Recalling her purpose, Chuxia no longer kept her waiting and smiled as she nodded, “Yes, he is my significant other, and we are married.”
“That’s wonderful, truly wonderful,” Qin i repeated, before guiding the conversation back to what interested her, “I heard your husband calling Director Zhou ‘Third Uncle.’ Is he his actual uncle or is it just a form of address?”
“Why do you ask that?” Chuxia frowned suspiciously, “We’re just here to shop, do you need to know everything that clearly?”
“Comrade, you’ve misunderstood. I’m not asking this to target Director Zhou. It’s just that…” Blushing, Qin i leaned in close to Chuxia and whispered, “If he’s a real uncle, that would an that we’d beco relatives in the future.”
“Oh.” Chuxia nodded and pointed to the receipt on the counter, “You sort out the bill first, I’ll give you the food coupons and money lest we forget later.”
“No need, I’ll settle this account,” Qin i slipped the receipt into the drawer, “I was rude earlier, and as an apology, this is my little gesture.”
By this point, Chuxia had clearly seen through Qin i’s intentions toward Zhou Shanping, naturally avoiding further entanglent. As a younger mber of the family and being a daughter-in-law, she wasn’t in a position to ddle. She placed ninety kilograms’ worth of food coupons and twenty-six yuan on the counter: “This is the exact amount, please count it and give a receipt.”

Approaching noon, the store was void of custors, and a few salesclerks craned their necks outside then started gossiping:

Zhou Mikang and Zhou Shanping were both tall. She spotted them imdiately, hurried over with a quick smile plastered across her face.
