If it were any other person in this room, they would have quickly asked Eldea to produce concrete proof.
But who were these people? They were the leaders and patriarchs of the Upper Echelon companies who had been dealing with Reborn this entire ti.
They'd watched as Reborn pulled off miracle after miracle, defying odds and doing the impossible left and right.
They were rely a Lower Echelon by the start of the Feast. But by the end, they'd solidified themselves to beco an Upper Echelon. And just this day alone, they even looked like they were hungry for more and wanted to rise up the ranks of the Upper Echelon!
Michael, the young golden-haired teen in front of them, had turned out to be a Nascent Spirit cultivator! The youngest one to achieve such a realm!
This was completely unheard of.
But that wasn't even the only aspect of Reborn that was infuriating. They were the only ones who were able to turn a demi-human into a Maugnetic! That was thought of to have been impossible!
In fact, this was the very reason as to why these Rebornian opposition were so hesitant to dismiss Eldea's words as nothing more than a bluff.
After all, demi-human Maugnetics were the first of their kind. Whose to say that they weren't also able to awaken the Ancient Roar?
And they hit the nail on the head. As leaders of Upper Echelons, these people were able to smartly assess their situation and maneuver through them like a snake.
They all nodded at each other, a silent understanding overcoming them all. A red, sinister glint even appeared in their eyes.
And soon, they began their new assault.
"We'll have Jaku co here at once," said Eldea. "This is a good opportunity as I haven't been able to relay the good news to him. It would be good to see his face once he finds out, don't you think, Michael?"
Imdiately, the Rebornian opposition stood up and raised their hands in protest.
"No, it is fine. We have been mistaken. As a Heavenly Mistress, you do not owe us any explanation as to why you chose your successor."
"That is right. Perhaps you fancied the youth, being the only demi-human Maugnetic. That is already quite a feat on its own."
"True! True!"
These people were thick-faced. Just a few seconds ago, they were fiercely protesting Eldea's words. And the next, they completely changed their words and agreed with her choice.
"Very well then. That ans that my vote is valid, correct? I shall then say 'Nay' as my vote, vetoing the abrupt conclusion of the Feast. It shall continue!" she proclaid.
However, Rebornian's opposition once again raised their hands. "Wait a minute, Heavenly Swordmistress. That was not our only mistake.
Let us ask ourselves. Why have we gathered here in the first place? Is it not because we wish the Draconian Charys to diate over our decisions? We have realized that it is extrely rude for us to exclude her in our votes."
Gourdon and Wadeby imdiately retorted the hypocrisy. "You were the ones who proposed the vote in the first place!"
"Now that we have the majority, you're once again changing the ga, just like what happened in the Feast!"
The Rebornian opposition kept their composure against this barrage.
"We have said those words because we thought that Charys would not be able to attend today's summit.
But like natural things in the world, the circumstances have changed. We have just received word that Charys will be returning to New Sparta to relay her vote on this matter."
Gourdon and Wadeby both looked at each other confused. They hadn't heard about any of this.
Even Infernus looked a little bit shocked. He was also told that Charys wouldn't be returning at least until tomorrow!
And after seeing his reaction, Gourdon and Wadeby realized what the opposition was doing.
They were stalling!
They had lied about the information about Charys returning to New Sparta. But who would dare reject their words?
If they instead went ahead with the vote, then the Draconians would consider it as a great offense that they did not wait for Charys, incurring their wrath.
It didn't matter if they lied. Right now, it would take at least the entire afternoon for a ssenger to reach Charys and confirm her absence during the entire summit.
And without that confirmation, they couldn't so easily disregard the information that she was coming back!
But even still, there was sothing weird about this whole thing.
Gourdon and Wadeby both looked at each other, frowning.
Yes, the opposition was stalling for ti. But that would only end up benefitting the Reborn company. If the Feast still persisted till the afternoon and into evening, then they would have the ti to accumulate tokens and probably reach the top 3, disregarding the very reason as to why they had this summit in the first place.
They just couldn't understand why they would do this. It seed counter-intuitive.
And it was at this point that Michael started to laugh.
This caught the attention of everyone in the room.
"Sothing funny there, junior?" the opposition asked.
Michael nodded. "Yes, it was very funny. I just saw sothing interesting."
Everyone gave him weird looks. After all, they all saw him just staring out in the open, doing nothing. How was the ceiling in any way entertaining? Had the young teen advanced too fast in cultivation that he had gone crazy?
But in truth, Michael had his focus on his Mini Drones. And through their perspective, he saw sothing truly laughable.
"Forgive for our intrusion, but you did it first," Michael said.
Then, he straightened his gaze. "Co here," he commanded.
And it was at this mont that dark shadows appeared on the ground beside Michael, startling all of the Upper Echelon leaders in the room.
A mont later, figures started to ascend from the shadows.
It was none other than the Dragonborns, holding what seed to be bloodied figures in front of them.
