Over a month into the sester, everyone had basically adapted to university life. Once the novelty wore off, so of the more outgoing students started forming various social clubs.
In this era, with not much entertainnt around, almost every club that started up quickly filled up with eager mbers, with no distinction between popular and unpopular ones.
Chuxia wasn’t interested in this at all, so when Lin ngran, Yang Xiaoli, and a couple of others were chattering about club-related news around her, she just quietly listened without giving any opinions.
However, the others mistook her silence for loneliness, and each ti they reached a lively part of the conversation, noticing her expression, they would hastily stop and seemingly unintentionally change the subject.
Chuxia couldn’t explain her real lack of interest to them, so she pretended not to notice their peculiar behavior. But as this happened more frequently, she felt it wasn’t a good way to continue.
It was clear that Lin ngran, Yang Xiaoli, and Li Xinli were quite interested in this, but out of consideration for her, they felt uncomfortable joining any club. Chuxia couldn’t let her own disinterest stop them from experiencing and participating, so when the Poetry Club was established, and classmates rushed to sign up, Chuxia also pushed Lin ngran and the others to sign up.
"No, I’m not going..." Lin ngran shook her head to refuse, "I’m not really interested, sotis I just ntion it as a new topic to tell you about."
Yang Xiaoli quickly added, "Exactly, what’s the point? Many people are writing poems that make no sense, yet act so proud. I can’t stand being around those people."
Li Xinli quickly chid in, "I don’t like it either, I’ve never enjoyed being in crowds, it’s uncomfortable."
Wu Jingbo, who always seed indifferent to this, maintained a calm deanor, "I’m even less interested, we’re dical students, not literature students, why make things hard for ourselves?"
Chuxia could clearly see that Wu Jingbo was genuinely uninterested, but the other three were trying to convince her by convincing themselves. She was moved by their solidarity, but this ti she really needed to make things clear.
Fortunately, there were less than ten people left in the classroom, sparsely scattered and sitting far apart. Chuxia lowered her voice, "Have you been thinking that I’m not interested because I’m pregnant and can’t participate?"
Lin ngran quickly shook her head, "No, no, we know you’re truly not interested, and we genuinely aren’t interested either."
"Big sis..." Chuxia looked at her helplessly, "I’m not just trying to comfort you, I really don’t like it. Even if I weren’t pregnant, I wouldn’t join.
If you truly don’t like it, then fine, but if you do like it and are just not participating because of , I’d feel very guilty. Friendships should be comfortable, if you keep this up, can we really continue to get along happily?"
Seeing a bit of hesitation on their faces, Chuxia continued, "Honesty is precious among friends. I’ve spoken this bluntly, if you still doubt the truthfulness of my words, I’ll be really upset."
"Well..." Hesitating for a mont, Lin ngran looked at the others, "Are you guys interested?"
Yang Xiaoli nodded, "I want to give it a try."
Li Xinli wore a conflicted expression, "I... I’m fine either way."
"I’m not interested," Wu Jingbo said.
It was obvious from her expression that she was genuinely uninterested, and she had always behaved this way. Chuxia suggested, "ngran, Xiaoli, Xinli, you guys go sign up, let Jingbo accompany ho." She could go ho by herself, but if she did, her friends would definitely not go sign up.
Wu Jingbo reached out to push them, "Don’t worry, with accompanying the youngest, what’s there to worry about?"
Having said so much, her friends stopped hesitating. Mainly, they were genuinely intrigued by these new things. Whether they’d continue to be interested later didn’t matter, for now, they wanted to try.
Besides, listening to classmates boasting about their nonsensical poetry, they really wanted to join in and show them who really has the right to laugh!
When the others left, Wu Jingbo looked at Chuxia, "Youngest, why do I feel like ever since we ca to the Capital City, you and I have grown distant? Aren’t you used to be closer to than to Xiaoli and ngran? Did I do sothing that bothered you?"
"No, no..." Chuxia waved her hands repeatedly, looking at her with exasperation, "What are you thinking about? It’s just because you seem so quiet, so I mostly drag them along. If you like, I’ll drag you along next ti."
