anwhile, sowhere in the Kings region.
A woman scratched her head. "Urgh… I drank too much last night. Where did I end up?"
She looked around herself, seeing nothing recognizable.
"I think it's that way?" she muttered to herself as she picked a direction and started walking over.
Eventually, after scaling a ledge, she finally saw soone she could talk to for directions.
"You! Co here and answer my question," she said to a loneso farr.
The farr looked at her and her weird get-up. She didn't look like she was from here. Her way of speaking was strange too. "Uh… can I help you, miss?"
"Yes, tell where Kingsbridge Town is located," the woman demanded, but with a soft tone.
The farr scratched his head. "I don't know where that is, miss. Sorry. But maybe you can ask the people in the truck stop. They'll know where that is. Maybe you'll even get to hitch a ride."
The woman seed offended by that. "What do I need to 'hitch' a ride for?"
Still, she walked to where the farr pointed at.
But before she left, she turned around. "Anyway, thanks for the information. Take this and be grateful," she said, tossing a large, glistening ore.
The man felt dragged down by the ore as he caught it. His eyes widened. This was pure gold! Weighing almost half his weight!
He turned towards the woman to thank her, but she was already gone.
"Who was that?" he asked himself.
Then, he turned forward to look down at the ledge where she climbed up from.
"Did she get lost because of this?
He was staring at a large crater on the ground, a few hundred ters in diater. It was as if sothing large and heavy crashed into the ground and tore everything asunder.
Even the surrounding trees were burning and on fire—which was the reason that drew him here in the first place.
"What kind of creature could have caused this?"
…
…
…
The woman continued walking until she finally slled the hints of a civilization.
But there was sothing different now. A few years ago when she first visited Kingsbridge, the human town didn't sll so… oily.
Not only that, but there were a lot of things different now. The town seed to be besieged by monsters that uttered a guttural roar like vroom vroom!
"Hey miss! Are you lost?"
Eventually, soone saw her aimlessly wandering on the outskirts of the town.
The woman put her hands on her waist. "I am never lost."
The villager looked at the woman with pity. In his eyes, she looked like a beggar, with her clothes full of burned holes as if she just survived a fire outbreak.
"You sure you okay? You want so food? You look like you need so food."
The woman shook her head. "Unlike most of my kind, I do not derive joy from consuming sustenance. I just need to find Kingsbridge to search for soone."
However, the villager was insistent. "Co on. These chicken burgers are famous here. It's even said that even the infamous Draconians will bow down for a taste of McTony's!"
The woman froze, her expression darkening. This was an insult that she couldn't ignore.
But the villager didn't seem to understand the gravity of the situation. He simply reached into his rucksack and took out a small box containing a single McTony Chicken Sandwich, their newest product.
And as soon as he revealed it, the woman's eyes widened.
The sll was absolutely alluring.
She imdiately snatched the box away from the villager's hands.
The cardboard began to burn under her touch, revealing the chicken burger inside.
"Woah! Cool power miss!"
The woman ignored him. She focused on the chicken, inspecting its properties with great focus.
Eventually, she deed it safe.
Then, she took a single bite. And as soon as the famous 'spicy' flavor of the chicken hit her tongue, her irises enlarged with amusent.
"What is this?!"
…
…
McTony's! Michael had been so busy with everything that he completely forgot about Reborn's food-based subcompany.
Last he rembered, Tony and his son Remy were still trying to figure out how to make their chickens survive the long-distance journey for better delivery.
As far as he heard, they hadn't achieved that goal yet. The McTony's chicken was still only good for around a day or two, unlike the fried chickens from a certain chain restaurant that McTony's was nad after. Those chickens could be frozen and reheated for basically as long as they wanted. But because of the special ingredient in the McTony's that caused that tingling, magical sensation in the mouth, their chicken was only good for consumption for a small amount of ti.
"I wonder how McTony's doing…"
"They're doing great, Lord Michael."
Michael jumped as he heard Sheina behind him. He didn't even notice that she was there.
"Would you like for to tell you the current situation for our subcompany?" she asked him with a smile.
He nodded.
As it turned out, McTony's was slowly but surely increasing their reputation amongst the Rebornian territories.
It helped that their first branch was located in the truck stop of the Reborn highway, allowing for good visibility amongst the people travelling to and fro to the Nation of Reborn.
And due to their popularity, McTony's established their second territory alongside another truck stop on the highway.
Then, the next branch popped up. And the next.
After months and months of constant progress, the McTony's beca synonymous with travelling. You had to buy McTony's during your journey. It wouldn't be complete without it.
And currently, the newest branch of McTony's was located in between Angora City and tropolis, which was how the tropolitans were able to take ho a box of left-over chicken.
"Miss Castelle is also planning on adding another branch of McTony's once we establish our Road System in New Sparta," Sheina added.
Michael nodded. That was a good idea. Maybe, he would even add the ice cream to the nu as a desert.
