This matter all started because of Li Shuangxi.
After Mrs. Li died on the escape route from famine, Old Master Li feared he too would die on the road, so he sexually abused all of the unmarried maids in the Li Family.
Li Shuangxi was able to escape misfortune because of Li Daxi.
After knowing Old Master Li’s intentions, Li Daxi found a fortune-teller among the fleeing refugees, provided him with food and water, and had him tell Old Master Li that Li Shuangxi and he were dragon and phoenix twins with deep blessings, and were celestial children descended from heaven. As long as they remained virgins, they could protect the people around them as well as the Li Family.
The fortune-teller also exaggerated so dangerous incidents that the Li Family encountered on the escape route, adding fuel to the fire: "Old Master Li, your family’s escape from these calamities was all thanks to the efforts of the Li Shuangxi siblings."
The people of Great Chu believe in this, and Old Master Li, being afraid of death, thus did not touch Li Shuangxi.
But after settling down, Old Master Li thought, since Li Shuangxi is a blessed person, wouldn’t the good fortune transfer to him if he slept with her?
Elder Li Si got wind of this and also wanted a share of the good fortune, and father and son were preparing to sleep with Li Shuangxi.
Elder Li Si was an idiot. He thought Li Daxi would be delighted for his sister to serve their father and son, even telling Li Daxi: "Once this is done, my dad will take your sister as a concubine, and your whole family can just wait to enjoy the good fortune."

When Gu Jinli heard about this, she was furious. The Li Family father and son enjoyed provoking, did they? She would give the father and son a stimulating gift—a big surprise!
Afterwards, Gu Jinli began preparing to take revenge on the Li Family father and son, and by the ti she was ready, Gu Dashan and the others had also rescued Li Duofu and his son.
Gu Dashan and the others ca back the next afternoon, and as soon as they arrived at the Jiang Residence, Gu Dashan took Li Duofu and son to see Gu Daya.

But Master Qi was a Scholar, and his elder brother was a Capital Official. He managed to secure an identity for Li Duofu’s family—that of servants of the Qi Family. Now, with the Qi Family’s rcy, they had been freed, and as long as the head of the household stepped in to assist with the household registration, it could be easily accomplished.
