"Alright, alright, you guys go ahead and get busy. I’d rather enjoy so peace and quiet," Fang Jingzi said as she kicked off her shoes and lay down on the bed, "But just rember, don’t point out my faults and call lazy later."

"I can’t guarantee that," Fang Jingyi teased before leaving.

Staring at the doorway for a while, Fang Jingzi got up and stood by the window, gazing at the familiar scenes downstairs, and inexplicably, a sense of reluctance filled her heart.

Even though she knew that after getting married, she could still co ho as usual, she couldn’t help but feel a bit sad. People often say that outgoing children aren’t sentintal and don’t miss ho, but she was quite the opposite; her least favorite thing since childhood was leaving ho and her parents.

Before she t Lin Wenjie, she had been in relationships, and they all ended because of one requirent she had — after marriage, both sets of parents must be supported.

She didn’t think this request was unreasonable, but no one accepted it, except Lin Wenjie.

When they t, he was a student, and she was a teacher. She liked this delicate and studious young boy, of course, as a teacher’s fondness for a student.

But one day, he approached her and told her he liked her.

She burst into laughter.

At that ti, she was twenty-two years old, and he was sixteen. In her eyes, he was just a child, and she naturally took his words as a child’s impulsive confession. She didn’t scold him, just smiled, shook her head, and walked away.

"I will take good care of you, trust !" he shouted loudly from behind.

She certainly considered what he said as child’s crazy talk.

The next day, he bought her breakfast and lunch again, and when she refused to eat, he threatened to throw it away, so she had no choice but to give in due to her frugality.

She thought his persistence wouldn’t last more than a month, but a year later, he was still there.

Besides buying her als, he would wait for her on her way ho from school to escort her, and seeing that he was serious, she earnestly talked to him, saying she was too rational while he was a student, that it wasn’t suitable, and asked him to stop doing foolish things.

He didn’t say anything, continuing to do as he pleased.

Not sure when it started, she got used to his presence around her, and once when he didn’t attend school due to illness, she felt restless all day.

From that day on, she beca aware of her feelings and decided to bravely face this relationship.

Her family was the first to oppose.

Because the gap between the two families was vast, and the disparity between the two of them was significant.

She was the type who wouldn’t change once she set her mind on sothing, so, even though she was so attached to ho and loved her parents, she didn’t conform to her parents’ wishes and break up with him.

When she agreed to be with him, his joy bead through his eyes imdiately. He didn’t shout out in celebration as she imagined, but instead, he held her hand and earnestly assured her that no matter what happened, his care for her would never change.

She agreed, but in her heart, she didn’t believe it.

Yet reality proved her wrong again.

These past two years, he was consistent in his treatnt of her.

She thought his family would be the biggest obstacle, but unexpectedly, there wasn’t a bit of resistance from them; they said they trusted his judgnt.

Because of these words, she beca even more determined to be with him, no matter what others gossiped about, because his elders and her elders shared so commonalities in certain aspects.

This was fate!

She had always been waiting for this day, yet when the day arrived, her heart was inexplicably uneasy and unsettled, and even she didn’t know what she was anxious about.

"Creak!"

The door was pushed open, Fang Jingzi turned around; it was her aunt, Fang Sanqing.

"Aunt..." she greeted politely, as Fang Jingzi ca over.

"Xiao Zi..." Fang Sanqing smiled and sat by the bed, "Xinlan ca over, from the way she’s talking, it seems like she wants to go with Jingwen tomorrow. I’m here to let you know so you’re aware."

Jingwen is Fang Jingzi’s younger brother.

Fang Jingzi frowned, her brother was good in every aspect, except for his lack of discernnt when it cos to people. Li Xinlan was a neighbor’s daughter, who previously didn’t even spare a glance at her brother, but ever since she learned that she was dating soone from the Lin Family of the Capital, she’s been extrely enthusiastic about him.

Her parents, she, and her younger sister had all advised her brother to stop associating with Li Xinlan, but he simply wouldn’t listen, stubbornly wanting to marry her.

So, up until now, the relationship between Li Xinlan and her brother Fang Jingwen wasn’t clear-cut. You could call them lovers, yet the family elders often t without ever discussing the future of the younger couple.

On the other hand, saying they weren’t lovers wasn’t accurate either, as she would frequently drag Fang Jingwen to watch movies and go shopping.

See, now she’s sent herself over again. To put it bluntly, to Li Xinlan, Fang Jingwen was just a stepping stone, and Fang Jingzi herself was Li Xinlan’s target of approach and manipulation.

Did she really take her for a fool?!

Thinking it over, Fang Jingzi looked toward Fang Sanqing: "Aunt, if Jingwen wants to take her, I’ll directly have Jingwen stay ho. I’m not stopping her from marrying well if she wants, but if she plans to use my brother, I absolutely won’t agree!"

"Alright." Fang Sanqing nodded reassuringly, "I’m relieved hearing you say so. I was just worried you’d soften because of tomorrow’s special day and fall for her trap. That woman is just like her mother; a lady’s body with a maid’s fate!"

Fang Sanqing and Li Xinlan’s mother Yao Aifeng had been classmates, and Fang Sanqing had been wronged by her, so she harbored a deep dislike for Yao Aifeng, and consequentially, didn’t care for Li Xinlan either. That’s the fundantal reason why, despite others not bringing the news, she personally ca to inform her. (To be continued.
