Lin Wan woke up around two in the morning to find that Han Yi was no longer by her side. She thought he had gone to the bathroom, lying in bed with her eyes closed, waiting for him to return.
But after waiting for a good while and not seeing him return, Lin Wan groggily got out of bed. He was not in the room, and she couldn’t find any sign of him after searching the corridor for so ti.
Not knowing where he had gone, Lin Wan felt worried and lay back in bed, unable to fall asleep.
It wasn’t until dawn was nearing that she saw Han Yi quietly coming in. Lin Wan lay on the bed, squinting, watching him sneak around, not planning to get up and question him.
When he lay down, Lin Wan noticed up close that Han Yi had injuries on his face.
Originally, she didn’t plan to confront him about sneaking out, but now seeing him covered in injuries, she couldn’t hold back any longer. She sat up suddenly, startling Han Yi, making him fall off the bed directly.
She heard him inhale sharply. Seeing his expression, Lin Wan knew he must have more injuries on his body.
"What happened? Did you go out in the middle of the night to fight soone?" Lin Wan turned on the hospital room lights, under which Han Yi’s visible injuries alard her. She quickly got off the bed to help him.
Han Yi didn’t dare let her get up. He quickly stood and pressed her back into bed, "Don’t get worked up, it’s not good for the baby."
"Then tell , what happened to you?" Lin Wan brushed his hand aside, sat up, and asked worriedly.
"Got into a fight with i Langchi. It’s nothing, just so minor injuries, they’ll heal in a couple of days," Han Yi answered truthfully, not hiding anything from Lin Wan.
"A fight? Did he co looking for you?"
"No, I went to his house, found sothing, and got caught by him."
"You went to his place looking for evidence?" Lin Wan asked as she gently cradled Han Yi’s face, examining him with care.
"Yeah, found so stuff," Han Yi pulled her hand down, dismissing it. "It’s nothing, just surface injuries. i Langchi couldn’t beat ; he got quite the beating himself."
"And you, getting caught by him, you wouldn’t just run? Why fight?"
"I’ve wanted to hit him for a long ti. Since he gave the chance, I’d be a fool not to take it."
Lin Wan disagreed with his words. "You hurt him, and you got injured yourself. Since you had evidence, we should just collect it all and hand it over to the police to handle it. Look, you were already injured, and now you have more injuries."
"A man can endure minor injuries; it’s nothing."
"Sit down and take off your clothes. Let see where you’re hurt," Lin Wan insisted, worrying about his injuries.
"Take it all off?"
"Cut the joking, just take them off," Lin Wan said, getting off the bed and taking out the anti-inflammatory dication the doctor had left in the afternoon.
After leaving i Langchi’s siheyuan, Han Yi went ho, changed out of his torn, dust-covered clothes, and only then headed to the hospital. Now, sitting on the bed, he quickly undressed for his wife to check.
His body was relatively okay, with just a few bruises.

Han Yi regarded Xie Lingzhi’s posture and frowned, quickly standing in front of the hospital bed. "Compared to your son, I don’t deserve the word ’animal.’ If it cos to a fight, your son didn’t explain it clearly, it was him who hit first."
"Even if he hit you, you shouldn’t strike back so viciously, you ungrateful white-eyed wolf. We shouldn’t have let you in the i Family in the first place. Watch beat you to death today," said Xie Lingzhi, not caring what Han Yi said. She slapped him hard without giving him a chance to dodge.
Han Yi initially thought she would just pound on him a bit, nothing he would fuss over arguing with an older woman, but unexpectedly she gave him a slap across the face.
This slap left Han Yi montarily stunned.
Xie Lingzhi, in a state of anger now, was acting irrationally. Early that morning, she received a call from the hospital about her son being there, and upon rushing over, seeing her son on the bed wrapped in bandages nearly scared her stiff.
He had been perfectly fine just the afternoon before, and she couldn’t understand what happened overnight to make him like that.
After hearing her son say it was Han Yi’s doing, Xie Lingzhi didn’t ask why, running straight over to confront Han Yi.
"Han Yi." In bed, Lin Wan saw Xie Lingzhi strike Han Yi and got off the bed, pushing Xie Lingzhi away.
But Xie Lingzhi, not caring about Lin Wan’s condition, retaliated by pushing Lin Wan, whose body was weak from blood loss and lacked strength. With that push, Lin Wan staggered back, dizzy. If not for Han Yi holding her, she would have fallen to the ground.
"Xiao Wan?"

"Xiao Zhi"
"What are you doing?" Han Yi, suddenly furious, was just about to grab Xie Lingzhi by the collar when he noticed a familiar figure rushing in through the door.
Getting in, with a loud smack, soone slapped Xie Lingzhi hard, "Which shrew dares to hit my son and daughter-in-law?"
"Mom, Dad," Lin Wan didn’t expect her parents to arrive at that mont, and even her mother-in-law had shown up.
Before her parents could say anything to her, Xie Lingzhi, who had just been slapped, glared angrily at Shen Qing, pointing at her.
"Who are you to call a shrew and dare to hit ? See if I won’t tear you apart," Xie Lingzhi exclaid, not having realized who Shen Qing was.
At her age, it was the first ti soone had slapped her face, and Xie Lingzhi couldn’t stand it. Speaking, she lunged forward with both hands ready to fight Shen Qing.
