"What’s wrong with that?" Chuxia looked at Zeng ili as if it were obvious, "A lot of people still work in the fields until they’re about to give birth, so what’s this?"

"But there are also many people who have complications because they were working when they went into labor..." Zeng ili looked at Chuxia seriously, "Third sister-in-law, you’re carrying twins, so you must be extrely careful, both for the children and yourself."

"I know." Chuxia nodded with a smile, "Don’t worry, I’ve got it under control. I’m Elder Qi’s disciple, and he’s teaching at the school, checking on every week. He’s the one who said I could keep attending classes.

Also, the teacher said that moving around more was good for natural childbirth, otherwise, I’d be looking at a cesarean. If a normal delivery is possible, it’s still better, so I need to keep active."

"There’s such a saying?" Zeng ili widened her eyes, "I used to hear that over-exertion before delivery caused complications requiring a cesarean, but never heard that relaxing too much could lead to one."

"You really are out of touch, aren’t you?" As soon as the words left her mouth, Chuxia realized why the other said it. In this era, only busy people were found everywhere; idle ones were rare.

Whether workers, farrs, or public servants, all were busy until right before delivery before truly resting, so it’s no wonder she’d never hear that relaxing led to a cesarean.

Of course, the main issue is Zeng ili wasn’t concerned with these matters before, and few delivered at military hospitals, so thinking this way wasn’t surprising.

As the two were chatting, Zhao Yulan ca out of the kitchen carrying a plate, smiling and greeting both, "Co over and eat, I made dumplings with four different fillings, they’re delicious."

"I’m in for a treat from now on." Zeng ili laughed, pulling Chuxia to her feet, "My mom always found making dumplings botherso. My dad and I would have to beg her when we couldn’t resist the craving."

"Judging by Aunt’s manner, you’d think she’d be skilled in housework." Chuxia looked at Zeng ili in disbelief, "Are you sure you didn’t exaggerate?"

"Does your mother-in-law love making dumplings?"

"She doesn’t seem to love making them; usually, she enjoys rolling the dough."

"They are biological sisters, surprisingly similar in this regard..." Zeng ili shrugged, "Mainly because rolling dough is tiring, no one likes it much, so the task falls to moms and mothers-in-law who aren’t pampered.

That’s indirectly led them to particularly dislike dumpling-making, even though they no longer need to roll so much dough, they still don’t like it."

"I never knew there was such a saying..." Chuxia sighed, "Speaking of them, Aunt and Mom have really had it tough. Fortunately, they’ve married well; otherwise, they’d be so wronged."

"Indeed, the most pampered younger aunt married the worst..." Zeng ili paused, "Actually, can’t say she married poorly; to be precise, she’s the one with the worst temper, causing her husband to lose patience with her. Being pampered at ho is short-lived, not being pampered is lifelong good fortune. So Mom and your mother-in-law are lucky."

"I’m quite pampered at ho..." Chuxia pointed at herself, feigning worry while looking at Zeng ili, "Does that an I’ll be unhappy in the future?"

"Get out of here..." Zeng ili pushed her in annoyance, "You’re showing off in front of now? How many are treated like treasures at ho, and at their husband’s as well? Keep flaunting that and it’s not very nice."

"Hehe..." Chuxia grinned widely, "You said pampered ones are destined for short-term happiness, actually, I should have asked you, aren’t you treasured at ho?"

"Yes, treasured indeed, I was wrong, okay?" Zeng ili looked at her, speechless, "I was just talking about Mom and your mother-in-law’s situation, why drag you and into it?

The tis are different now, naturally the outcos are too. If you keep criticizing my little slip-ups, I might suspect you don’t want here."

Chuxia raised her eyebrows: "Alright, then go wherever you want, I won’t stop you."

"Chuxia, mind your words?" Zhao Yulan glared at her daughter, then turned to Zeng ili, "Don’t take her seriously, she tends to talk nonsense when it cos over her."

"Mom, that’s so unfair of you..." Chuxia smilingly held her mom’s arm, "I was joking around with Sister ili, and now you’re acting like that’s what I really thought."

"You little rascal, are you suggesting I’m just causing trouble here?" Zhao Yulan gave her daughter a glare and turned to walk towards the kitchen, "Fine, I won’t cause trouble for you anymore. I’ll leave, is that okay?"

"Auntie, let help." Zeng ili quickly got up to follow her.

