At this mont, Han Yi was already at ho, doing laundry by the sink.
"Thanks, hubby," Lin Wan instantly felt moved and hugged him from behind.
"Don’t ss around."
Lin Wan cheekily gave Han Yi a peck on the cheek, then squatted down beside him, and they flirted playfully while washing clothes for an hour.
Lin Wan made a pot of popcorn, dividing it into three portions with a plastic bag: one for Han Yi to take to enjoy with his comrades, one for Sister-in-law Zhang, and the last one for Mom, which she put inside the house. Mom said it was delicious last ti.
But Lin Wan didn’t roast any separately, as it was too much trouble.
Lin Wan had classes in the evening. Han Yi continued to drop her off and pick her up.
On the way back, a strong wind kicked up; Lin Wan had been worried about Mom, but luckily, she had returned early today.
Only then did Lin Wan relax and return to her own yard. She poured all the money she earned from selling clothes this month onto the bed.
The couple counted the money, bill by bill, totaling six thousand eight hundred and two.
Lin Wan was so overjoyed that she rolled on the bed with Han Yi in delight.
Han Yi could only let her be mischievous, feeling happy for her in his heart. This month had finally not been in vain.
"What you’ve earned this month is as much as I made in eight years as a soldier."
"There’s no comparison, this is really high profit. I’m a nouveau riche now," Lin Wan impersonated the local accent with rare humor.
"Yes, indeed, that’s how a nouveau riche cos about."
"Tomorrow, let’s deposit the money."
"Okay."
Lin Wan excitedly hid the money away. She wanted to try the thod Su Ling ntioned today.
Besides being confused, Han Yi also felt a slight sense of anticipation.
Lin Wan had no idea about these things at the mont. If she knew her husband was still so innocent, she would definitely laugh out loud.
But you couldn’t bla Han Yi; though he had been in the army since he was fifteen or sixteen, he wasn’t very knowledgeable in this area. No one had ever talked to him about it privately.
In the blink of an eye, it was Friday. Lin Wan was reluctant for Han Yi to leave; she didn’t even want to attend her evening class that day.
She dragged Han Yi to a nearby park for a stroll. After dinner, most of the local residents ca out to walk and exercise.
At this ti, the square park hadn’t yet been overtaken by the flashy minority dances and "Little Apple" style square dancing; instead, it was filled with a variety of exercise routines, a blossoming of a hundred flowers.
"Next ti we have a vacation, I’ll take you to the Capital City to have a look."
"We can see the Forbidden City and Great Wall in a few years; if you have ti, take to see Shanghai and Shenzhen. I heard they have lots of interesting things there." She wanted to see what it was like over there.
"Sure, I’ll take you when I have ti."
"You better hurry, otherwise, once we have kids, we won’t be able to travel far for a few years."
"Alright, I’ll definitely take you."
"Okay."
When they got ho, they ran into Hu Dong at the doorstep.
"Big brother, sister-in-law, I’ve finally waited for you," he said.
"How long have you been here?"
"Not long, I knocked on the door for quite a while but nobody answered, I thought big brother had already left," Hu Dong scratched his head, taking out a pair of cotton shoes he was holding to Han Yi, "Mom made these for you and asked to bring them over. She said it’s cold in the army during winter, and to keep warm. These cotton shoes are waterproof, so stepping in snow won’t be a problem."
Lin Wan looked up at Han Yi, hesitating to take them for him.
"Hmm, thank Mom for ," Han Yi said with an emotionless face, taking the shoes from Hu Dong, and it was hard to tell whether he was happy or not.
