Ye Qing thought about it all night. It wasn’t until dawn that she finally fell asleep. She overslept.
Early the next day, i Shuqing went directly to the old house to find i Shuping. They discussed it at the dinner table last night.
i Shuping also found Qu Liushou a bit suspicious. After discussing it, the brothers contacted the police to prepare for the capture of Qu Liushou.
anwhile, Qu Liushou, after going out last night, returned to his ho. Early in the morning, he went straight to Aunt Wu’s house. Aunt Wu’s husband and daughter had already gone to work, leaving only her son and daughter-in-law at ho.
Qu Liushou seized the opportunity, and when no one was around, he climbed over the side wall of Aunt Wu’s house. Luckily, Aunt Wu’s son’s room was quiet. Qu Liushou clutched the stick in his hand as he tiptoed into Aunt Wu’s room. Fortunately, Aunt Wu’s room at ho was not locked. Qu Liushou searched for a long ti but did not see any sign of those paintings. He suddenly felt he was looking in the wrong direction. Perhaps those paintings weren’t taken by Aunt Wu.
Unwilling to give up, Qu Liushou searched Aunt Wu’s room for a long ti, then sneaked into her daughter’s room. After searching ticulously again, he found nothing. There was no trace of paintings, not even small change. There were no valuable items either. It was a wasted trip. In frustration, he made so noise while searching, which startled Aunt Wu’s son in the adjacent room.
Aunt Wu’s son imdiately sensed sothing was wrong. Unable to make big movents due to his condition, he quietly led his wife and son out of the house, gently locked the door behind him, and quickly called his colleague.
The truth is, her son is a police officer, not the useless loafer Qu Liushou imagined.
He had recently sustained a work injury and was recovering at ho. His wife usually stayed ho to care for their child and did so handicraft work to supplent their inco.
Since her husband’s injury, she’d focused solely on taking care of him and their child, not expecting sothing like this—a thief daring to rob their house in broad daylight.
Qu Liushou was just unlucky, stumbling onto a gun barrel today.
After Aunt Wu’s son went out, he hurriedly made a call.
anwhile, i Shuping and his team had arrived at Qu Liushou’s ho. Discovering that nobody was ho and everything had been packed, it was evident he intended to go sowhere far.
The police found a box in his package, proving that the stolen items from the i Family were indeed his doing.
Since the items hadn’t been taken away, Qu Liushou couldn’t have left yet. Thus, i Shuping instructed the police to keep watch and capture him imdiately upon his return.
Curiously, as soon as i Shuping reached the departnt, he received a call saying Qu Liushou had been caught red-handed during a burglary in a house in the southern part of the city. Upon interrogation, they discovered the target house was Aunt Wu’s.
Through police questioning, it beca clear that after Qu Liushou stole the items from the i Family, he was robbed the sa night at his own ho. The goodies he acquired were stolen imdiately.
Qu Liushou believed Aunt Wu was behind it. He thought that after hitting Aunt Wu with a stick, she feigned unconsciousness and followed him after watching him steal the items, seizing the opportunity to steal them from him.
For days, he lingered near Aunt Wu’s house, hoping to reclaim the items. Little did he expect Aunt Wu’s son to be a policeman. Now it was too late for regrets. Had he listened to Ye Qing yesterday and taken that 1,000 yuan, he could’ve been enjoying freedom sowhere remote.
Now that he’s caught, there’s no chance of getting out.
Now, Qu Liushou is full of regret. But it’s to no avail. His family is not helping him, simply because they don’t want to. Now I’m just a loner.
Caught by the police, jail ti is certain. When the police asked who instigated him, Qu Liushou did not ntion Ye Qing, remaining true to Ye Qing for that 1,000 yuan.
Anyway, the items are lost. Ye Qing told her family she didn’t even know what had been lost. This significantly favored Qu Liushou. He only stated that he stole out two boxes that night because one was stolen, and the other remained with him.
