Selena Kensington didn’t want to sit and wait for doom anymore.
She originally thought that after dealing with Roxanne Sutton and Sidney Dalton, she could peacefully live with Sterling Norwood.
But now she realized that what’s blocking her path is still a shroud of mystery.
An unknown fog.
Selena found Cassia Lawson’s old ho.
It was in a village not far from the city.
When Selena saw Cassia, she was just hanging out clothes.
The luxurious jewelry and dresses she used to wear were gone, and this version of Cassia was actually more pleasing to Selena.
When Cassia saw Selena, her hand trembled, nearly losing her grip on the basin.
She instinctively wanted to hide inside the house.
But Selena blocked her just one step ahead.
"Aunt, long ti no see."
Selena looked at the flustered Cassia with a half-smile.
Cassia’s gaze was evasive. "What do you want?"
"Don’t worry, I’m not here to settle scores, just to ask you sothing."
Cassia looked at her for a while before finally inviting her inside. "Co in."
Selena followed her in and glanced around, asking, "Where is Miranda Kensington?"
Cassia sighed and didn’t speak.
Selena raised an eyebrow slightly.
With Cassia’s savings, and considering that after Mason Kensington went to prison, she sold those jewels, they shouldn’t have fallen into such dire straits.
There’s only one reason—Miranda Kensington.
After Cassia took Miranda away, she still dread of rising again.
She wandered around the city alone with Cassia’s money and got involved with a thug.
That thug splurged Miranda’s money everywhere and deceived her emotionally before also taking her money.
Miranda was utterly shattered and now goes to stir trouble with that thug every few days.
This, Cassia might not know yet.
"Aunt, ten years ago... you must know sothing about it, right?"
Selena asked tentatively.
Cassia’s hand holding the teacup trembled, and a flash of panic and fear appeared in her eyes.
She put the teacup in front of Selena and said, pretending to be calm, "What are you talking about? I don’t know."
Selena smiled slightly. "I’ve already visited Uncle in prison. I think there’s no need for you to keep it from any longer."
She changed her tone, threatening, "Or, do you want to bring Miranda here before you’ll talk?"
Cassia’s eyes widened. "What do you want to do to Miranda? She doesn’t know anything!"
The smile at the corner of Selena’s mouth disappeared, and her eyes turned cold. "I don’t have ti to play gas with you. You’d better tell everything clearly, or I can’t guarantee Miranda’s safety!"
Cassia’s body trembled slightly.
After a long mont, she finally spoke resignedly, "I know very little."
Selena said nothing, waiting for her to continue.
"Ten years ago, your parents took you to Oakhaven, and after returning for a few days, they went to Oakhaven again. Connor’s will was drafted during that period."
"But, on the way from the Oakhaven airport to the Rivers Family for the second ti, you suddenly had a car accident. By the ti we got the news, it was when the Jennings family sent you back."
"I also don’t know why only you survived. At that ti, you didn’t rember anything..."
These things, Selena could figure out with a little guesswork, but they weren’t what she wanted to hear.
Selena cast a dangerous glance at Cassia.
Cassia paused before continuing, "During your second trip to Oakhaven... I vaguely heard Mason on the phone with soone, discussing sothing. I only vaguely heard the words ’car accident.’
Fearing Selena wouldn’t believe her, Cassia hurriedly added, "Even this was kept from by Mason, so I only know this much!"
