“Yes!”
Wang Jing let out a loud “ow” and jumped up, then leaned back to the table and started sobbing quietly, her shoulders trembling. This reaction was so strange that it frightened Lin Chuxia and Song Xiaoyu.
“Senior…” Lin Chuxia patted her shoulder, unsure how to console her.
“Nothing… nothing’s wrong…” Wang Jing raised her head, tears welling up in her eyes, “I’m just so happy, really really happy. I always thought it would be a lifelong regret for my aunt not to beco a mother, but now, I’m finally relieved, boo hoo…”
Song Xiaoyu sighed softly, helplessly looking at her: “If you’re happy, then just be happy. Look at you crying like you’ve been beaten by soone. If anyone cos in, wouldn’t they mistake it as sothing initiated by Lin Chuxia and ?”
“Now I understand what it ans to cry tears of joy…” Wang Jing wiped her eyes dry, feeling embarrassed, “I just think that only by crying can I feel truly relaxed inside.”
“Then you cry, I’ll go take over the shift.” Lin Chuxia said while picking up a notebook, glancing at Song Xiaoyu, “Teacher, I’ll head to the Second Ward office.”
“Better let go…” Song Xiaoyu stood up, “Huang Baoquan was on duty last night, and he surely won’t be pleasant with you.”
“It’s fine, I can’t avoid him every ti. If he looks unpleasant, I’ll just pretend not to see it. After all, what I need is the shift record, not his face.”
As Lin Chuxia spoke, she had already stepped out. Song Xiaoyu shook her head helplessly: “This guy…, sigh!”
Wang Jing hurriedly wiped her tears clean: “Teacher, how about I go over and take a look.”
“No need, what Lin Chuxia said is right. You can’t avoid every ti. Seeing Ye iru’s state, she’ll often be stationed at Shajiabin. They have to face each other; being proactive is always better than passive.”
As expected by Song Xiaoyu, the first hurdle Lin Chuxia faced at the Second Ward was Ye iru. She stood at the office door, blocking it tightly, yet smiling and inviting Lin Chuxia to enter.
Lin Chuxia looked at her indifferently: “If you really want a child, you have to think about it for him. Arguing with and staying here every day, even taking night shifts, what’s the point?”
“No need for your concern. I just want to go to work. Lin Chuxia, don’t you just hope I leave soon? I’m telling you, it’s not gonna happen.” Ye iru said, stretching her arm forward, “I’m not blocking you on purpose, my leg got a cramp. Could you help massage my calf? Once I’m okay, I’ll give you space.”
“No problem, you just stand there.” Lin Chuxia folded her arms, stepped back a bit, “I don’t believe the cramp will last a whole day. Fine, if you have the guts, keep standing there and don’t leave.” Just as a young nurse passed by her side, Lin Chuxia stopped her, “Could you please notify Director Song at the First Ward that my shift handover might take a bit longer, so she doesn’t worry.”
“Yes, Doctor Lin.”
Lin Chuxia is now the rising star at the hospital, and the young nurse briskly responded and ran off to the First Ward office.
Inside, Huang Baoquan sat, his eyebrows twitching with anger. At this mont, he definitely couldn’t go out, but staying there… he was about to lose it…
Sitting opposite him, Li Qing noticed sothing was off about his complexion, and asked in confusion, “Teacher, are you uncomfortable sowhere? Do you need to help you rest for a bit?”
“No problem.” Holding his breath, he gestured to Li Qing, persisting in his endurance. At this point, he didn’t know whether he should be angry with Lin Chuxia or Ye iru.
The night had been uneventful, and he had slept on the office’s simple bed during the latter part of the night. Ye iru insisted on squeezing in together, and caught up in the novelty, he agreed.
As a result, his arm was used as a pillow by Ye iru, and several tis when he wanted to go to the bathroom, he was entwined as she turned over.
She being pregnant, he dared not push her too hard, having to endure it.
He was finally awakened by Li Qing’s knocking, realizing it was nearly shift handover ti, and as he and Ye iru got up and tidied themselves, Li Qing had already entered.
And then, Lin Chuxia arrived.
Ye iru clearly knew he was at his limit but still blocked the doorway. Wasn’t this trying to kill him?!
“Teacher, teacher, what’s wrong?” Noticing that Huang Baoquan’s face had turned pale, and he was sweating profusely, Li Qing quickly rushed to his side, calling out anxiously but afraid of moving him.
