"It’s nothing, Saozi. My digestion hasn’t been great these days; I can’t stand the sll of at," Lin Wan quickly took the soup Han Yi handed over and drank a sip. She finally felt a little better.
"Can’t stand the sll of at?" Fang Xin seed to think of sothing, and suddenly got excited. "Could it be that you’re pregnant?"
Fang Xin’s words left the young couple stunned.
Seeing their expressions, Fang Xin understood. "Xiao Wan, how long has it been since your last period?"
Though embarrassed to be asked such a question in front of Second Uncle, Lin Wan rembered her period was over a week late. "It’s... it’s been several days."
"It’s still a short ti, but you shouldn’t be careless. What if you are pregnant?" Fang Xin bead with joy.
"Fang Xin, hurry up and eat. Later, take Xiao Wan to the hospital for a check-up," Second Uncle was also happy for his nephew.
Lin Wan’s heart instantly grew anxious. In her last life, she didn’t have children, and in this life, her biggest wish was to have a child with Han Yi. Has the mont finally arrived after waiting so long?
She looked down at her flat belly, feeling a surge of warmth in her heart.
"What would you like to eat? I’ll serve it for you," Han Yi wondered about other n’s imdiate reactions to finding out their wives were pregnant.
But he was terrified; he’d done such things in the past few days, and even took her to the mountains the day before yesterday. Luckily, nothing happened.
This would be his and Xiao Wan’s first child. "Just have so soup, I don’t feel like eating anything else," Lin Wan wanted to be affectionate with Han Yi but hesitated with so many people around.
Han Yi thoughtfully refilled her bowl with soup, watching Lin Wan finish it without blinking, forgetting his own al. Shen Jie, watching Han Yi, couldn’t help but laugh out loud, "Mom, look how nervous cousin is."
Shen Jie’s words made Lin Wan’s face turn red, turning to look at Han Yi, who didn’t find it funny at all but asked Lin Wan if she wanted more.
Lin Wan shook her head, indicating she didn’t want any more.
Fang Xin glared at her daughter, scolding, "Your Saozi is pregnant. Of course your brother would be nervous."
Shen Jie shrunk her neck and stuck her tongue out at them, not daring to make a sound.
"Xiao Yi, stop just staring at Xiao Wan. Eat your food. Later, I’ll tidy up and we’ll take Xiao Wan to the hospital for a check-up."
"Okay," Han Yi finally started eating the food in his bowl.
After dinner, Fang Xin pulled Shen Jie to the kitchen to help clean up the dishes.
The hospital is only a kiloter or two from their ho, just a few steps away, but Han Yi insisted Lin Wan sit in the car instead of walking. Shen Xinghe had urgent matters and couldn’t join them. Fang Xin and Shen Jie went along.
At the hospital, they did a simple urine test.
"Just over a month, still early. Be careful and eat more spinach, tomatoes, carrots, and grains. It’ll be good for the baby’s developnt. Co back for another check-up in two months," the doctor didn’t prescribe any dication for stabilizing the pregnancy, just suggested eating more fruits and vegetables.
Knowing she was indeed pregnant, everyone was thrilled. They treated Lin Wan like a treasure all the way back.
Back ho, Fang Xin quickly called Second Uncle to share the good news.
Han Yi and Lin Wan checked the ti, sat for a while, and then prepared to go ho.
"Saozi, if it weren’t for you today, Han Yi and I wouldn’t have known about the pregnancy. Thank you today."
"Silly child, you young ones don’t understand these things. Rember to eat more of what the doctor recomnded once you’re ho. The first three months are crucial, so be extra careful."
"Yes, we understand."
The weather outside was cold, and Fang Xin was worried about them catching a cold while riding, so she called Shen Xinghe to send a car from the office to take Han Yi and Lin Wan back.