There were pork and three fresh flavors, fennel with at, egg and chives with shrimp, and at with cabbage dumplings. Chuxia loved the fennel and at ones the most, so Zhao Yulan served her a heaping plateful.

Watching Chuxia finish the entire plate of dumplings in no ti, Zeng ili’s mouth almost dropped open in shock.

"Why are you making that face?" Chuxia glared at her, "I’m eating for three now, did you think I was like you?" As she spoke, she grabbed another half plate of egg, chive, and shrimp dumplings.

"It’s not surprising that you’re eating a lot, it’s just surprising that you like this kind of filling..." Coming back to her senses, Zeng ili quickly added, "When I ca over, my mom reminded that pregnant won usually don’t like strong vegetables like fennel and cilantro, but as soon as I arrived, you overturned her words."

"Everyone has different tastes. Actually, before I got pregnant, I didn’t really like this kind of filling, but ever since I beca pregnant, I find this flavor particularly delicious. So every ti we make dumplings, my mom makes the fennel ones for ..."

After lunch, they sat for a while, then Chuxia went back to her room to rest before going to class in the afternoon, with Zeng ili tagging along, claiming she wanted to get used to student life in advance.

Two days later, the full-ti class Zeng ili enrolled in started, so she no longer sat in on Chuxia’s classes, finally giving Chuxia the ti to call Jing Zhe, who surprisingly didn’t ignore her call this ti.

"Big brother, I thought you were still avoiding ..." Chuxia teased with a playful tone.

"I wasn’t avoiding you, I just didn’t know how to talk to you." Jing Zhe’s voice was filled with helplessness, "I suppose ili has already told you about my situation? Actually, to prevent you guys from worrying, I’ve been trying to adjust myself, but..." he sighed, "I’m anxious myself, but there’s nothing I can do, I’ve been undergoing psychological therapy recently."

"哥 you’re scaring ..." Chuxia straightened up, her smile fading, "What did the doctor say?"

"A knot in my heart." Jing Zhe paused before continuing, "I always told you I’d never been in a relationship, and everyone went along with that, but..." After a long pause, he finally said, "But the truth is, I had a girlfriend I’d been involved with for many years. I was out on a mission with her when she drowned, and I survived because she used all her strength to lift out of the water.

Of course, I stumbled upon this truth by chance. This is why I’ve been avoiding Zeng ili, and the root cause of my fear of marriage. I don’t dare to tell ili the truth, nor do I dare to tell others that I’ve already learned about this matter.

Everyone thinks I still haven’t recovered from my amnesia, and they assu my fear of marriage is due to influence from my colleagues at the hospital. To avoid worrying them, I’ve let them believe it.

However, I can’t accept my own happiness with ease. Every ti I close my eyes, I see the image of a young woman floating in the water. I’m undergoing treatnt because of this.

Sumr, I’m only telling you this, so for now, please don’t tell anyone else, and don’t worry about . I promise I’ll recover as fast as I can.

No matter how that past relationship was, I believe that she wouldn’t want to live alone and desolate in this world.

Now I can understand, but I can’t accept it. Given ti, I’m sure I’ll get over it, and I’ll tell ili the truth and take her to pay respects to the woman who saved ."

"哥..." After a long silence, Chuxia said, "Although I’ve only known you for over a year, I have a fairly good grasp of your character.

If you and that girl truly loved each other deeply, I don’t think you’d completely forget everything after the accident. What you’re hearing now cos from others; in fact, might there be so hidden truth?

哥, don’t mind thinking negatively, it’s just because I know your character too well, I can’t help but think this way. Of course, I still hope it’s as you’ve heard, at the very least, it would be a touching love story."

"Sumr, I’ve thought about it too, and tried recalling, but I don’t have any impression at all. I even asked my mom indirectly, and she quickly changed the subject looking rather panicked. I didn’t ask again after that.

Perhaps back then, my mom thought I’d regained my mory and tried to fish for information from ; I was vague about it all. It’s not that I don’t trust her, but because of my doubts, I didn’t want to tell anyone.

I also don’t want to play tricks anymore. The reason I know is because I accidentally found my old diary. It recorded a lot about and that girl.

And the part after falling into the water was continued by my sister. At that ti, the family was afraid I wouldn’t wake up, and they worried and prayed for every day. My sister happened to find my diary and wrote everyone’s worries and prayers in it..." (To be continued.
