First Night.

Because of Elder Wan and Sister-in-law Yin’s age, the tradition of teasing the newlyweds was just a formality. The younger generation didn’t have the heart to really ss with them. They simply went through the motions. It wasn’t even 9:30, and everyone went back to their own hos.
After Wan Yuqiong’s mother and her two daughters saw everyone off, they each retreated to their rooms. In an instant, the new room was left with just the couple. Although they had lived together for so many years, the sudden change in their relationship still made them a bit unaccustod.
Sister-in-law Yin sat at the bedside, nervously twisting the corner of her clothes. Old Master Wan wanted to say sothing to break the awkwardness, but couldn’t find a suitable topic at that mont, so he just sat there stiffly.
In the past, at this ti, Sister-in-law Yin would remind Old Master Wan that it was ti to rest. But given today’s special situation, she was absolutely embarrassed to remind him. Yet, if she didn’t remind him, she was a bit worried about his health, so she kept glancing at the wall clock now and then.

"Hmm." Sister-in-law Yin replied, her face turning red to the root of her neck. She felt her behavior was sowhat exaggerated but couldn’t control herself. Maybe this was the difference between liking and not liking soone...
After washing up, Sister-in-law Yin finally cald down, and she found a new pair of pajamas in the cabinet to hand to Old Master Wan. "Go take a bath first; I’ve already run the water for you."
The old man nodded, hesitated for a mont, and then took the pajamas and went to the bathroom. Sister-in-law Yin let out a long sigh. Being at such an age and still acting this way was really embarrassing, but... but to her, this was a real marriage. Sitting there, her heart was pounding like a drum...
Of course, there was another reason for her behavior that she was too embarrassed to admit. Although she wasn’t young, she didn’t know much about n in certain aspects. Right now, she felt that if they shared a bed, she was afraid it would make Old Master Wan uncomfortable. If they didn’t share a bed, it seed a bit pretentious...
In the bathroom, Old Master Wan’s heart was not at peace either. His late wife had been gone for over a decade, and he had never thought he would remarry. He originally didn’t want to marry a woman just for care without emotional connection. As he got older, he lost even that thought.
Marrying Sister-in-law Yin was less about emotions and more about her future. For him, at this age, getting married or not didn’t matter.
However, if he didn’t marry Sister-in-law Yin, keeping her around to care for him would inevitably stir gossip. If sothing happened to him, Sister-in-law Yin might not even have a place to stay.
Of course, he believed the organization would arrange sothing for Sister-in-law Yin. But having her follow him for so many years only for the organization to step in at the end felt wrong to him.
In truth, whoever arranged her future, the life wouldn’t be much different in reality. But emotionally, he believed Sister-in-law Yin wished it were him taking responsibility.
So, he decided to remarry.
Only when he truly reached this mont, did he realize he hadn’t overco the barrier in his heart. To him, his late wife was irreplaceable...
When he ca out of the bathroom, Sister-in-law Yin had already turned to her side to sleep. Old Master Wan quietly breathed a sigh of relief, turned off the light, and lay on the other side of the bed.
"Wan Lang..." softly calling Old Master Wan’s na, Sister-in-law Yin turned her body to face him. During this ti, she thought about many things. After Old Master Wan lay down, she could feel his body stiffness. If they rested like this all night, the next morning would definitely start awkwardly, so she decided to be frank about it.
"Hmm?" Old Master Wan responded softly and sat up halfway against the headboard.
Sister-in-law Yin also sat up and turned on the bedside lamp to look at the man who was now her husband. When she truly wanted to speak, she didn’t know how to express herself, and they both stiffened again.
After a mont, Old Master Wan reached out and patted Sister-in-law Yin. "iyuan, don’t overthink it; I just need so ti. It’s not about you; it’s about Yuqiong’s mother..."
"I understand..." Sister-in-law Yin sighed deeply, "Honestly speaking, my first marriage wasn’t happy, so I don’t have much nostalgia for the past.
And all these years, I’ve refused to remarry because I didn’t want to fall into that state again. Instead of two people dragging each other down, it’s easier being free and single."
