After Zhao Qiyan and Liu Zhenqiang left, Li Aiyuan gave Zhao Qihui a aningful glance, and the mother and daughter headed to the southern room. However, no sooner had they put down the chopping board than Zhao Yulan, Fat Auntie, Chuxia, and Luo Xiaoqiong ca over.
"Please go sit in the room. We’ll call you when the dough is ready and the fillings are prepared," Li Aiyuan said, pushing them towards the door, "It’s cold in here; you all should go back to the main room."
"Sister-in-law, are you treating us like guests? Sneaking off to the southern room to get busy..." Zhao Yulan breathed on her hands and picked up the chopping board to leave, "Let’s go to the main hall; it’s warr there. Cha Xiang and Gangshun are not outsiders, and Xiao Jing is an easy-going child. If you two freeze your hands and feet off and get frostbite, winter will be unbearable."
This room didn’t get any sunshine and was always cold because a fire was never lit. It really wasn’t fit for human habitation in the winter. The mother and daughter didn’t want to disturb everyone’s conversation, so they purposefully ca here to get busy. But even in the short ti they’d been here, the cold was getting to them. Best not to play the martyr and end up freezing one’s self sick.
Since marrying into Zhao’s house, Li Aiyuan had the best relationship with Zhao Yulan; they were like sisters. They were usually not formal with each other, but today, with the future in-laws of the whole Zhou family around, she felt too embarrassed to be too casual. After moving things to the main hall, Li Aiyuan shooed everyone into the room to warm up.
Zhao Yulan chuckled, "Big sister, Cha Xiang isn’t an outsider. It’s much livelier when everybody works together. Besides, if it were just you two, wouldn’t you starve us to death?"
"Right, big sister, you’re treating like a stranger. If I were the type of person who puts on airs, would I have co today?" Fat Auntie took the initiative to grab the basin, "Let knead the dough; that’s my specialty."
"This..." Li Aiyuan was at a loss for what to do with her hands stopped in midair when Chuxia playfully bowed, "Please assign tasks, Eldest Maternal Aunt!"

Lost in her thoughts, the door flew open, and the n filed out, setting off towards the wheat field in a grand procession. It seed only Lin Baohe was missing...
After a mont, Chuxia understood; obviously, they were giving Elder Zhao and Old Lady Zhao so ti to sort out Zhao Qiyan’s matter before she left.
Just as the thought crossed her mind, Old Lady Zhao’s voice ca through, "Yulan and Chuxia, co in for a while."
The family of three sat side by side on the edge of the Kang bed, Chuxia leaning against Zhao Yulan’s shoulder, her big eyes brimming with a smile as she looked at Elder Zhao and Old Lady Zhao: "Grandma and Grandpa, I know what you want to ask. I’ll speak first. I won’t interfere with Zhao Qiyan’s matter. Whatever decision you make, I have no objections."
