After dealing with this examiner, there was no so-called path selection.

Instead, after the door opened, they arrived directly at the plaza at the bottom of the prison.

"Congratulations on being the first group to pass the test! To think all of you passed? Your luck is truly not bad!"

The Warden's voice echoed from the wall.

The empty plaza currently only held Riku's group of five.

"We... passed? Just... just like that..."

Ponzu still felt like she was dreaming.

She was still dizzy to this mont.

Throughout the entire process, aside from falling down and bumping her butt, she hadn't done a single thing.

And then... she passed.

This was probably the legendary 'Destiny Carry' match.

Should I just take out Hisoka right here? Riku smiled and looked in Hisoka's direction.

The Murder Clown also looked over, his face full of smiles.

The two locked eyes for a second before looking away.

Forget it.

Let's get the license first.

Only with a license could one step into many places and beco stronger in this world.

Either go find that group of top-tier Pro Hunters to farm traits, like Ging and the Zodiacs.

Or go exterminate the Chira Ants and step into the Dark Continent!

That was the true high-end gaplay.

The rougher the waves, the bigger the catch.

And the foundational condition for all of this was possessing a legal Hunter License.

Therefore, Riku was determined to pass this exam.

He couldn't just get branded as a nationwide wanted criminal by the Hunter Association before even getting his license.

Playing the ga like that wouldn't be fun.

So he patiently waited here for now.

Soon, other candidates appeared one after another.

Like the martial artist Bodoro, the snake charr Bourbon, and others.

They were all relatively strong individuals.

The clock on the wall was counting down.

People kept erging from the doors, and a few even collapsed on the ground the mont they stepped out, dying of heart failure from extre physical exhaustion.

After their deaths were confird, they were directly dragged away.

It was a grueso sight.

"Hmm?"

Riku glanced at the countdown on the wall and couldn't help but frown.

Gon-kun and the others were really dragging their feet. Had they really not co out yet?

Logically speaking, Hisoka, the Pinhead Illumi, and Hanzo were all by his side; the other candidates shouldn't pose any threat to them!

"Last thirty seconds!!"

The large loudspeaker on the wall blared.

Once the ti was up, if they hadn't co out, it would be considered a complete failure.

"Waaaah—"

"We're here!!"

Suddenly, a familiar voice ca from one of the doors.

It was none other than Gon-kun and the others.

The group was covered in dirt, looking like they had just slid down a chute.

It seed they had encountered the legendary 5-choose-3 path!

How helpless, their efficiency was truly low.

"Riku-nii!!"

"Big Brother Riku!!"

Upon seeing Riku, Gon-kun and the others imdiately rushed over excitedly.

"Ti is up!!"

"The number of people who passed the Third Phase is twenty-four! Among them, five died! Everyone, please step outside! I am already waiting for you all out there!"

The voice from the loudspeaker instructed.

Only then did Hisoka and the others stand up.

All 24 people who passed were the true elite of the elites.

Every single one of them looked like soone you shouldn't ss with.

Riku followed the large group out of the prison.

Bright sunlight shone down.

Making people instinctively narrow their eyes.

A gentle breeze blew, and the sunlight was warm.

He didn't expect the weather outside to be so nice.

Looking back, he saw that the prison behind them pierced straight into the clouds like a towering monunt.

Everyone had descended all the way from the very top of that prison.

"Congratulations, everyone, for making it out of Trick Tower. Now there are only the Fourth Phase and the Final Phase left. Two more hurdles!"

A man with a mohawk and black-rimd glasses spoke with a smile, his hands resting behind his back.

This guy was the Warden, Lippo, who was also the Chief Examiner for this phase.

"The Fourth Phase will take place on Zevil Island. Before that, please co over and draw lots."

A black lottery box was brought out.

The familiar lot-drawing process began.

The rules of this phase were very simple.

All the candidates who passed went up to draw a lot.

The number they drew represented the ID badge they had to target. Once they obtained their designated target's ID badge, they would directly earn three points.

Additionally, keeping their own ID badge safely until the end of the exam would also earn them three points.

Taking non-designated ID badges from other people would earn one point each.

Accumulating a total of 6 points would grant a direct pass.

According to this elimination system, even if everyone was lucky enough to get their target's badge, at least half of the people would be eliminated.

aning a maximum of 12 people would pass, but that was completely unrealistic.

Because no one could guarantee that everyone would keep their own badge AND manage to steal their designated badge.

So guys might even hold extra badges.

Which ant the final number of people to pass would likely be around a handful.

No wonder so few people obtained a license every year in the Pro Hunter Exam.

Everyone went up to draw lots one by one.

Riku also picked his lot.

However, after seeing the number on his card, Riku froze for a mont.

301!

Oh ho!

To think he drew the Pinhead Illumi. Did this count as [Strong Luck]?

Hehe.

What a pity.

He didn't draw Hisoka, which was slightly disappointing.

"What did you guys draw?"

Riku called out to Gon-kun and the others.

Oh ho!

Gon-kun actually drew number 44, Hisoka!

Was this the power of destiny? Or the blessing of strong luck?

Very nice!

The others also drew their respective cards. Killua got number 191, the martial artist Bodoro—a weakling.

Leorio actually didn't get Ponzu, but candidate number 34, Ryu.

Kurapika got number 197, Amori.

After drawing their cards, the candidates present hastily took off the ID badges from their chests.

Because everyone understood that the badge on their chest would beco the most obvious target.

However, there were a few who didn't take them off.

Riku, Killua, Hisoka, and the Pinhead Illumi.

"Riku-nii... why aren't you guys taking off your badges? You'll easily beco a target for everyone like this."

Gon-kun was a bit worried.

"Having opponents co to you is the joy of the competition."

Killua had his hands in his pockets, looking effortlessly cool.

Riku, however, suddenly stepped forward.

His gaze swept over the candidates present.

Then he shouted loudly.

"Everyone, I am number 406! Who among you drew my number?"

Riku's voice echoed clearly.

Only a thief can steal for a thousand days; how can one guard against a thief for a thousand days?

The badge on his chest would indeed attract a swarm of flies, but it was also like bait for fishing.

However, Riku couldn't be bothered to waste ti playing hide-and-seek with these guys.

Whoever drew his number, he could just eliminate them on the spot.

Resolving the unknown trouble right now would leave the rest of the week for a pleasant hunt.

"..."

The crowd was instantly silenced by Riku's bold move.

"Damn it! This guy is too arrogant, actually directly revealing his number and calling us out!"

"Hmph! Being arrogant in a place like this will only make him die faster."

"If I'm not mistaken, that island is mostly jungle. In the jungle, I have ten thousand ways to make him disappear."

"Don't worry, soone will teach him a lesson! He will definitely regret being so cocky."

...

No one spoke up, but many were whispering about Riku.

The looks they gave Riku were full of displeasure.

Riku being so high-profile—wasn't that mocking their incompetence?

"No one?"

Riku was a bit stunned, then smiled. It seed his target was afraid of him.

Then it didn't matter.

He would just deal with whatever ca his way.

"I... I drew your number!"

Suddenly.

A voice rang out from the crowd.
