After seeing her parents off, Lin Wan and Han Yi asked around so of the other patients’ family mbers. Many were using caregivers, and knew quite a few people who could help introduce so to them.
After asking for a while, Lin Wan and Han Yi found a woman in her forties. She had been a caregiver for several years, was experienced, attentive, and most importantly, didn’t mind getting dirty or tired.
These caregivers were hired by the day. For 24-hour one-on-one care, it was 4 yuan a day. If it was just dayti, it was 1.50 yuan; night ti was 2 yuan. Generally, they preferred taking on multiple tasks. Either dayti or nightti.
In a day, they could take care of two patients since patients didn’t need constant attention. They could simultaneously care for two to three patients. For three patients at night, they could earn 6 yuan busying the entire night. They could rest a whole day, which was more cost-effective than 24-hour care.
The one they found was already attending to an elderly man at night. This man had so difficulty walking and needed assistance. He was sowhat easier to care for than Grandma. This way, she could have more energy to care for Grandma.
They wanted to find a one-on-one caregiver, but it was indeed difficult. Many caregivers already had multiple clients.
At this ti, the services were not as good and organized as they would be later.
After finding a caregiver, Lin Wan and Han Yi took her to identify the room number, which was right next to the elderly man’s, making it convenient.
Before reaching the door, they saw their cousin and his wife coming out, noticing they had brought a caregiver along.
"Grandma just fell asleep," the cousin’s wife said, and took the caregiver inside for a look, quietly instructing her and then coming back out.
The caregiver chuckled, "No worries, I’ll check in later. If you have things to do, you can go ho. When she wakes up, I’ll talk to her."
"Alright, thank you, Auntie."
"No trouble at all, it’s my duty."
Lin Wan and the others exchanged polite words, then entered the ward.
The cousin’s wife pulled them aside, "Let Grandma sleep for a bit. You all haven’t eaten, right? Let’s go to the cafeteria and grab a al together."
"Where’s Aunt and Mom?" Lin Wan asked, puzzled.
The cousin’s wife pointed to the end of the corridor. Lin Wan then noticed that both her uncles were there. The three siblings were gathered together, discussing sothing unknown.
"They’re talking things over. Sigh, we have money, and it’s not like Grandma’s dical expenses are much, but they insist on not using our money. Grandma has always helped so much; I would still be at ho taking care of the kids if it weren’t for her help. It’s not a loss if we pay," the cousin’s wife thought sensibly.
Lin Wan smiled, "It’s their own mother who’s sick, and since they’re capable, they naturally don’t need to rely on us."
"Then what are they discussing?" the cousin’s wife asked, confused.
The cousin knew what was going on and explained to his wife, "It’s always been like this among siblings. When the elders get sick, it’s discussed and handled together."
Han Yi and Lin Wan smiled discreetly to themselves, thinking they would be the sa when it was their turn.
"Xiao Yi, if you have things to do, take Xiao Wan and head back. We’ve got things covered here," the cousin said while they were eating.
"We’ll indeed need to trouble you with Grandma’s situation, cousin. I have to leave the day after tomorrow," Han Yi said while helping Lin Wan with so food and addressed it to Bai Xu.
