rising from their ancestral graves; it was a full-blown fire! During the unveiling of the workshop’s signboard, even the Lord County Captain brought his children and sons-in-law; they were much more impressive than the Lu Family.

Thinking about Old Master Lu’s house, who had opened a few shops, but never had the County Governor co over in person for the opening—the most was Concubine Lu sending over servants with congratulatory gifts to save face for the Lu Family.

And then thinking back to what the Lu Family had told them—just act as enforcers for their family, do the work well, and there would be a chance to et the County Governor, to work in the County Governor Mansion and live a good life. To hell with that good life, that’s just deceiving ghosts.

And he truly believed such deceiving ghosts’ words before, acting as an enforcer for the Lu Family, but after so many years of doing their dirty work, he hadn’t even t a direct relative from County Magistrate Zou’s Family. The thought alone made him seethe.

Now look at him; he had only worked for the Gu Family for half a month, and he had already t the Lord County Captain.

No, he was getting too carried away with excitent.

While he was floating on cloud nine, he suddenly heard what Gu Jinli had said. What? His family’s 600 copper coins were about to fly away? This won’t do.

"Wife, co out quickly, your family’s here!" He Sanlai shouted towards Mo Chunyue, who was working in the courtyard, grabbed a wooden stick by the side, bolted out of the workshop’s main gate, and ran towards Old Mrs. Mo and the others.

County Captain Jiang and the others, hearing the commotion, looked down the village road from the workshop and saw an old woman pulling two children running towards them, while He Sanlai was charging in their direction. Another young woman rushed out of the workshop’s courtyard, with a broom covered in mud in her hand.

Gu Jinli laughed and said, "It’s nothing, that’s the grandmother from the Mo Family, coming to find her granddaughter and son-in-law."

Upon hearing this, County Captain Jiang and the others chuckled and, without paying further attention to Old Mrs. Mo’s situation, happily proceeded towards the workshop courtyard.

Seeing that Gu Jin’an was about to follow the group into the courtyard, Mo Qiuyue grew anxious and shouted loudly, "Brother An~"

From a distance, everyone couldn’t hear clearly, but Gu Jinli heard it quite distinctly.

She originally thought she had misunderstood, but it turned out Mo Qiuyue did indeed have such intentions. Fine, she would indulge her.

"Third Grandpa, you go on in first; I’ll go with He Sanlai and his wife to have a look." She played a little trick, pulling aside Gu Jin’an who was following Gu Dashan, and whispered, "Brother, after you’ve taken County Captain Jiang and the others in, co stand at the entrance for a bit."

Gu Jin’an frowned upon hearing her, not knowing what she planned to do, but he still nodded and agreed: "Okay."

Seeing that Gu Jinli had agreed, she quickly ran towards Old Mrs. Mo and the others.

Qin San Lang, afraid that Gu Jinli might be at a disadvantage, also followed her.

Village Chief He, along with He Dacang and He Jinseng, followed Third Grandpa to welco County Captain Jiang. Although they couldn’t speak with County Captain Jiang, they were extrely excited, knowing that the Gu Family truly had made connections with the County Captain and were on the rise. As the He family was on good terms with the Gu Family, they too could benefit.

While they were enjoying their excitent, they suddenly heard Gu Jinli’s words and saw Old Mrs. Mo hurrying over, it was clear to them what was happening. They were extrely anxious and feared that trouble might ensue. After so thought, they decided not to follow Third Grandpa inside and, with He Dacang, quickly made their way down as well.

In no ti, several groups departed from the Gu Family Workshop and jogged towards Old Mrs. Mo – even a fool would know sothing was amiss.

But County Captain Jiang and his party were experienced and knew that so matters were better left unasked, so they feigned ignorance and happily followed Third Grandpa into the workshop, waiting for the unveiling and grand opening at the appointed ti.

He Sanlai, who was quick on his feet, had already run up to Old Mrs. Mo. Blocking her way with a stick, he cursed: "Old Devout Woman, haven’t I told you many tis not to co looking for us and also not to bother the Qin, Gu, and Luotian families? Are you deaf? You never rember, hurry up and scram, or I’ll split you alive."

Saying this, he raised the wooden stick high, as if to strike Old Mrs. Mo.

Old Mrs. Mo wasn’t one to be easily trampled upon. Seeing that she was now closer to the Gu Family Workshop, she imdiately sat on the ground with Mo Dongyue and Mo Xiangbei, and began to weep loudly: "Chunyue, oh my granddaughter, have pity on your grandparents, your younger brother and sister at ho. We don’t even have a single grain left, if you don’t care for us, we are going to starve to death, woo woo woo..."

Old Mrs. Mo didn’t curse, instead, she just wept about poverty and misery, trying to look pitiful so that the Gu Family would compromise and give them money.

Hearing her words, He Sanlai spat at her in anger: "Pah, who is your granddaughter? Ever since you accepted the five taels of silver from the He Family mbers, Chunyue is no longer a part of your Mo Family. She has nothing to do with your Mo Family anymore."

Old Mrs. Mo ignored this jab and when she saw Mo Chunyue approaching, she cried directly at her: "Chunyue, oh my dear granddaughter, please be rciful. Give so silver coin to our family, save your young brother and sister at ho."

With that, Old Mrs. Mo pinched Mo Dongyue and Mo Xiangbei, causing the two children to burst into loud cries.

"Woo woo woo, big sister, please, ask the Gu Family for so silver to buy grain, without food we are going to starve to death, woo woo woo..."

Mo Dongyue and Mo Xiangbei, following what their family mbers instructed, kept crying incessantly. Old Mrs. Mo held them, and the three of them wailed tragically and pitifully.

Mo Chunyue trembled with anger. Very well, seeing that coming on strong hadn’t worked, they had changed their approach to a softer tactic, and they even chose the day of the Gu Family Workshop’s grand opening to create a disturbance. It seed they would not rest until they had ruined her.

Seeing Mo Chunyue shaking with rage, Old Mrs. Mo felt she had won and cried even harder; when she could not produce tears, she simply wailed loudly.

When Gu Jinli arrived, what she saw was this scene, and she couldn’t help it, a laugh escaped her, briefly interrupting Old Mrs. Mo’s fervent weeping.

Gu Jinli quickly said, "Don’t mind , continue crying, Village Chief He is about to arrive."

No sooner had she finished speaking than Village Chief He and He Dacang ca running, pointing at them and scolding: "Mo Family, what do you think you’re doing? Choosing the ti of the Gu Family Workshop’s grand opening to create trouble, it seems you no longer wish to stay in the village. If you really don’t want to stay, then get out, get out of Da Feng Village right away!"
