Dolle Harbor Port.

The heavily scarred ship docked at the pier.

The red-nosed Captain, Kazuo, and the others personally disembarked to see them off.

"This is the next exam location, Mr. Riku. You have shown true righteousness. I sincerely hope you can pass this Hunter Exam. The human world needs an upright powerhouse like you to protect it!"

The red-nosed Captain said to Riku with utmost respect.

He even changed how he addressed him to 'Mr. Riku', speaking with clear reverence!

Riku saving Kurapika last night had shocked the entire crew enough to last a whole year.

It was their first ti seeing a monster capable of surviving such a terrifying storm.

"I will, Captain. I also wish you and everyone a safe voyage,"

Riku replied with a smile.

He was mostly filled with goodwill toward this world.

Because he had originally co to this world all alone, and it was the people of Whale Island who gave him the life he had now.

"I will give you all one last piece of information. Do you see that massive cedar tree? Just head in that direction; it is a shortcut leading straight to the exam venue!"

"Thank you, Captain! This is great, Riku-nii!"

Gon-kun was beyond excited.

The four of them said their goodbyes to the Captain and left together.

...

Dolle Harbor was a port city, much more prosperous than Whale Island.

Coupled with the fact that it was exactly the ti of the Hunter Exam, candidates from all over the world were being dropped off here, making it exceptionally bustling.

"Yesterday... thank you. I owe you a massive favor! If there is anything you need, I can do it for you, but please, let it be after I have completed my revenge."

Kurapika stopped in his tracks and spoke to Riku with absolute solemnity.

Leorio and Gon-kun also stopped. Since they had worked together to save Kazuo yesterday, they could definitely be considered friends now.

This was how the four of them ford their bond.

"Don't ntion it. I do indeed know so information about your clan, but in reality, it is limited to hearing about astronomical bounties placed on your eyes in the black market. My apologies, I truly bore no ill will,"

Riku explained.

Kurapika naturally sensed that Riku harbored no malicious intent whatsoever.

Or rather.

After obtaining this Red-tier trait, Riku already possessed Kurapika's Scarlet Eyes.

Naturally, there wouldn't be any animosity.

As for the other Gold-tier traits, it wouldn't hurt to farm them later when the ti was right.

"I was too reckless and almost caused a huge misunderstanding. This is not your fault."

Kurapika believed it was his own mistake.

"If you two keep apologizing back and forth like this, we won't get anywhere today! Isn't the exam venue in Zaban City? There is clearly a bus heading to Zaban City right over there. Why are we walking in the exact opposite direction? Could the Captain have made a mistake?"

Leorio interrupted their conversation, pointing at a signpost in the plaza.

Because the location given for the Hunter Exam was Zaban City.

And the cedar tree on top of the mountain that the Captain ntioned was in a completely different direction.

"Riku-nii, which way should we go? I feel like the Captain wouldn't lie to us."

Gon-kun looked toward Riku with eyes seeking guidance.

Although Leorio was older than Riku, judging from last night's performance, he had also implicitly accepted Riku as the leader of their group.

For a mont, the eyes of the other three all focused on Riku.

"The bus to Zaban City is just a scam for rookies. Those buses will never reach the destination. The Captain did not deceive us; it is in the direction of the mountain. Let's go."

Riku smiled.

The Hunter License was indeed very important to him.

With this item, he wouldn't just enjoy the corresponding national benefits, but he could also step into many restricted areas around the world.

If his Trait Plunder System was going to truly grow and evolve to its absolute peak...

He was afraid the ultimate goal in this world would still be invading the Dark Continent!

The Dark Continent harbored all sorts of terrifying existences.

If his strength was sufficient, and he could hunt down those things, the traits he would obtain would be absolutely mind-blowing.

Of course.

That was sothing for the very distant future. At least for right now.

Spending so ti and effort to obtain a Hunter License was the wise choice.

"Alright! Then let's head up the mountain!"

Gon-kun instantly grew excited, grabbing his luggage and fishing rod, and began to run eagerly.

Kurapika's stamina was also quite enduring.

Riku was a freak among freaks.

Leorio, on the other hand, was exhausted to the point of wheezing.

The old saying 'a mountain in sight can still run a horse to death' was truly no exaggeration.

An hour later.

Riku, however.

Hadn't even panted heavily from start to finish. This guy's stamina seed completely bottomless.

Or rather.

This level of exertion couldn't even begin to outpace Riku's stamina recovery rate.

The group had already reached the halfway point up the mountain.

Appearing before their eyes was a desolate, abandoned neighborhood.

There was no one living there; only a few scavenging crows letting out eerie caws.

The atmosphere was quite creepy.

"There's not a single person in this ghost town. It makes really uncomfortable,"

Leorio complained, looking around with a shiver down his spine.

"No, there are many people here."

"Yeah, everyone be careful!"

Gon-kun and Kurapika spoke up.

Riku also cast his gaze into the distance.

"Wait, what? What's going on? Where are the people? Why can't I see them?"

Leorio stared blankly at the empty street, his expression turning slightly horrified.

"The sound of breathing, and the rustling of clothes. They are hiding."

Gon-kun and Kurapika had both heard it.

Riku, naturally, heard it with crystal clarity as well.

A second later.

A long wooden cart with wheels was pushed over. On it were a group of masked weirdos in white robes, playing instrunts and creating a chaotic soundtrack.

An old woman wearing prayer beads sat at a desk in front of them, wearing a solemn expression.

Riku's eyes suddenly lit up.

Because in his field of vision, he clearly saw the trait information of these people.

Na: Examiner - Emi Ikeda

Traits: [Divination] (Blue), [Imposing Aura] (Blue), [Bewitchnt] (Green), [Heart Disease] (Blue)

————

Na: Deputy Examiner 1

Traits: [Hand-to-Hand Combat] (Blue), [Endless Stamina] (Blue)

——————

Na: Deputy Examiner 2

Traits: [Swordsmanship] (Blue), [Sharp Reflexes] (Green)

...…

There are actually Blue-tier traits here!

The dozen or so masked deputies behind her were all the type to hide their true depths. Their strength was naturally far greater than ordinary people.

And many of them were exactly what he needed.

His luck was truly fantastic.

In his past life when watching the ani, he had always wondered: how did a cranky old lady and a few codic background musicians manage to block all those candidates?

This was equivalent to the second phase of the preliminary screening, after all.

The candidates who made it here were not weak.

It seed they were just hiding their true strength!

Since that was the case.

That would save him a lot of trouble.

"Enemy attack!! Careful!"

Riku suddenly shouted in alarm, his body charging directly toward this group of examiners like a hunting panther.

[Ding! You have established a combat stance with the Chief Examiner. Defeating her grants a 10% chance to copy a trait.]
